Inuarashi and Nekomamushi were stunned, and everyone in the Mink Tribe at the venue was equally taken aback.
However, they weren't the only ones genuinely confused by the unfolding events.
The moment Buggy activated his talk no jutsu aka persuading level max, all-rounder Blueno had already opened a spatial door, contacting Stussy in Wanokuni, and initiated the live broadcast.
As the world's most famous broadcaster at the moment, even more famous than Morgan from world news. Buggy's popularity was unquestionable. Even in Wanokuni, numerous people recognized him. His recent live broadcast liberating Dressrosa had left a lasting impact, saving the toys and rescuing the dying people of Dressrosa with his own blood.
These iconic scenes had a significant impact on a pirate world after all only those who experienced war and hatred know the value of peace and love. Were it not for his pirate identity, he might have been hailed as a saint!
Now, with the assistance of Stussy and Morgan two underworld Kings, setting up multiple live broadcast screens was a breeze. The only concern was whether the Beast Pirates would disrupt or how long it would take for them to do so.
There were a total of eight live broadcast locations, with three in Flower Capital, and one each in Udon, Ringo, Kibi, Hakumai, and Bakura Town.
Why should the people of Wanokuni also watch this broadcast? Buggy aimed not just to conquer the land but also the hearts of Waco's citizens.
He intended to expose Kozuki Oden's folly by making him a symbol of shame and suffering for the past two decades. Buggy sought to establish himself as the true ruler and create anticipation for his arrival among the people of Wanokuni. Every nation needs a heroic leader to lead it but for a hero to exist there must always be evil or stupid leaders. Mostly the villains are the previous leaders or part of the said nation.
This time, Buggy wouldn't address the public directly. Instead, he'd employ a side-angle live broadcast, allowing the viewers to immerse themselves, convince themselves, and move themselves. This approach was the most effective way to achieve his goals.
Buggy's methods, although understandable to an intelligent observer, but were very effective on the major population. This amounted to a well-planned hype strategy. While not particularly clever, this was sufficient to rule the current chaotic era.
Turning to the bewildered Inuarashi and Nekomamushi, Buggy raised his hands and asked, "Inuarashi, Nekomushi, what are your thoughts? Even if your Kozuki clan's retainers and the concealed clan members haven't been killed or persecuted to death by Kaido in the past two decades, how can you be certain they won't change their loyalties? The human heart and desires are fickle, you know."
Buggy's words contained a linguistic trap, aiming to provoke a response from Inuarashi and Nekomamushi that would assert the unwavering loyalty of the Kozuki samurai, allowing him to counter and prove his point.
To make the people of Wanokuni and the hidden warriors fully comprehend their current environment and situation, Buggy continued.
As soon as Buggy finished speaking, Nekomamushi immediately and confidently responded, "Buggy, I can't guarantee anything else, but the retainers of the Kozuki clan can't change their minds!"
Inuarashi echoed his confidence, stating, "That's right! Buggy, don't underestimate the loyalty of our Kozuki clan retainers! Even though nearly twenty years have passed, the desire to return to Wanokuni with Nekomamushi has not changed! I firmly believe that the members and retainers of the Kozuki clan will come back and multiply."
Inuarashi ended with an excited roar, and Nekomamushi followed with a meow. Their declarations filled the fur tribe members behind them with excitement.
However, their jubilation was short-lived as they noticed Buggy's expression turning cold, his demeanor like ice.
"You both seem to have become ignorant after living in isolation." Buggy's words left the Mink tribe somewhat bewildered, while only Inuarashi and Nekomushi grasped their implications.
Buggy had no intention of ending the discussion so simply. His goal was far from accomplished, so he continued, evading their optimism.
"Inuarashi and Nekomushi, I have to say it. You are being too naive. The two of you, as retainers of the Kozuki clan, are currently living on the back of the Zunesha, enjoying a life of plenty with no worries about food and clothing. Every aspect of your daily life is taken care of by someone else, from delicious meals to fine attire. You're living well, as your bulky bellies can vouch."
Buggy's words were like a razor, cutting deep into the hearts of Inuarashi and Nekomushi, their expressions filled with horror. Even the onlookers from Wanokuni couldn't help but feel a pang of comparison.
Their screens displayed an extravagant banquet scene, the plates on the table served with massive pieces of meat and fruits. These were delicacies that were beyond the wildest dreams of those watching.
This level of luxurious food was reserved for generals and those in the strongest group of pirates and nobles in wanokuni. The people of Wanokuni and the hidden Kozuki family samurai were stunned by what they were witnessing.
Meanwhile, the Mink tribe members were equally shocked, their minds reflecting on the grim picture of Wanokuni that Buggy had painted earlier.
Inuarashi and Nekomamushi opened their mouths but found themselves at a loss for words.
Seeing their struggle, Buggy couldn't help but smile. "You don't know, do you? Then let me enlighten you further. In my estimation, the Kozuki family's samurai are most likely dead, in exile, or reduced to slavery. They might even be toiling away in Kaido's mines."
"Their loved ones could have perished because of them. They have nothing to clothe themselves or nourish their bodies, living lives worse than that of pigs and dogs. Do you still expect these samurai to come back and fight against Kaido with you? I would like to ask them why."
"Why!?"
These words struck Nekomamushi and Inuarashi's hearts like a heavy hammer, causing their complexions to pale.
"Okay, if you can't answer, I'll provide an answer for you. You might argue that the warriors of the Kozuki clan are unwaveringly loyal, right?"
Nekomamushi and Inuarashi almost instinctively nodded. That's their belief—the warriors of the Kozuki clan are unwavering in their loyalty.
"Then, even if they are loyal to the Kozuki clan, I'm curious, how can you face the civilians you've persecuted for two decades? Do you have the audacity to make a return?"
Buggy spread his hands and continued, "For the people who've suffered under Wanokuni for the past two decades? Do you realize that it's because of Lord Oden, whom you revere? Wanokuni's current state is entirely Oden's responsibility. Have the retainers of the Kozuki clan, in all their wisdom, not grasped this point? You've been the culprits behind Wanokuni's suffering, and now you expect the weakened population not to rise against you?"
In the Flower Capital, King originally wanted someone to halt the live broadcast, but Kaido raised his hand, signaling to let it continue. Hearing Buggy's words, Kaido couldn't help but burst into laughter, saying, "Worororo... Buggy, this bastard gets it! It seems he shares the same view as me. Wanokuni is in its current state because of Oden and the Kozuki clan. What does it have to do with me, Kaido? Worororo!"
King muttered to himself, "I feel embarrassed listening to this!"
Sitting next to Kaido, Black Maria also laughed heartily. "He's quite entertaining. I can't wait to meet him and have a nice chat."
One of the live broadcast sites in the Flower Capital was taken over by these two and their crew members, enjoying a barbecue and wine while watching the live broadcast with great interest. For the first time, they found something endearing about Buggy.
If Buggy were to hear these comments, he would likely sneer. You share the same opinion, right? Idiots, only capable leaders who know about things like the loyalty of their people can make their place in the hearts of their people! These muscle-headed guys just don't understand the power of rhetoric. With my talk no jutsu, I can even turn Uzumaki Naruto into a rogue shinobi and destroy Konoha!
At this point, the mentality of Inuarashi and Nekomamushi was shattered. They never imagined that their steadfast convictions would be seen as ugly by Buggy and others.
Now, it's not just Buggy who sees it as ugly; even they found it unappealing after listening to Buggy's broadcast. Their spirits were broken.
"Impossible! Impossible!"
"The warriors of the Kozuki clan never give up! Leaving the facts aside, Kaido is entirely at fault!"
"Exactly, if not for Kaido, how could Wanokuni have suffered so much?"
"It's all Kaido's fault! Oden... he just made a mistake any man could make."
Nekomamushi and Inuarashi were left incoherent and bundled in their thoughts. However, the core of their argument remained clear: it's all Kaido's fault. This was something they refused to budge on.
Putting aside the facts, Kaido is undoubtedly a villain!
However, Buggy didn't follow their lead and delivered another blow with a backhanded remark.
"Do you know? In reality, Kozuki Oden had the means to prevent Wanokuni from falling into Kaido's clutches and to safeguard everyone in Wanokuni."
"What!"
Inuarashi and Nekomamushi, who were still reeling mentally, were taken aback and turned their astonished gaze toward Buggy.
They couldn't fathom it. How could Master Oden, with the Beast Pirates' strength, have had the ability to rescue Wanokuni?
Amid the two's perplexed expressions, Buggy raised three fingers and drove them straight into their hearts.
"To the best of my knowledge, Kozuki Oden possessed at least three ways to completely save Wanokuni, and two of them could have even vanquished Kaido directly."
This revelation sent shockwaves throughout the entire Mink Tribe. The uproar wasn't limited to the Mink Tribe alone; it spread across all eight viewing locations in Wanokuni.
They were all watching the live broadcast, their disbelief evident as their eyes remained fixed on Buggy.
They wanted to know: what were these three ways that Buggy claimed could have saved Wanokuni, and why didn't Kozuki Oden act on them?
"Impossible, absolutely impossible, meow!"
"Buggy, you have to tell us! What are these three ways? Tell us!"
Nekomamushi and Inuarashi howled in place, attempting to shower Buggy with their saliva. However, the saliva they expelled was immediately obliterated by Buggy's barrier, leaving them unsuccessful.
Taking a leisurely sip of wine, Buggy raised his first finger.
"The first method would have been to seek assistance from us, Roger Pirates. After all, Kozuki Oden helped Captain Roger decipher the Ponyglphs. Captain Roger and all Roger Pirates were indebted to him without his help we wouldn't have reached Raftel. If Oden had asked for our help, we would have stormed in and defeated Kaido without hesitation! With the strength of our crew at that time, it would have been a breeze to crush Kaido's Beast Pirates, wouldn't it?"
Nekomamushi and Inuarashi were struck dumb by the revelation, their thoughts swirling. At this point, they began to guess the two subsequent methods Buggy intended to reveal, though they were rendered speechless.
The people of Wanokuni were equally baffled. Kozuki Oden, or that bumbling fool as they saw him, was once a member of the Roger Pirates.
This realization incensed the people of Wanokuni. Why, with such a formidable ally as the Roger Pirates, hadn't Oden called for their help?
As Buggy-sama suggested, with the arrival of the Roger Pirates, they could have effortlessly eliminated Kaido and his crew. That was Gold Roger the king of the Pirates!
Kozuki Oden!!!
Many in Wanokuni were furious, their anger echoing through the land.
Even Kaido, despite his displeasure, couldn't deny the logic of Buggy's statements. With the strength of the Roger Pirates at that time, there was hardly any crew on the sea that could rival them.
For all his strength, Kaido was well aware that his pirate crew was no match for the Roger Pirates.
The Kozuki clan retainers or sympathizers who were watching the live broadcast in the shadows appeared equally clueless. They knew that Master Oden had embarked on a sea adventure, but they had no inkling of his association with Roger's crew.
What a valuable ally! Why didn't you call for their help?
Why!
At that very moment, the entire populace of Wanokuni, including the Kozuki clan's retainers, echoed in their hearts.
Buggy raised his second finger and, once again, pierced the hearts of everyone in Wanokuni and the Mink Tribe.
"The second way involves Oden's stint as a member of Whitebeard's crew before joining the Roger Pirates. He and Whitebeard were sworn brothers. With the peak fighting prowess of the world's strongest man at the time, who in the world would dare refuse his aid? Do you think Whitebeard would have hesitated to defeat Kaido had Oden requested his help? Do you think Kaido's Beast Pirates could have stood a chance against Whitebeard and his Tremor-Tremor no mi?"
Nekomamushi was dazed. The Mink Tribe's reaction was kind of like when Enel found out that the strongest logia couldn't do any damage to Luffy.
Wanokuni,
As Kaido indulged in wine and feasting while watching the live broadcast, he suddenly found the flavors of the wine and meat in his grasp had lost their appeal.
"Damn you, you bastard Buggy," Kaido cursed vehemently, his voice resonating through the grand hall.
This thought was unbearable, yet he couldn't deny any of Buggy's claims. Otherwise, he should have been the Pirate King or the world's strongest man, not Roger or Whitebeard.
But the residents of Wanokuni were even more confounded at this revelation! Lord Oden, or rather Kozuki Oden, was Whitebeard's sworn brother.
What in the world was going on? Kozuki Oden, have you lost your mind? Why didn't you ask for help?
Everyone in Wanokuni was utterly dumbfounded, including the Kozuki clan's samurai. However, just as everyone was caught in a stupor, Buggy didn't relent and delivered a ruthless blow to their hearts.
"The third method is to engage in a life-or-death battle. Fight to the death! Although Oden's strength may not have equaled Kaido's, the battleground was Wanokuni, and Oden had the home-field advantage, so Kaido wouldn't have held the upper hand."
"There was also a group of formidable Kozuki retainers at his side! If Oden had resolutely taken on Kaido in a do-or-die battle, Kaido would never have dared to accept the challenge, let alone emerge victorious."
"The Beast Pirates' foundation at the time was shaky, and the New World had numerous formidable pirates plus cp and marines who were hunting. In a showdown, Oden and Kaido would have suffered significant losses, with both likely falling. In a short time, other New World pirates or marines would have eliminated Kaido. The remaining Beast Pirates would have been ground down by the Oden Kozuki clan's retainers, who would employ their mastery of guerilla tactics."
"In this scenario, while the Kozuki clan would suffer casualties, Wanokuni would have survived. This is still the bleakest outlook. The best-case scenario would have entailed Kaido running away mid-battle, conceding Wanokuni. The latter scenario, in my opinion, would have been in Kaido's best interest."
"However, Oden didn't have the nerve. He played right into Kaido's hands. So, Inuarashi, Nekomamushi, as Bullet stated, Oden was a lost cause and truly foolish."
Inuarashi, Nekomushisa, and the people of Wanokuni were left in stunned silence.
