Tom enters the transfiguration classroom with the rest of the Slytherins

They had the class with Gryffindors. His eyes scanned every student in the classroom and as soon as he saw Minerva he smiled.

Walking up to her he asked, "May I sit here Ms beautiful" As soon as she heard Ms beautiful she looked back in surprise

at Tom and said "Oh it's you, umm sure" she said and scooted away from the end making space for Tom.

The reason Tom liked Minerva was that she was not like other girls, she never fawned over him, she always had a strict demeanor, when I say strict I don't mean snotty or arrogant. She was a very approachable girl and she had been a prefect and head girl of Gryffindor. He had some close encounters with her but she never blushed by his oh so sexy voice and remained firm in her character.

Moving on, sometime later professor dumbledore entered the classroom. And we all wished him "Good morning professor".

"Haha, Yes, Good morning to you all". "I hope that there were no complications while coming here?" He asked us with a twinkle in his eye. There were some scarce "no professor" But he nodded jovially.

"Let me reintroduce myself, I am Albus Dumbledore and I will be your Transfiguration professor from now on".

Walking up to his desk he took a chalk and wrote 'Transfiguration' on the top of the board. His writing was neat even on the blackboard where generally many lacked this quality.

He then turned towards us and said " Transfiguration is the study of matter. All the things around us that we see is matter. Changing the characteristics of one matter into another is the work of transfiguration. It has numerous uses". Stopping there he looked at us and asked "Can anyone tell me some cases where I would need to use transfiguration".

There were five hands raised. One obviously was Tom, Second was Minerva, no surprises there. She had always been an overachiever.

The third was a Slytherin boy named Adam Billiard, He was a cleaver half-blood always in search of recognition and he was one of Tom's first death eaters, not for protection but ambition. He was one of the few alive ones whose opinion mattered in Tom's eyes. And perhaps the only one who remained alive after once disagreeing with him. But in Adam's defense, his disagreement had once saved them a big portion of their force.

The fourth was a nobody Gryffindor in Tom's eyes and the last one was someone unexpected, Sam Wilson, a muggle-born Gryffindor. If Tom remembers correctly then Sam was just a shy introvert kid, who never stood out. And by never I mean never, He probably didn't even raise his hand in the previous life.

Dumbledore chose Sam "Yes, you my boy tell me a use of Transfiguration"

Everyone puts their hand down and turn to look at Sam

If it were some first year he would have been troubled by so many gazes, but Sam remained calm and answered

"Transfiguration could be used to change a rock into cloth in case of emergencies".

Some Slytherin snorted hearing his answer, but dumbledore gave an approving

nod and said, " Very correct Mr. Wilson, In the cases of war when you have some lethal injury and don't know healing magic, you could use simple transfiguration to change rock into a cloth for wrapping around it, which may save your life."

"Ten points to Gryffindor Mr. Wilson for your exceptional thinking".

He looked at us and asked "Tell me honestly how many of you thought of that same answer" When nobody raised their hands he smiled and said, "What Mr. Wilson has is called out of the trunk imagination. The ability to think of something that others don't, and this is a sign that Mr. Wilson has potential to become someone extraordinary". He gave Sam a small smile and the lesson continued.

After the class, there were discussions of Sam and how dumbledore praised him. Many approached Sam and he never rejected. Some thought he might be arrogant but they were surprised as he was very approachable.

Tom was a little confused as he knew that Sam was not similar to how he is now. Tom was trying to decipher what might be the case.

As Tom was exiting the Classroom Sam gave him a glare that said 'I am watching you. Tom was now very confused as he knew that he didn't show any extraordinary behavior, so why did Sam look at him like that.

Well, it might be that because of his charming looks Sam might be jealous. In return for Sam's glare, he just raised an eyebrow and walked away with his robe swashing behind him.
