Cro smiled contentedly. Today had been another day full of rewards.
"Oh, I'm so sorry. Once I start talking about magical creatures, I can't stop," Hagrid apologized, scratching his head. As a magical creatures enthusiast, whenever he met someone like Cro, who shared his passion, he couldn't help but share everything he knew. He even promised to take Cro to see the Acromantula.
"It's no problem at all, Hagrid. We love hearing about magical creatures! In fact, everything you said makes me want to see them right now," Cro waved his hand dismissively.
"I'm not a professor, so no need to call me that. Just call me Hagrid," Hagrid said, glancing repeatedly at the owl shop nearby.
"I need to step out for a bit. Could you two keep Harry company for a while? I'll be right back," Hagrid said, quickly walking off toward the shop before they could answer.
Cro's lips curled into a sly smile. It seemed even Merlin wanted to see his grand plan unfold.
"Harry, I can't believe you're the famous 'Boy Who Lived'! I just read about you in a book. You defeated the Dark Lord. It's really great to be your friend!" Cro exclaimed with feigned excitement.
Hermione's eyes widened in disbelief. When did he read that? He's been with me the whole time! But she didn't ask, knowing that Cro must have a reason for saying it. Asking too many questions could mess up whatever he was planning.

...
Cro glanced at Hermione, noticing her confusion but also her silence. He felt even more satisfied with her. Truly, she was a treasure of a friend—his greatest asset in farming treasure chests!
"No, I don't know anything about the Dark Lord. In fact, I never saw him," Harry said sadly, lowering his head.
"I've been living with my Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon ever since I was born. They... treat me well. I'm certain I've never seen the Dark Lord, much less killed him," Harry added with a forced smile.
"Well, if you are the 'Boy Who Lived,' I must warn you about something," Cro said, cautiously looking around. Both Harry and Hermione were puzzled as Cro leaned in close to Harry's ear.
"I heard there's a pervert at Hogwarts who's targeting you. The person who told me this said the pervert is into boys... and very young boys at that," Cro whispered seriously.
"I don't know if the rumour is true, but you should be careful. Better safe than sorry, right? Stay alert," Cro added, patting Harry on the shoulder.
Harry was completely stunned, and seeing that Cro wasn't joking, he suddenly felt extremely uncomfortable. His face paled as a wave of fear washed over him.

...
"What are you two whispering about?" Hermione asked, frowning. She didn't like how Cro had shared a secret with Harry without including her. It reminded her of the times she had been left out before.
"Nothing important. I'll tell you when we get back," Cro said, taking Hermione's hand gently to calm her down. Of course, he couldn't let Hermione in on this. If she accidentally let it slip, his grand plan to shake the wizarding world would be ruined!
After a few soothing words from Cro, Hermione's feelings of exclusion began to fade. However, she couldn't help but feel a subtle hint of hostility towards Harry.
"Oh, sorry kids, I'm late!" Hagrid called out, walking back with a birdcage in hand. Inside was a beautiful snowy owl.
"What a gorgeous owl! What's its name?" Harry asked excitedly, instantly forgetting his earlier fear as he rushed over to Hagrid to admire the owl.
"You'll find out its name soon enough. For now, we need to get your wand. That's the real highlight!" Hagrid smiled warmly, glancing at Cro and Hermione.
"Thank you both for keeping Harry company. I'm taking him to get his wand now. By the way, you might not know this, but this is my first time guiding a new student," Hagrid said, looking a bit nervous as he scratched his wild hair.
"I think you'll do great, Hagrid. Harry won't be your last," Cro responded with a smile. After exchanging pleasantries, he and Hermione said their goodbyes and left.
The trap was set, and now it was just a matter of waiting for Harry to fall into it. And Snape... Cro couldn't wait to see Snape's reaction when he saw Harry dressed as a girl. It would be priceless!
Thinking of that, Cro couldn't help but grin.
"We need to hurry, or my parents will be back soon. If they don't find us, they'll go crazy," Hermione urged, looking anxious. It was already late in the afternoon, and the Grangers would be getting off work soon.
Though they had left a note, both of them knew it wouldn't do much good. No parent would remain calm if their ten-year-old child left a mysterious note and disappeared.
