Amri
SMACK!
The crack of flesh-on-flesh pulled Amri out of Zai's mind and memories.
She was still on the floor before Zai, and for a moment she felt completely disoriented as reality reasserted itself, reminding her she was Dr. Amri Jeng as she opened her eyes to find Zai rubbing her cheek with a resentful look at the woman who stood over them both.
Quynh was raising her arm to strike Amri when the doctor cried out and raised her arms defensively. "Wait! I'm fine!"
"Oh good, I didn't want to hit you." Quynh lowered her arm and offered Amri a hand to help her stand. Her mind felt like... roots, some distant canopy shading her thoughts, which rested in an array of forms like some legendary tree of the gods which bore every fruit. The roots of her mind felt as though they gripped the ground deeply; an impression that reinforced itself as Amri let her hand be taken.
