Kakashi took in a deep breath and was about to speak before I cut him off, "I was honestly expecting a punch. Since it did not happen, I will give you a nice bit of information, but only after today's mission. I need your head in the game for today." I was almost salivating at the thought of what I wanted to do.
'How would things turn out? Ah, I'm almost turned on right now?' I had to try hard to stop myself from moaning. Was I turning weird? Kakashi nodded and bid everyone else goodbye, turning down breakfast before disappearing. With everything set, I decided to take it easy until afternoon. Surprisingly, neither Mebuki nor Kizashi asked nor talked about what happened.
After waiting the whole morning, it was time to leave for the academy. I wore a simple all black for little visibility when night comes, with my Konoha headband hanging around my neck. I flickered towards the academy and made my way into class. The people present were surprised by my presence, wondering what I was doing there.
"Just because I have already graduated does not mean I cannot be around. We are classmates and friends after all. Good luck to everyone." I shrugged before walking towards the back of the class.
"Err. When your name is called, make your way to the other classroom." Iruka gave his instructions before leaving. After that, I closed my eyes and tuned everything out with one clone monitoring the other classroom, in case something went wrong.
I felt a glare from somewhere and turned to the source. Uchiha Sasuke. It was his turn next, but he decided to send a meaningless glare towards my direction first; probably wanting a fight, thinking he was now stronger or something.
I smirked, "Gloom king. Good luck out there. Better learn as much as you can from your Jounin teacher else you will never to land a scratch on me, let alone a clean hit." He gritted his teeth and balled his fists before leaving for his test.
A little while later, I heard Ino's name called and wished her good luck. Then finally, Naruto. I could not help but perk my ears a bit. I wished him good luck and watched as he left to take his exam. It was unfortunate I could not see through walls. Minutes later, I received a rush of info. Naruto had failed his exam.
I did not move, but my chakra carpet was in full stretch of two hundred meters. A good sensory ninja would be able to sense it, but for someone of Mizuki's level, I was not afraid in the least. Surprisingly, Naruto sat exactly where he did in the anime and manga; on the swing, watching families come for their children with a depressed look. Watching them sneer at him with eyes of disgust and hatred. It was not long before Mizuki showed up.
'It actually followed canon? Interesting. Maybe certain major events cannot be changed easily? I would have to check.' Again, everything else followed canon, with Naruto 'stealing' the scroll and even Iruka's interference in order to get him to return what he stole, except this time, I could feel Kakashi a distance away, watching Mizuki like a hawk. Hinata, knowing someone actually wanted to play her beloved, was diligently doing the bullshit task I assigned; watching for possible allies of Mizuki. I just needed her out of the way.
Mizuki appeared before the two and began to insult Naruto, trying hard to cause him to despair, even going far as to tell him about being the fox everyone hated. I could feel the killing desire of Hinata rising, yet she did not lose concentration of her job. Naruto bolted through the forests when Iruka asked him to run. He knew with Kakashi present, nothing particularly bad would happen to Iruka. I already had my chakra carpet stretched forward into the radar form checking the surroundings; Ten minutes should be enough time for me. It was not that I did not trust Hinata to do the job, it was that I felt safer personally knowing of the situation.
It was then that I sensed them; Fifty of them, but ten had split up into the range of Hinata, who informed Kakashi of them. He quickly left to intercept the ten. I do not know what it was, just maybe, things needed to play out like it did in the canon, which now it did. Now it was back to just Iruka and Mizuki; Just like in the canon. As for Aoi and Kouki, they did not really care; As long as I had not given the order, they would not move. Either way, it was working out well for me.
After Naruto had run a few miles in, with the scroll behind him, I appeared beside him. "Yo", I said, startling him with my sudden appearance.
"Shit, you almost gave me a heart attack." He had a kunai out, standing at the ready. He lowered it when he realized it was me.
"Sorry, sorry. So, is that it? What Mizuki wanted?" Naruto nodded and pulled it from behind him. I took it and unfurled it with a nonchalant expression. "Let's see why he was so desperate for this, shall we." This was it, what I had been waiting for. Nonchalant expression or not, my heart was beating fast.
Naruto came closer to read as well but he froze. My face was twisted in a rage he had never seen before. The other forty that had split up from the group had closed in on us. It seemed their target was us or the scroll after all.
"It seems some people are itching for death tonight" I handed the unfurled scroll to Naruto who gulped before I disappeared. I arrived at the location where the group had gathered. When I got there, I saw twenty people in cloaks and masks standing before me; Root agents!
My face morphed even more in rage. That sewer rat Danzo did not get my message the last time. It seemed I would need to pay him a rude visit after. The other twenty were hiding; they were aiming to ambush me. Standing on a branch, a buzzing sound erupted. My short pink hair stood on end with snakes of lightning coursing all over my body. The branch I stood on, charred black. Then I moved.
To me, every single one of them was just standing still, waiting, begging for their lives to be taken. So, I obliged; One slash for one person. After I was done with all forty, I quickly rushed back to Naruto without stopping and appeared beside him just as he was about to sit. There was no need to look at my finished work; I already knew. They knew as well; With their lives.
"What did I miss?" My hair gradually falling back down and the lightning gradually dissipating from the body.
"Woah! You want to give someone a heart attack. What happened, you've only been gone a second?" He seemed annoyed.
"Just took care of some suicidal fools. I'll have you properly give me the accurate time after this is done. For now," I took the scroll from him and began to look through. It was all there. I wanted to laugh out, but I made sure to hold it all in. It was all there; The descriptions, the seals, the notes, everything. I read through all once before completely memorizing it; charging my brain over the year had definitely boosted my brain power.
