As the day advanced, so did the enemy. The lines of red-coated soldiers rolled closer and closer. Serenica was grinding her teeth before sunset.
The pots of hot oil ready, the defenders of the fortress prepared for the siege and its violent first minutes.
Serenica went down to seek the company of the prince.
"You missed me already?" he asked, sounding amused. "While you are here, could you fetch me some coffee?"
"I do yearn for you, but I was mainly wondering if you could go to sleep." Serenica frowned. "I have a bad feeling that this attack is not what it looks like."
The Dreamer groaned. "I am so done with your herbs. I spend every day dazed from their effects. I hardly spend any time truly awake."
"I'm sorry. I can give you some corna once you find out what is happening elsewhere. I was just wondering if you could go headhopping again."
"Mother of worms," the prince said and sighed. "What do you want to know?"
