The Void

Argus couldn't believe what he saw. Mind Reading was used to see fragments of a person's memories. But what he saw was just an endless void. As he walked to what seemed like an endless space, footsteps began to appear on the ground, laced with the color of gold.

Curiosity captured his mind as he began to run to the direction of the footsteps.

It was a long run, taking him an hour to get to the very end. Until he stopped as soon as he saw the monstrosity before him. A golden colored armor surrounding... something.

There was no flesh, no bones, it was... nothing.

It was as if the fragments of the very armor that its capsuled in is just an empty shell that has nothing. A raging living armor that drives on the dark energy in this endless void.

Argus reached out to it. As soon as his hands touched the armor, its eyes... or where normally the human's eyes were lit up in a brightly colored mixture of black and white.

Words appeared in front of him. It was the armor communicating to him.

'BE ONE.'

It said as the words began to crumble after several seconds pass.

The dark cold endless void began to crumble like a glass breaking.

He felt as if his own body was disconnected from his own body. He felt as if he was looking at the eyes of someone... Of Avan.

He saw a bright white flash of light and as he slowly opened his eyes, he saw a woman, crying happily as his own body was held by this mysterious woman.

It was the first time in his life that he felt so small, realizing only seconds later, that he regressed as a baby.

He couldn't believe what he was seeing as time passed normally and he couldn't speak, nor act, nor do anything but could only watch and ponder to himself.

As he spent days... It turned into weeks, then months, then years. He lived Avan's life from his birth up to the very end of Avan's first life.

"It's impossible, indescribable and something that breaks the laws of magic as he knows it. Avan is a bug in the system of the law of the world that was never meant to be shown to the world or else... everyone would die and the ultimate chaos will be born. Not just in my reality, not just their reality. Everyone's reality. Your reality." Argus spoke as if he was talking to someone.

Driven by insanity, spending so much time in that bubble looking through the eyes of Avan, he could only imagine the terrifying power that he holds that's being contained.

"A bug, a mistake. It has to be. It has to be!" Argus continued to shout, only for it to be in vain. As he witnessed Avan's final moments... "A black colored aura surrounded everything that Avan could see. No... probably the whole world." He uttered.

And then, darkness, once more.

He didn't feel relieved as the thought of going back to the same world that Avan was living in, he felt the insurmountable amount of fear, regretting of letting his own curiosity take over his own insanity.

The armor spoke in a ragged voice that no human could produce. But Argus understood it.

'DO YOU WANT POWER?'

"Yes." Avan replied instantly.

'DO YOU WANT REVENGE?'

"Yes."

'WHAT DO YOU WANT?'

"The power to destroy everything so that I could protect my everything."

The living armor stretched out his hand. Creating a ball of light condensed in a golden aura. 'RECEIVE IT. ITS A GIFT. NOT FROM ME. BUT IT IS A GIFT.'

Avan drowned as he saw the power emanating from the orb. As he grabbed it, a flash of light so blinding enveloped everything he could see. As soon as it was done, he saw the rain falling from the skies.

The clouds so dark, but what he felt from his feet was murky and deep. Like a flood. As he looked down, Argus, who was spectating felt like his stomach turned upside down as he saw the amount of blood flowing beneath Avan.

"Isn't this what you wanted?" Avan muttered, yet no one could hear him anymore. A bright light of explosion occurred and Avan and Argus saw something at the end of Avan's life.

A large shockwave then followed. Avan's senses disappeared, yet Argus could feel something so heavy, he felt as if his own body was being torn from inside out.

He heard something. Like a small bump. Argus finally disconnected from Avan's body.

And he finally saw what Avan looks like again after several years. There was something glowing in Avan's chest.

And he realized that he was hearing Avan's heartbeat and the pain jolted throughout his own body.

He suddenly snapped back to reality, falling down on his bottom. Speechless. He looked at the headmaster, completely in despair.
