Sometime later,
Without any warning, Xu Yue, who was sitting on her bed, suddenly opened her eyes, staring at the sky with a slightly surprised expression on her face.
"Of it really should be that time already," mumbled Xu Yue as she suddenly disappeared from the bed, leaving the sleeping Hulli Jing and Ye Qiao alone.
At this moment, clouds began gathering above the Origin Sword Sect, stretching countless Li in every direction.
And at the center of these clouds stood a lone figure.
Looking at her senior sister's tribulation clouds, some thoughts couldn't help but emerge in Xu Yue's mind.
"Somewhat weaker than my own tribulation, but not by much," mumbled Xu Yue as she stared at Liang Xiaoling, memories pouring into her mind, specifically, of a certain scene.
As Xu Yue remembered how majestic Liang Xiaoling seemed in her eyes as she faced the Minor Trancendance Tribulation and how awed she was of the tribulation, she couldn't help but let out a small chuckle.
Even whilst Liang Xiaoling's body was burned beyond all recognition by the Tribulation, the latter still kept fighting on, clinging on to that tiny hope of life, to the tiny chance that she could survive.
Thinking of this, Xu Yue's eyes couldn't help but turn towards another timeline, one in which her senior sister, did in fact die under the tribulation.
In the past, Xu Yue did not care much about what could have been, but now, a small amount of curiosity couldn't help but appear in her mind.
Suddenly, a lonesome figure appeared in Xu Yue's eyes.
Staring at the charred body of her senior sister, which was falling to the ground right before her eyes, tears couldn't help but appear in the corner of Xu Yue's eyes.
Eventually, though, even that charred body did not remain, being completely annihilated by the remaining power of the tribulation.
Seeing this scene, Xu Yue couldn't help but move her hand behind her head, touching her hair which her senior sister had cared for not long ago.
Remembering how she first met her senior sister truly not too long ago, Xu Yue gritted her teeth, staring into the distance with some hatred in her eyes.
Time passed, but even so, Xu Yue merely stood there, touching her hair whilst gripping the sword in her hand.
Over a year later, Xu Yue still stood there staring straight ahead at the empty space in front of her, but compared to the Xu Yue from a year ago, this one was somewhat different.
It was as Hulli Jing had said right now, if even if Xu Yue were to lose everything, she would not truly change, only her goal would change.
But while this was true for the Xu Yue of the present, the Xu Yue of the past was different.
After a year of silence, the tears in Xu Yue's eyes slowly disappeared, freezing as Xu Yue's physique let out a tiny amount of power.
After a few moments, the eyes that had formed in Xu Yue's eyes shattered, as the latter blinked, but even long after the ice disappeared, the coldness in Xu Yue's eyes remained.
Over the past year, the hatred in Xu Yue's eyes disappeared, leaving only a cold indiference.
Suddenly, Young Xu Yue turned her head sideways, staring straight ahead at the present Xu Yue.
The two of them stared at each other for a few moments before Xu Yue stared at her senior sister, no longer looking at possible outcomes.
But even after Xu Yue no longer stared at her, the cold look in the Young Xu Yue's eyes still remained ingrained in her mind for some reason, feeling awfully familiar.
...
Feeling the tribulation clouds above her suddenly shake, Liang Xiaoling opened her eyes as she exited meditation
As soon as Liang Xiaoling opened her eyes, her spiritual sense also spread out in all directions, seeing the desolate scene around her location.
Although there were formations surrounding Liang Xiaoling, protecting those around her from the might of the tribulation, none of the normal disciples dared to get too close to her.
Turning her head towards a small nearby cliff, a small smile couldn't help but appear on Liang Xiaoling, as well as some surprise.
Liang Xiaoling was not surprised that Xu Yue had come to watch her tribulation, what surprised her was another nearby figure, Lin Xue, the junior sister of the group, one even younger than Xu Yue.
What surprised Liang Xiaoling was not Lin Xue's presence itself, but rather her cultivation.
"I guess I somewhat fell behind," mumbled Liang Xiaoling staring at Lin Xue who seemed to have recently broken through to the Major Trancendance realm as well.
...
"Nice to see you, senior sister, we haven't talked with our main bodies in a pretty long time," mumbled Lin Xue as she looked at Xu Yue.
"Yes, it looks like you have grown quite a lot in that time," mumbled Xu Yue, her eyes looking over Lin Xue's cultivation as well as her activities.
"Oh, that Yun Che is dead?" mumbled Xu Yue, as she watched Liang Xiaoling easily resist the first lighting bolt without breaking a sweat.
"Yes, he couldn't break through to the Minor Trancendance Realm no matter how he tried, even at the end of his lifespan," said Lin Xue with some melancholy on her face.
Although Lin Xue had maliciously taken control of Yun Che at first, after so many years, even she had grown slightly attached to him.
"I see..." mumbled Xu Yue before shaking her head, ignoring the scene of the future she had just seen.
Time slowly passed, as Liang Xiaoling easily resisted the Major Trancendance Tribulation.
Of course, this was not unexpected in the slightest, perhaps as a reward for surpassing the utterly torturous Minor Trancendance Tribulation, most cultivators that managed to comprehend a supreme Dao did not have any trouble with the Major Trancendance Tribulation.
Because of this, Liang Xiaoling was able to rather easily defeat the tribulation in only a few days, then beginning to receive the reward from Heaven.
