Chapter -10 [A New Location]

Chapter | 10.

In the course of the conversation, which lasted about an hour, I learned a lot more about the mysteries that had been hanging over my head, including the fact that my mother was concealing her practise of witchcraft and that neither I nor the late Ivan had any recollection of the person who was supposed to be our father and about whom there weren't even any portraits in the home.

As this entire incident occurred prior to my transmigration into Ivan's body, neither I nor Nano could do much to recall it because there was a chance that memories could have been altered. In addition, mysteries always have a tendency to surface at the most inconvenient times, so all I can do is be ready for that eventuality.

Instead of falling asleep with the aid of a potion, I managed to stay conscious for a couple of hours, but at this point there was absolutely nothing to talk about considering my brain seemed to be flooding with a slew of information that would require some time to process.

As my conversation with Nano came to an end, I felt fatigued as if I had done some kind of mental work so this time my body couldn't resist the temptation and fell asleep without much resistance.

[Scene change]

I was given permission to leave the hospital following mum's conversation with a balding, odd-looking physician. Mum, who appeared relieved after getting approval, hurriedly packed the potions I was supposed to take after coming back home, and we eventually left the St. Mungo hospital.

Though I wasn't expecting such a strong exposure to the wizarding world, what can I say? It is what it is.

As I watched the sunrise upon getting out of the hospital, I asked mum, "Well, how many days have I been in this hospital?" Since it appeared to me that I had enjoyed an entire day relaxing by sleeping.

She answered shortly after she raised her hand for the taxi, "Three days."

'Was the mana heart fusion disrupted by all of this, Nano?' I inquired because being in slumber for that long must have meant that nano needed a bit of extra time to rectify things with physical modification.

<< Yes, as I've mentioned beforehand, the fact that the host's mother discovered him before the process could be done finished required me to reduce the process' speed because an overreaction could have done serious injury to the body of the host >>

'Well, you're right about that.' I concurred with nano given that mom might have freaked out if she had noticed the ongoing physical alteration.

"Ivan, get in, why are you standing there like a lost child?" mother said as she opened the taxi door for me.

truthfully, I was just a lost child, therefore all I did was smile before getting in the taxi. Mom then did the same while giving the taxi driver an address.

However, because the address she gave the taxi driver was different from where we were living at the time, I looked at her, puzzled and asked, "mom, are we going somewhere else first?"

"Yes, dear," she replied with a smile before descending mum.

The entire 30-minute trip to this location was rather monotonous because the mother sat on the seat without saying a word.

And finally, after those monotonous thirty minutes, she told the driver to stop the car, but since we were only a short distance away from the actual destination, the driver looked puzzled as a result of what seemed to be an unusual request.

However, when mother paid for the entire trip, the driver exhaled a sigh of relief.

Once I got out of the taxi, everything that I could make out were a few random hills and an enormous field of grass. "Are we here to buy a farm, Mom?" I asked, taking a deep breath of fresh air.

"Something like that, and I think you'll like it," she smiled as she took my hand.
