Chapter 7: The People Inside The Crystals

When I woke up, I started inspecting the bodies. There were 15 of them in total. I silently berated myself for falling asleep when surrounded by strangers in the middle of nowhere.

The girl closest to me moved slightly. I tensed as she then slowly sat up and opened her eyes. They flashed red for a second before turning into a dark blue. She had white hair with hints of pink, blue, and purple mixed in. She was wearing a white robe dotted with designs. She looked to be about 12, just a few years younger than myself.

Looking at me she spoke, "Greetings to the Almighty." She was now kneeling in front of me. Not knowing what to do I just stood there and she just kept kneeling. Well, this is certainly awkward.

Breaking the silence, I said, "I'm afraid that you are talking to the wrong person. I am not the Almighty."

She appeared confused for a second and then having come to some sort of realization, she got up, losing all formality. She curiously asked, "So the previous Almighty didn't explain it to you?" Then, answering her own question she said, "He must have run out of time."

What in the world is going on? What is an Almighty? As if reading my mind, she said, "I will explain everything to you when everyone is awake. That way we can all be on the same page."

With a small smile on her face, she sat down and began humming a little tune to entertain herself.

I mentally groaned. I hated waiting (though I seemed to be doing a lot of it lately).
