The Soul

A week has passed with Tiff's lessons. Some of them were actually quite fun. Others were just... irritatingly boring. I had to memorize so much that my head was about to explode. But luckily I am doing my first practical training today with her.

"So where are we going Tiff?" I asked her with a curious expression.

"We are going to make you meditate in a place filled with nature so you can get more in tune with your element and progress towards becoming a 9th level magician soon." She answered me and I nodded in response.

As we went deeper into the forest more animals showed themselves, though they wouldn't get too close. Not only that, but the plants here were filled with incredible amount of energy almost as if they are alive.

Then we entered a clearing. And when I took a step into it I felt a wave of energy. The air itself was completely different. It was as if I had entered a completely new world.

Then I heard Tiff's voice. "Do you like this clearing Kalum? The spirit realm has way more energy than this place."

I smiled at her. "Yeah. It is extremely refreshing just to stand here."

"Kid, this isn't even the best place in the forest. But if you went to some of the other places your body would explode because it wouldn't be able to handle the energy. You see, people usually don't infuse magic into their bodies and meditate in places like this before the 7th level. The 7th, 8th, and 9th level can also be called the transformation stage because of this." She explained all of this to me like it was nothing.

"Then are there also other stages?" I asked her and she nodded with a smile.

"Yes there are. The first stage is the sense stage. It is the 0th level. The next stage is the basic stage, and it is the 1st, 2nd and 3rd levels. The next stage is called the control stage which is just the 4th, 5th, and 6th levels."

"Then are there stages beyond that?" I asked her and her eyes became wide in surprise.

"You really are smart already. Yes. There are higher stages but you shouldn't focus on them yet. After all, you are still only a measly 2nd level mortal magician." She said with a smirk and then she continued, "But now it is time for you to meditate. Sit down in the middle of the clearing and close your eyes."

I did what she said and as soon as I closed my eyes and sat down everything changed. It was like I was... progressing. Like my ability to use magic became a bit better. What is the difference? I need to analyse the process.

First, where is the energy coming from? From what I remember, Tiff said that there are places in the world which are called dragon points. They are places where magic gather. And magic flows from point to point. But where does the magic from the dragon points come from... the spirit realm. Of course. The spirit realm! I remember Tiff saying that there is a lot more energy in the spirit realm. Then that probably means that it comes from the spirit realm as well.

Okay, now that I have answered that question it is time for question number two. How is it entering my body? I read a book while studying with Tiff that it enters through the pores in a persons skin and then it enters the blood stream where it flows all around the body with the red blood cells. And then the energy gets refined to be usable by the body as it continues to be passed through the heart.

Third. How am I using magic? From what I remember the church saying, it was through the soul which is connected to the body through the mind. But how is it then that spirits have so much energy. They only have one soul after all. So how do they do it? Hmm... can you maybe expand your... soul capacity? No, right? Wait. Can I maybe sense my soul... through the connection in my mind? I'll try.

As I begin to concentrate on any connection in my head I find a thin line of energy entering some place inside of my chest. I follow the line and then I see a blue flame. It is burning brightly. I remember seeing it before but... is this a soul? Then what does this mean? Am I going to be condemned as a magician of the forbidden path because of this...
