9 Chapter -9 [Basic Truth]

Chapter -9.

The sensation of slipping deep into an unfathomable abyss quickly faded, and the moment my eyes opened, I saw a familiar face who had an expression of worry and bloodshot eyes. I looked around, expecting to be in the same dark alleyway, but instead found myself lying on a patient bed in a small room.

"Where are we, mum?" My throat felt dry, so I asked with a bit of discomfort.

Mom, who was just staring at an empty wall thinking about something, suddenly heard a deep voice, but believing she was hallucinating, she ignored the voice, but just a moment later she felt someone's touch on her hand, so she looked over to her son in hope and was pleasantly surprised. That for a moment it appeared as if she had suddenly lost her ability to speak as she opened her mouth but not a single word came out of it.

But then she opened both of her arms and drew Ivan into her embrace, not letting him go for several minutes.

After some Time.

She subsequently asked, "Do you feel discomfort anywhere in your body?" before letting me go.

"No, I'm not, why are you asking, though?  And where am I?" I inquired, curious as to where she had brought me. Though there were many more questions to ask, but since Nano had temporary authority over my entire being, there was no need to pile more questions on her plate as i simply could ask nano.

"We're in the St. Mungo's hospital." She stood up from the stool and replied, picking up a white container that appeared to be a potion vessel before reclining back on the stool.

She leaned the container's mouth close to the corners of my mouth and said, gently "Open your mouth."

I did as she asked, and a moment or two later she poured maybe half of the potion into my mouth, telling me it would help me fall asleep and then advised me to take rest, and she would discuss the incident once we got home.

"Mom, I just woke up from an eternity of sleep." I retorted since her request made no sense at all.

<< Warning, a large amount of sedative substance has entered the host's body >>

<< Getting rid of the sedative effects >>

'No, let it be, and it would be awkward and worrying for her if I didn't fall asleep even after drinking that much potion.' I gave it some thought and then shut my eyes for another lengthy nap.

<< Confirmed >>

I closed my eyes, expecting a strong wave of dizziness, but even after a couple of minutes, there were no such reactions in my body. My state of consciousness was pretty much still there, and on top of that, I could now hear voices, such as those from outside the room or the other side of the wall.

In any case, since I wasn't going to get any sleep any time soon, I chose to talk to Nano because I could do it while feigning slumber.

The first question I had for Nano was, "Where did mum find me? And how was I when she found me?" Knowing that would allow me to prepare some answers for the questions she would ask me after we returned home.

Anyway the most significant query I was itching to ask mum was how she knew about St Mungo hospital, and was she hiding her being a witch all along because her son was a squib.

<< Host, A child who don't have any ounce of wizardry ability cannot be referred to as a squib if  any of his or her parents are not wizards >>

Hearing nano's response, I wanted to laugh at my IQ because, even after hearing that I was a squib from nano quite some time ago, I couldn't think of that simple and basic law.
