Aside from the shock of witnessing such an unusual Lillian Grey, Jenna and Lillian head out for their celebration dinner.
"Ms. Grey, I shall drive today." Jenna offered her assistance.
Lillian appeared puzzled for receiving such loving treatment for just a book release.
It didn't happen the last time, what's so special today?
Lillian's thought kept her occupied until Jenna poked to signal the passenger to get on board.
'Maybe am imagining too much, Jenna loves these types of things. So why spoil the fun. Let me enjoy it while she's giving me such special attention.' - Lillian thought to herself and put on the seat belt.
"Don't worry, Ms. Grey. Since you got all dressed up for me. I need to make sure you look good just like this until we arrive at the destination. So buckle up," Jenna said while she started the engine.
Jenna's a decent driver, and she's good with the places and their shortcuts too, unlike Lillian Grey, who needed GPS to go to the neighborhood supermarket. It is also the reason why Lillian doesn't drive a lot and uses the cab. She rarely drives out, or sometimes when Shane and Lillian hang out, it would be Shane who gets to drive Lillian's car. Also, Lillian drives reckless. She even got tickets a few times and was almost on the verge of getting arrested due to drunk driving. After getting her out of the police station, Shane strictly warned Lillian to avoid driving regularly.
The moral of the story would be, Lillian owns a car but is not allowed to drive by her close friend's order. She keeps it for emergencies and on occasions like this, which rarely happens.
"Where are we going exactly? You said it's a fancy place and forced me to wear this thing, and I'm already starting to feel uneasy. What's your plan, Jenna?" Lillian felt that silence would only annoy her and started to chat.
"Plan, you say? Nothing like that. I'm seriously taking you to a fancy place. It is one of the elite neighborhoods in New York where you need to make reservation months before you get to eat. Aren't I the best?" Jenna praised herself as she explained.
"If it takes months to make a single reservation, how come you were able to take me here tonight?" Lillian suspected.
"Well, normally, yes. It will be impossible for someone like me to make a reservation at such an elite restaurant. But, I did pull some strings to do this. So feel special already, Ms. Grey. Once and last opportunity and a gift from me," Jenna answered haughtily.
'Pulled some strings, huh?' - Lillian appeared intrigued.
It was a pleasant surprise to Lillian, and she felt honored. At the same time, she seemed burdened. It means that praising her for such a surprise precedes the luxury involved under Jenna's wallet. She did say that it was her treat, but it might cost a lot of Benjamin's to eat lavishly.
A place with luxuries can empty Jenna's hard-earned money in seconds.
Lillian chose to convince Jenna out of this plan even if it meant to use harsh words against the kind woman. She did not want Jenna to spend her money and surprise, Lillian, in this way.
"Well, you are the best indeed, but I don't necessarily prefer to celebrate in these types of places," Lillian conveyed her opinion, trying her best to talk her way out of this.
Jenna having terrified after hearing Lillian what said that she hates such high-class places. It bothered her.
"You- don't like such places, Ms. Grey?" Jenna asked with wide eyes that sent lasers of concern and worries to the commentator.
Lillian noticed that they were driving slower now. Jenna's emotions sank along with her driving skills. Looking at her face that got entirely drown in dread and worries. Lillian felt miserable.
'It's already too late and can't be helped now.'
'In any case, at least I shouldn't make her pay the bill. Alright, I got my wallet with me. It's fine. Let me handle this,' Lillian decided herself and tried to ease the wounded soul.
"Come on, now, don't feel bad. I merely don't like to go to such places alone. But if it's with someone that I care and love, it doesn't bother me. Now, hurry up. I could see that we're driving slower than a turtle." Lillian comforted Jenna. She felt sorry for ruining the moment. Upon seeing Jenna's face brighten up, she eased.
Soon after Jenna sped up the engine, the two reached the destination early.
"DESTINY," one of the world's famous, oldest and most visited restaurants. As Jenna mentioned previously, one has to book months before to make reservations. This place gets commonly visited by businessmen and women, actors, models, and all kinds of fancy celebrities. It is a spot that is far from reach for any civilian.
Jenna and Lillian dropped off at the entrance. The site did have valet service to avail, and Lillian's car went to its location with the help of a nice guy.
Having got down at the front, Lillian glanced at the building, and it sparkled everywhere. Even the air expels luxury, which is just a metaphorical way of explaining that the destination is indeed exclusive and exquisite.
"Jenna, are you sure? or is this a prank?" Lillian worriedly asked.
"Ahh- don't be silly, Ms. Grey. Come on in, let's go soon," Jenna hurried.
They both entered.
As they went in, the aesthetics hit them right in their guts. The ground floor meant to serve as the lounge area. It also serves as a cafe where people can get the world's best expensive coffee while waiting. The dining is usually on the fourth floor. The second floor is their main office, and the third floor is for banquet and holding conferences.
"DESTINY" felt like heaven and angels were floating in the air flamboyantly.
"This place is super ostentatious!" Lillian gasped while mistakenly declaring it out loud.
The two rode the elevator and reached the fourth floor.
As soon as they arrived, Lillian and Jenna walked out of the elevator and saw a massive hall with gorgeously designed interiors, so posh and very extravagant. The place had only a few guests at the moment, and out in those, Lillian spotted a familiar figure waiting all alone. As she focused on that person, she recognized the face.
It was Lucy.
"Surprise, Ms. Grey," Jenna revealed.
