I don't remember how, but at one point I stopped myself below a tree, close to a river with a good deal of vegetation with bright red color.
I stand up and walk to the calm surface of the water as I look on my reflection on it.
Wearing the clothes of what I guess to be the norm for the nobles who're close associates to the surrounding commoners.
Jumper cloth of white shirt and brown lines, blue short pants, and adjustable running boots.
'Who would've thought I'd be crazing myself over a thing I was fond off'
I pick up some pebbles on the ground, and toss them up for a warm-up. 'It has been a long time of not seeing guns, might as well go for the substitutes that I was also taught'
With a steady body on my back like I'm readying to batter off a baseball, I throw them a little far away, skipping stones. 'I wonder if I really deserved this… I don't even remember myself making wrongdoings that much'
*Plop*
I tilt my body again, while putting a little more force to the legs and arms. 'It's because of them… Those damned cult cunts and their White-haired commanding Chumps!'
*Sploosh*
Me : "KHH-… *sighs* "
Not being able to fend off the biggest fury, I limp my body down, touching the grasses as I turn my head to see the river. 'Just where did it all go wrong, really?'
I toss one rock up, as I catch it halfway through, making me remember the bullet pendant I used to bring as my lucky charm on every mission our team partakes.

. . . Prior to Reincarnation, less than 4 years ago. . .
. . .
I see a reflecting metal that mirrors the image of me, who is injured heavily from all the fights we've been having on the closed corridors of this place.
Wearing black spec-ops armor with the helmet's shield broken yet still intact, I clip in a mag for a spraying fire.
*Brrt-brrrt, Brrt*
On some 5 stories abandoned hotel in Bali, there was heard to be multiple gunshots near dawn when the rain is still storming and what looks like muzzle flashes can be seen on the 2nd floor.
*Bam-bam-bam-bam-bam-bam-bam*
With the continuous firing of the opposing forces who's holding Light Machine Guns, there goes some concrete off the block that Breacher Sierra is cowering behind as Squad Leader Irsik is escorting the hostages who were hold captive just around the corner.
Sierra : "Linap! I count 3 heavy gunners on our right. Need some assistance from over there!"
*Clack*
Sliding down a smuggled Uzi submachine gun that I picked off the ground, I confirm that my gun's loaded as I hold the trigger in my left hand.
Me : "Suppressing Fire!". I peek my head out of a concrete block that I'm covering behind just enough that they can't have a good look at what's to shoot, and I aim to all the robe-hooded guys and white-haired commanders roughly where it can get them, but mostfully with the intention of getting their attention away from him.
*Brrrt, brrt, Brrrrt*
With the estimation that it'll empty out the 30 bullets inside the mag in approximately 5 seconds, I show to them my right palm open to ready themselves when it's time for them to toss out the lights.
*Brrrt, tick-tick-tick*
I then clench my hand into a fist, and he holsters his rifle as he takes out his Flash bang for the occasion we're facing.
Sierra : "Linap, Cover Your Eyes And Ears!"
*Clink*
And so within the next 2 seconds left before detonation, he tosses it out and we both close our eyes and ears.
*TWANG!*
The result is subtle tinnitus on my ears, though not as powerful as we're a little distanced from the blast site.
I peek my head out as I load in the next mag, and I see something rather odd coming from our foes
*Demonic screams*
Rather than blinded, their eyes lit up with white lights and their faces are shaking with tumor-like infection as the veins are tilting left and right with abnormal pulses.
*Clack*
I however, can only care less and aim for their head with both hands on my gun, now with a sharp aim as to hit the bullets to their skulls with single-taps after switching the fire selector just above the gun's grip from D that basically means Auto in German to E which I can guess as Single.
*Bap-bap-bap*
Quicker than Sierra who is still cautious of them, they all fall down just after, yet weirdly enough, they are all still conscious and readies their guns again on the ground, uncaring of their own condition.
Me : "Shoot Them Full-Auto!"
I switch to Auto on the fire selector again, just quick enough before they get their chance for payback.
*Brrrrrt*
*Bap-bap-bap*
I kept on firing to one after another alongside Sierra, and their eyes finally turns lifeless and rolling up, and irritatingly with a mischievous smile like what we're doing doesn't matter at all and that they've won, whatever their plan of Sacrificing humans really is for.
Me : " *panting*. Let's get out of here, quick". I approach the bodies we have felled, checking on whether they hold credible proof of anything useful to take back to our place.
Sierra : " *panting*. Agreed. Leader, you can come out, now". With his clearance, the Leader comes out of hiding as she herself is the one most injured along the journey while guarding the hostages, who I really don't remember how many.
*Clink*
I heard something like a grenade's fused off on the farthest body we've felled, and I instinctively sprint to the nearest cover.
Me : "SHIT! GRENA-"
*BLAM!!*
.
. .
. . .
When I open my eyes, I realize that I'm being carried by both Sierra and Irsik on the shoulders, walking down the stairs with dim light from outside the windows that might show the sun is rising.
Irsik : "Are they here yet?"
Sierra : "No, the hospital's too far and med-kits out of the question. God's Sake!"
*Slam*
A door is opened, and I see many flashing lights of blues and reds and yellow tapes around us.
Me : " *Cough-Cough, Cough!*. Guess this means Mission Accomplished, rig- *Cough!* "
They both have their eyes watered up with concern, even through the mask, they still are human inside.
*Thud*
When I thought of how nice it feels being with them again, my eyes turns up to the sky, seeing the clouds clearing up after the storm from last night.
Irsik and Sierra : Linap! Anybody, I beg of you! Call a doctor! / Hang In There, man! LINAP!!"
. . .
. . . Back to the present. . .
. . .
*Plop*
The watery surface is disturbed by a rolling pebble that I took, while I'm still debating on why I'm alive again, and whether this is the result of the people's lives we took from the last operation we've commenced in.
Not knowing the answer to any of this, I curl my knees up as I am not sure on what to do anymore, now that my main passion isn't for consideration. 'I don't know anymore…'
*Thud*
Just when I was down, someone sat beside me, though I don't really know who it is and doesn't care in the slightest in my current mental condition.
. . .
Didn't think this is purely inner debacle, wouldn't you?
Thought that there's going to be another character or some to introduce? ... Half-right.
It'll be where Rudeus gets to be a little frightened by kids who happened to play just across the field and their house, though Eynor wouldn't really be conscious of this trauma Rudeus is suffering as one would think
I'm taking a break for at least a month from working my original novel, planning for where it would go on and the likes.
