Chapter 90
"That is not it either. Still can't seem to get the right feel." I spoke to myself before intending on concentrating on the sparing once more. That was until I noticed they had stopped and was just staring at me. Guy as well. "What? I have something on my face?" I touched my face to make sure.
"What was that?" Naruto asked, still looking at me with a weird look. "If you felt it then I failed." I responded back. I looked around and they were all still looking at me weird. Well, except Guy. He had an almost crazed look in his eyes. No, more like he was trying to contain something that wanted to come out. 'Battle Maniac'. I chuckled to myself.
"What was it?" Sasuke asked. "I'm working on a jutsu, er, so to speak." I replied with a sad sigh. It has been more than a year and I still can't get it" My head was beginning to ache as I massaged the bridge of my nose. It was getting frustrating. I was beginning to feel I should just forget about it. 'Maybe I am just not meant to be a true assassin.'
Guy looked at me for a while before turning and making his way out. "I'm going out for a quick mission. I'll be back by evening." Without waiting for a response, he left us alone. I may have aggroed the big guy; I almost feel sorry for whoever his mission is.
"So, guys I need your help. Take me to Akari's place. Both of you." Both had different looks for different reasons. Naruto nodded while Sasuke frowned. "Why do I have to come as well?" Sasuke's frown deepened with his querry.
"Well because it will make seeing and talking to her easier, 'For me', and if you don't come along, I will beat you up every time I see you for making me do this alone." I spoke with a straight face. Just as he was about to protest, he stopped. One look in my eyes and he realized I was not joking.
With a Tsk, he left to wear find something to wear. Naruto chuckled at the side and was about to leave as well when he stopped in his tracks. His aura changed and his pupils changed to slits. "Hey kid." I frowned when I realized who it was. After what happened last time, he was the last person I had any interest in seeing or interacting with. Seeing my frown, Kurama chuckled lightly.
"Calm down kid. I'm sorry about what happened last time." Gasp! I was frozen in place. My mouth open and my eyes wide. 'What just happened?' To think the prideful nine-tailed fox actually apologized. I knew I was in an AU but this was getting ridiculous.
"What the hell was that loud gasp?!" Kurama yelled and growled at me. "I shouldn't have done that. I heard what you said to Naruto about everyone having a story. I should have thanked you." He spoke with what I assumed to be a blush. It couldn't be, right? The great Kurama actually embarrassed?
Gasp! "Stop gasping!" I could not help but laugh loudly. "Haha. It's fine. But yeah; The main reason for conflict is the differing in opinions. No one wants to listen to the other. Everyone does have a story. We just need to listen." I smirked at him before continuing, "Congrats on finding a family; Naruto, Kakashi, Guy, and even the gloomy brat, Sasuke. That was the reason why I came to you earlier; I thought you would want to help me in order to help protect your new family.". Was I a bad person for wanting to capitalize on this version of Kurama? I was feeling bad.
"Tsk. I know. I may not have felt so at the beginning but I do now. TELL THE KID ANY OF THIS AND I WILL DENY ALL OF IT, YOU HEAR ME!" For someone who would deny something, he really screamed it for the world.
"I understand, stop yelling at me just cos you're embarrassed. Geez." I said to him while I dug out my now almost deaf left ear. He was such a softy. "Now tell me; What threat is it that is so big that you need all our help?" Kurama finally changed the subject.
"Uh?" The question caught me off guard that my brain froze for a moment. I had sold the idea of a threat greater than their father's mother but I had never really thought anyone would actually ask me. "We would also like to know of this major threat" I knew that voice. I just left them. I turned around and my suspicions was right.
Jiraiya. Accompanied by Kakashi. What the hell?! I thought these two went sighting-seeing at the women's bath? Now both men were looking at me expectant. "Sakura, I know you have been trying and preparing for whatever is coming on your own for so long. Maybe it's time you trust us as well. You are not alone after all. You don't have to do this on your own anymore." Kakashi walked to me and placed his hand on my shoulder.
'It is not me withholding information. There is nothing like that! Why do you have to put me in such a situation? Why can't you all just stick to the script?' My mouth was wide open as I looked at Kakashi, who had a gentle smile on his face. Looking at Jiraiya who was standing by the side and saw him nod to me as well with a gentle smile.
"Wait. Just to be safe, put up a sound barrier like you did earlier." I complied and put up the barrier. Not because I wanted to; At this point my mind was blank and my body was acting on response. Jiraiya and Kakashi nodded. Seeing as I put the barrier, meant I was finally ready to open up.
Once I put up the barrier, all eyes were on me. Slight panic began to set in as I began to sweat a little. "Is it that serious?" Seeing my condition, Jiraiya frowned and asked.
"Thanos!"
""Who?!"" They all asked with clear confusion on their faces. 'Thanos? Thanos?! What the hell is wrong with me?! Why didn't I just tell the truth and say Madara? Now if I changed, they will definitely know something is up. Since it has come to this, then I will just have to bullshit my way through.'
