Chapter six: Wiped memory.

Irene stood up from her bed and left the room, confident that on one was around she entered the sickbay, she took the bottle of sleeping pills and went out for her room.

She saw Viola and Miss Mata standing at door of her room, she hid in a conner, till she leave this orphanage she's in no room for unnecessary drama which is sure going to happen If Miss Mata sees her. When the duo left she came out of her hiding place and entered her room, closing her sense to the outside world since they was pretty much nothing for her to do than sleep.

she opened her eyes and saw it was almost twilight, she hoped down the bed and rushed to the kitchen. She saw Rose and Amanda preparing dinner, Rose and Amanda are 13years of age and they have been in the orphanage since birth.

"I'll do the cooking" Irene said dismissing them.

"But..."

"I said I'll do it so it's final" Irene said and they left, she looked at their disappearing figure, she pitied them, they were string spirited kids but the managing director figured out a way to break them that's what he always does and now they just like puppets.

They left and she took over the cooking, she grind the pills and add it to the food leaving some behind.

She went to the leftovers after eating to her satisfaction she trashed the rest.

When the food was ready she severed the managing director portion and added the remaining sleeping pills in it.

She left the kitchen and went to Rose and Amanda room, if the caretakers learn that they didn't do their chores they'll be in big trouble and she didn't want that, they ain't her enemy.

After calling them she went back to her room,she laid on the bed starring into nothingness when a memory came it mind.

It was Evie scolding her because she hurt herself for her own amusement, Evenly scolding face brought a smile on Irene face, she was missing Evenly badly.

"What are you smiling at?" Viola asked coming back from dinner, she still hasn't forgotten what Irene did to her and she would surely get her back.

"Nothing that concerns you" Irene replied with lack of instead, using the bed sheet to cover herself.

"Being bitchy doesn't fit you" Viola said irritated

"But I must say being a sticking nose fits you, you love getting involved in matters that's non of your business" Irene said and shut her eyes.

"You...." Viola gritted her teeth and went to bed, she'll get Irene back.

When Irene was sure Viola was sleeping,she stood up "bitchy bitch" she said and went to the small window, she sat down and opened it. Gush of wind came in contact with her pale face. The air was cool and somehow easing her anxious heart. She smile and took deep breaths, she starred at the wall of the orphanage and wondered why she didn't leave this orphanage along with Evenly a long time ago but it's better late than ever, this isn't the first time she's sneaking out of the orphanage but this time she's doing it without Evelyn, she's talking her pendant along with her and she's never coming back. Her red hair danced in the wind and she struggled to keep it in place. A memory came to mind.

thirteen years old Irene came down from a car and a pair of hands wrapped around her in a protective hug, it was Evelyn.

"Where have you been?, what happened to you?, how can you just disappear without a trace?" Evenly kept asking questions not giving Irene time to reply.

"Evie, I..I don't remember what happened" Irene said voice a little shaken. She was told by the police who found her that she went missing when she was seven, she was on the news and posters was made but non could find her, she just disappeared without a trace and now she's thirteen.

She was asked a few questions by the police but strangely she could not remember, her memories of the orphanage was still intact but her memories from when she got missing was gone, it was like that specific memory was erased. Test was performed on her and it was confirmed she wasn't lying, she indeed lost her memory.

She tried on her own to remember but end up having a huge headache so she stopped trying, also this guy that keep coming to her late at night, everything was just so confusing.

Irene bit her lip waiting for Evelyn reply, everyone was starring at her and Evelyn weirdly but their opinion don't matter to her, only what Evenly thinks.

Irene bit her lip so hard that it had blood rushing out, only then did she realized what she did.

She didn't feel the pain, the pain was there but it wasn't painful, like the pain was nothing. Since then she usually hurt herself for her own amusement.

She felt pain, she can deal with physical pain but the thought of not having Evelyn with her was wrecking. She sat there for some hours before stepping out of the room with the bag she fold her things into.

The hallway was empty and quiet so she took measured steps.

She stood before the managing directors door, insert the key and opened the door, she pushed the door open quietly and walked towards the safe.

She stood there looking at the safe before opening it.

It made a 'click' sound and it opened.

She stood there looking at the heart shaped pendant, the moonlight reflecting in it and the gold was sparkling.

Her hands were shaking but she got a grip on herself and reached out to take the pendant and kept it in the bag and exited the office, she went to the window and looked at the ladder she placed there after preparing dinner before climbing down.
