6 Chapter 6: A New Almighty?

In Heaven, strange things happen. The weather was so bizarre that at one second it would be nice and sunny, and the next, it would be raining cats and dogs (sometimes literally). The earth could turn into cheese for all you know. Such an occurrence was quite normal to the gods.

Yet that day something happened that shocked everyone. First, a Heavenly Contract appeared.

A Heavenly Contract signified that a new Almighty had been chosen.

Most were excited. This event meant that they could finally welcome a new ruler that would bring stability and prosperity to the world.

Others were worried and even dreaded the event. What if this Almighty turned out like the last one. Would they be subjected to another tyranny? Would they have to go through another war?

The War:

In the war, a bunch of powerful gods banned together to get rid of the Almighty who they deemed a tyrant unworthy of his position. They succeeded in their rebellion and overthrew the Almighty. Since they needed a new ruler and only the current Almighty could pick a successor, they reduced the Almighty's lifespan to 3 days and forced him to pick a successor before his death.

However, the Almighty thought that there was no worthy successor in the current population of Earth and the Mirror World. So he used the last of his mana to travel to the future and picked a successor there.

The God of Contracts would be notified of this event and would create a contract such as the one that had appeared before them today. The Heavenly Contract would make sure that every God accepted the rule of the chosen Almighty.

Looking at the contract floating in front of them, the Gods, each with a different set of emotions, reached out to grab it. However, they had not even started reading the fine print when it disappeared. Astonished, the gods did not know what to do.

The God of Time had already predicted that the contract would appear around this time so they were already expecting the appearance of the contract. However, for it to disappear like that! They did not even have a good look at it!

In the midst of the confusion, the contract appeared again, causing greater chaos. They would be blind to not notice that this contract was different from the previous one. The gods were further baffled and collectively decided to leave the matter to the High Gods while they went about their own tasks.
