Message

After we finished our eight-hour shift we went home. Nya and I helped Harumi get ready for her date with Morro. It took a while but I managed to convince her to wear a beautiful red dress that she was saving for a special occasion. "Why?" She said again as we went downstairs.

"You'll see," I said again.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

She and Morro left. I went into the backyard. "Nightmare, could you call Wings please?"

Why? He said without opening his eyes.

"Because I need him to give a message to Gaara, that's why," I huffed.

Two minutes later Wings landed in front of me. "You called?" He said.

I nodded. "I need you to give Gaara a message if you can."

"What is it?"

"'Liam has a stepbrother who wants me to be his. We're hoping this doesn't come to a war but if it does can we count on your help?'" I intoned.

"Want me to tell him you're pregnant with Lloyd's kid too?"

I scowled. "How do you know that?"

"Nightmare."

I glared at Nightmare. "I suppose that would be okay."

"Alright." He disappeared.

"You didn't have to tell Wings I'm pregnant," I snapped at Nightmare.

He needed to know and I think it's a good idea to have your allies know that stuff.

"Whatever." I went inside muttering about stupid dragons. I went into my room and shut the door. Then grabbed a book and sat on the bed. I was still reading when Lloyd came in.

"Hey," he said.

"Hey," I muttered still glaring at the book.

He reached over and plucked it from my hands. "What the book ever do to you?"

"Nothing. It was just conveniently there for me to take my anger out on," I replied.

"Oh? Who are you mad at now?"

"Nightmare."

He frowned. "What did he do?"

"Oh, he's just telling everyone that I'm pregnant."

"You mean telling all the animals that hover around here?"

I narrowed my eyes at him. "Yes. He told Wings and now Wings will be telling Gaara."

"Gaara's going to find out eventually anyway," Lloyd said gently.

"Who's side are you on?"

"Whichever side lets me live."

"Mine."

He sat beside me. "So how was work?"

"Fine."

He raised an eyebrow. "Do you like working there?"

I nodded. "Yeah. Tomorrow we're going to get to deal with older kids."

"How much older?"

"Three to five."

"That sounds fun."

I raised an eyebrow. "Do you want to work there too?"

"Nope. You can do it," he said quickly.

I laughed. "Good to know. Oh, when Morro and Harumi get back they're going to be engaged."

He smiled. "That's good."

"Yeah. Harumi was seriously planning to propose to Morro."

Lloyd blinked. "How?"

"Harumi was going to put the ring on his pillow and wait for him to come in. When he opened the box she was going to ask him to marry her."

Lloyd snorted. "Not very romantic."

I scowled. "Anyway someone proposes is romantic."

He raised an eyebrow. "You sound as if you've said that before."

"I have!"

He chuckled. "Who made you say it the first time?"

"Nya," I muttered.

He kissed me. "Okay. I'm sorry for repeating something Nya has already said."

I rolled my eyes. "I'm just irritated," I said softly. "Nightmare really bothered me so I'm just taking my anger out on you."

He sighed. "You do know that they're going to find out anyway?"

I sighed. "I know but it still bothers me."

"Well then don't let it."

"I hate you."

"I know."

I snuggled against him. "Goodnight, love."

He snorted. "Are you actually tired or are you just doing that to shut me up?"

I yawned. "Both." My eyes feel closed.

"Goodnight," he said softly and kissed my gently. We fell asleep.
