11 Chapter -11 [Returning Home]

Chapter |11.

'Can you scan this region, Nano?' I thought as mum started making her way through the lush green field without hesitation.

<< Yes host, now that that host has succeeded in awakening the seven circles of mana to consciousness, the ability to scan has been enhanced to a greater extent >>

As we continued through an expanse of vegetation, I noted, 'Okay, do it for me.'

< transmitting information to the host's eyes >

Suddenly, a horizontal, transparent graph started to take shape in front of my vision following the last message from the nano, and then, one by one, countless sketches of farms and dwellings became apparent on the graph.

But I noticed something peculiar with this graph because, in spite of the fact that there were only a handful of dwellings in the radius of graph, they were built relatively far apart, as if they were the same side of a magnet who couldn't stay close either way.

"Ivan, we're here, honey," mother declared coming to a halt in front of a small hillside.

Confounded by mother's claim, I swept my gaze across the land, but there was nothing more than greenery and the small hillside in front of me. Nonetheless, when I further looked at the graph to confirm it,  I could clearly see a faint icon of a house right away around the back of the small hillside.

"Mother, why exactly are we here?" I inquired since there could only be one explanation if, on the graph, I could make out the faint outline of a house on the back of this hillside but not in reality.

"Take a look this and you'll know," mother said, as she handed me a small piece of paper.

'What is this?' I was perplexed, but then I realised that there was something scribbled in tiny cursive on it, and at that point I couldn't help but wonder, "why is there an address written of this empty place?"

Reading the address, only a few words escaped my mouth when the piece of paper I held onto caught fire. Startled by such an unexpected occurrence, I turned to my mum, who seemed to be doing her best to contain her laughter but when she noticed I was looking at her, she coughed in embarrassment and said, 'look in your front.'

subsequently, as I turned to look at my front again, I noticed that something bizarre had already taken place since I was now able to see a two-story vintage house perched on the slope of a hill.

"W-why is there suddenly a house mum? I swear there was nothing but grass just a moment ago?" I inquired, faltering in the process to sound more genuine.

"There's no need to worry honey, everyone reacts exactly the same way when they come across magic for the first time in their lives," mum assured me with an understanding smile .

"Magic? Come on mum I'm not a child anymore?" I sneered, as just about any muggle kid would.

'Okay, mr. Powell, who is not a child anymore; let's enter the house first.' Mother chuckled as she took hold of my hand once again and led me to the house.

Note :-From the following chapter on, I'll write the story in a third-person perspective, plus each chapter will have at least a thousand words, Thank you.
