The Valyrian steel metal had fascinated him as not only it was undamagalble it could also store magic. He was already determined to obtain two valyrian steel katanas at any cost. dude. no. just no. european steel is not only made from better quality iron but also they had way better steelmaking techniques. katanas are only soso in terms of swords. Longswords vastly supersedes them in terms of versatility, elasticity, range, endurance (katanas break and bend easily) and depending on the model even in cutting power. whereever you read that was categoricaly wrong and i would never use that source again if i were you.
