Chapter 9 Bracelet

Dad and Bettany are in the living room when I arrived. They were seriously talking about something. They stop when they saw me enter the house.

"You're still awake?" I asked.

"We are just talking. How's the party?" Dad asked.

"It's okay. Why do you need me home?" I asked and looked at Bettany.

"We just taught that it's already late," Bettany said.

I looked at both of them with suspicion.

"What am I? 12?"

"You just recovered from your coma. You can't stay up late." Dad explained.

"Did someone report something to you?" I asked eyeing them both.

Dad and Bettany look at each other.

"Nothing," Bettany answered.

Simon told me Bettany called. Someone must have reported to her of the event in the bar. They just hire someone to follow me around.

"Guys, what's happening? I can feel that there is something you're keeping from me. My friends told me I was not around for more than a year when I was only in a coma for 6 months. Tell me. What happened to me before I got into a coma?" I asked impatiently.

They both paused. They didn't expect the question to come from me.

"Georgina, you're tired. Take rest. We'll talk tomorrow." Dad answered.

Bettany agreed. I can see the hesitation in her eyes. They are keeping something from me. Why are they so overprotective? I survive and am okay now.

I went into my room and change into my pajamas. I look at the frame again. The woman I was.

Did I get pregnant before I got into an accident? I need to remember. What happened to me?

I woke up late the next morning, Dad and Bett are already at work. Mom is preparing breakfast for me.

"How's the party last night. Did you enjoy yourself with your friends?" Mom asked.

I nodded. "Mom, what kind of accident did I get into?" I asked.

She look at me stunned by my question.

"It's. It's a vehicular accident. Someone hit your car that made you slam into a tree. The police are still looking for the suspect."

"Where did this happen?" I asked again.

"Someone found your car on the road outside the city." She answered shortly.

I can see in her eyes that she's keeping details.

"Where exactly?"

"It was somewhere in the Gota region."

I spend my week browsing the internet about the vehicular accident that happened for the last 9 months but nothing matches the dates I was found. Then I read a local article in Gota.

'Body of a woman found in the river.'

The dates matched.

The article says the woman was critically wounded when found but still breathing. She was brought to the local hospital and was in critical condition. There is a picture of when she was found in the river. The people thought she's dead at first. Her hand is not blurred. There is a bracelet. It looks familiar. My bracelet with quarter moon shape bean. It's me! It's my hand. I was found in the river. Not road.

Why did my parents lie to me?

The next morning my sister picked me up from the house. We're having dinner outside. I decided not to tell them what I found out. I want to know more before I confront them.

We arrived in a seafood restaurant. We entered a private room and I saw my parents already sitting there. On the opposite side, I saw Gin's father and a woman beside him. Must be Gin's mother.

Bettany and I greeted them. She whispered to me that it is indeed Gin's parents.

I'm just confused why are we having dinner with them. Bettany mentioned before that our parents are close.

"It's been a long time since I last saw you, Georgina. You become more beautiful." Mrs. Camela uttered while looking at me. She's Gin's mother. I can see where he got his eyes.

"Thank you Mrs. Camela. I can say that I didn't recognize you at first. You look younger." I complimented. Partly true that I can't remember her but she looks stunning and young to have a 26-year-old son.

She blushed and laughed. We all laugh as well.

"You and Gin will make a good pair." She said with a smile.

I stopped laughing and look at Bettany and my parents.

"What's going on?" I asked trying to hide the panic on my face.

"Georgina, you and Gin are not getting any younger. You're both single and have known each other for years." Mom explained.

"We're not in a relationship. We.. we're friends." I said.

Gin has been very nice to me considering the things I did to him and his girlfriend in the past.

"That's even better. Love that starts with friendship makes a good marriage." Mr. Enrique added.

My parents agreed.

Oh no. This can't happen. Gin will get mad.

"But-"

The door opened and Gin entered the room. He smiled at his parents but is taken aback when he saw us when he saw me.

I can see on his expression when he finally understands what is happening. He looks furious.
