As the planes circled around for another pass, Rui put her plan into motion.
Running out ahead of her squad, she held a stripped log under Catastrophe's arm.
A long time ago now, Zai had shown Rui that anything could be a weapon if treated right. They'd sparred in the woods, with Zai demonstrating just how effective improvising weapons out of the environment could be.
As soon as Rui broke cover, a trio of enemy fighters started angling for her. They weren't in formation, which made what she had to do harder.
She angled her run perpendicular to the approach of the nearest one, she gripped the forward part of the log as she waited. The cacophony of bullet fire opened up on her once more. Rui shifted towards the fire as soon as she felt the first rounds impact against the light amount of qi armor she'd regenerated since the last pass.
