Chapter 56: Time to Strengthen the Team

"Sigh. I was late." said Kurono, looking at the girl who got killed by those vampires. Some of the girls were about to be killed. Kurono rised his right hand, and from his index finger, several lightning bolts comes out.

Klong! Klong! Klong!

These lightning bolts zipped swiftly, and struck those vampires who were about to kill those girls. As if being shined by sunlight, those vampires soon turned into ashes.

After that, Kurono hold out his left hand and pulled all the girls towards him. He looked at his brother, and said, "Brother, can you secure these girls? I think I'm going to be a little busy in a moment."

Akira looked silently at Kei, feeling very shocked. Just now, this brother of his used some lightning powers to kill several vampires with ease.

"Look! That guy is the one in the wanted list."

"He should be the leader of that team who killed our ally, the Oni Alien."

"Kill him!"

All the black clothed men focused their attention to Kurono, while taking out all of their guns, and pointed it towards him.

"Go Akira! Take them and leave this place!" urged Kurono.

"Let's go!" Akira pulled Chiaki, and also urged the other girls to follow him. The girls who were almost died just now, found their hope, and hurriedly followed Akira.

"Don't let them go. Kill them all!"

The vampires then shoot out hundreds upon hundreds bullets towards the targets.

"Not so fast."

A wide version of invisible shield instantly covered Akira and the others, defending them until they reached the door.

"What!?"

"What kinda ability is this?"

"He waa reported to be able to wield strong psychic powers."

"Add more firepower! I don't believe that he can maintain this ability to defend them if we shoot more bullets."

The vampires added more shots towards their targets. Some of the vampires who were close to the door, saw that Akira and the girls were trying to go pass the door. They hurriedly rushed forward, and used their swords to attack them.

"Hei, hei, you are not allowed to kill the people that I just saved." said Kurono. "Here, take back these bullets."

All the bullets that were shot by those vampires, now it was shooting towards these door keepers. Moreover, the bullets under Kurono's control were like a rocket launcher with a remote control. They followed wherever the enemies are. Instantly, those door keepers were punctured like a beehive, and scattered on the floor, dead.

"Go!"

Akira kicked the door open and brought all the girls out of the club. Seeing that they are already safe, Kurono then smiled and focused his attention to those vampires.

"Now that they are out of this place, we can fight freely." said Kurono, smiling at those vampires, sinisterly. "By the way, I forget to inform you all. Your four bosses, I already killed them all."

"What?"

"Did he really kill our leaders?"

"He must be lying."

"Shoot him dead!"

"It doesn't matter whether you want to believe it or not. I'm now here to kill you all." said Kurono. "I've long fancied the lightning power of a character in the pirate world. Now that I am able to control it, I wanted to show you a skill that that character often used."

Kurono rised his hands and controlled a small amount of lightning, and shoot it up to the roof. A small hole was created from the shot, and the lightning proceeded to flew up to the sky.

"What is he trying to do?"

"He just shot a lightning bolt upward. Does it have any meaning?"

"Whatever. Just kill him!"

All the vampires continued to shoot more firepower. Some of the even jumped down from the second floor, took out blades and rushed forward to slash Kurono.

"Mamaragan!"

Klong! Klong!

In that instant, several thick lightning bolts crashed down, incinerating the roof of the building, and came down, hitting the vampires inside. Except for Kurono, all the other living being inside the building were killed by those lightning crash. Inside the building, there are the burnt smells everywhere.

"Wow! I succeeded in my first attempt to control the natural lightning." said Kurono, happy with his own accomplishments.

Outside the building, many passersby saw those flashes of lightning, and heard the thunderstruck that followed after. They were shocked when they saw those lightning struck specific building.

Akira and the others watched from the distance with bewildered expression. Not long later, the roof of the building crumbled down, and some dust were released out after the destruction.

Akira frowned. His brother is still inside. Will he be alright? He said to the girls, "You guys leave."

"Hei..." Chiaki wanted to hold him down, but Akira is already walking towards the wreaked building.

"Hei, what are you doing walking towards that club?" said Kurono. Silently, he already have gotten out of the place, surprising Akira.

Akira looked at Kei with some complexity in his face. After not seeing this brother for so long, he suddenly turned mysterious.

"Who are you?" that was the question that came out of Akira's mouth.

"Let's talk later. The cops already arrived."

Like Kurono said, the cops arrived in the place, and starting to inquire about the situation. The school girls hurriedly reported about what had just transpired inside the building. They also talked about the people who killed their friend.

"So, you guys got saved by this boy...huh? Hero, why are you here?" The police saw Kurono, and become delighted. He have seen this guy when the terrorist monster rampaged and killed many people. This guy was there to defeat that terrorist.

"I've come to look for my brother." said Kurono.

"Brother?" The cop looked at Akira and nodded. This guy's look have some resemblance to Kei, with both of them got a similar height.

"I heard from the girls that he is one of the man that was responsible of bringing those girls into the club." said the cop.

"Actually, he tried to save us." Chiaki on the side tried to defend Akira. Some of the girls also nodded, while some of them got some suspicious expression.

"Let's go to the police station first. We will be needing the information from you all as the witness." asked the cop. "Hero, I hope you don't mind following us."

"It's alright." Kurono just nodded.

Kei and Akira walked out of the police station together, while all the girls who were frightened with what just happened in the club decided to go back to their own house. Only Chiaki didn't go home, but still followed Akira.

"Why are you following me?" asked Akira.

"Thank you for saving me." said Chiaki, bowing to Akira. "I want to be your girlfriend."

Akira showed little compassion towards her confession. It just how he felt towards others, after turning into a vampire. Though, he still have a sense of humanity, which was why he troubled himself to try to save her.

Akira did reply to Chiaki. He instead turned to look at Kei, and asked, "Why did you come here? Why are you so different from the one that I used to know?"

"I heard someone said that my brother is associated with some vampires." said Kurono, stopping on his track, and looking back at Akira with a deep gaze.

A sense of crisis rose up in Akira's heart. Did someone leaked about his information to his family?

Kei continued to walk again, while saying, "As for me, I changed because I don't want to be overshadowed by you, brother. Well, maybe I changed a little too much."

"Are you a hunter?" asked Akira. This is the information that was told by the vampires to him. He even saw the picture of his brother being one of the Vampire Hunters.

Kurono glanced at Akira and smiled, saying, "Don't worry. As long as you don't go killing people indiscriminately, I won't go out to hunt you."

Akira frowned when he heard that. Look like his brother is convinced that he is also a vampire now.

"Well, I still have something else to do. So, let's part ways here. See you later, Akira."

Saying so, Kurono jumped up and flew away. Akira and Chiaki looked stunned when they saw Kei is able to take flight like a bird in the sky.

"Is he an alien?" asked Chiaki.

"Most alien are not bird. They don't fly to the sky like that." replied Akira.

"You talked as if you've seen one."

Akira didn't answer. He just walked forward, while Chiaki still followed him. Chiaki asked, "Are you really a vampire?"

Akira kept silent.

"Can you turn me into one?"

Akira stopped on his track. He looked at Chiaki with a deep stares. "Why?"

"I want to be like you."

"I hate vampire." blurted Akira, surprising Chiaki.

Akira used to think that he was someone who is blessed by God, and aspired to get close to God. However, everything changed when he suddenly realized that he somehow turned into a vampire. He felt like he got cursed by the Devil, and no longer favoured by God.

"You should keep your distance from me." said Akira, leaving the stunned Chiaki behind.

At this time Kurono was speedily flying towards his new house. It was the house that was given to him by old man Suzuki. Suddenly, a voice talked in his head.

"Dad, I got good and bad news for you. Which one do you want to hear first?"

'Dad? Tensho?' Kurono stopped midair. "Tell me the good news first."

"I already am in control over the Gantz."

"That's it?"

"Yes. That's good news."

"...So, what's the bad news?"

"I'm not fully in control over him." replied Tensho.

"What do you mean by that?"

"Dad, he is too resilience. Right now, he can still issue missions like how he always did."

"...okay. Wait there, I'll come to that room." said Kurono. He then flew away towards the place where the Gantz Room was.

Without knowing it, it's been a week since the Oni Alien hunting mission. The time really passed by so fast. Kurono already contemplated about the future event. One month from the Oni Alien mission, which will be three week from now, it would be the next mission, where they will go to fight the Nurarihyon Alien in Osaka.

One week after the Nurarihyon Alien mission, it would be the last mission, which would be the Italian mission. The difficulty level of these next mission would be way harder than any of the previous mission.

That's the reason for Kurono to eagerly wanted to control Gantz. If possible, he wanted to change the mission to somewhere else. However, it look like he and the team still needed to go on those missions.

"Well, can't help it then. Let's just make the team become stronger." said Kurono.

Not long later, he arrived in the building where the Gantz Room was. He asked Tensho to control Gantz, and opened the door. He then entered inside the room.

"Dad, you are here." said Tensho, floating out of Gantz, and meeting Kurono excitedly.

"Tell me exactly what's going on." asked Kurono.

"It's like what I said before. I am able to control this guy for some extent. That's including teleporting the Gantz Fighters of Tokyo team to many place, and removing the limit on everyone when they are beyond the Tokyo area.

However, I still am unable to cancel the order to issue the next mission. This is because, that's related to the fundamental existence of the Gantz. There seems to be some other kind of hierarchy in Gantz.

Out of all the Gantz, this one here is among the lowest level Gantz. Above them, there is the Transcendence Gantz. This higher level Gantz is the one with higher priority on controlling all Gantz. It is capable of removing the bomb in the heads of Gantz Fighters." explained Tensho.

"I see." Kurono nodded. "By the way, are you able to sent the Tokyo team to other mission, other than the existing missions?"

"Sure, I can." replied Tensho.

Kurono smiled when he heard that.

"It's time to strengthen the team."
