“Yeah? Can you guarantee that? I can already feel the tension building up between us.”
“I don’t think our competitiveness will become toxic because I like you, and I’m determined to make you my mate.”
Diego gaped at Rohan. “What?”
“You heard me loud and clear. I like you, and I’m going to make you mine. I like that you’re not one of those alphas whose sole mission in life is to be an asshole. Your jokes aren’t funny—”
“Excuse me?” Diego interrupted because he was extremely offended. “Everyone loves my jokes. My sense of humor is to-die-for.”
Rohan scowled. “Maybe literally.”
“Rude!”
“Shut up. I’m not done,” Rohan said while stepping even closer to Diego. “Your jokes may leave a lot to be desired, but you’re one of the kindest alphas out there. You have an easy-going personality, making you approachable, and I like you very much.”
