Chapter 362 - The Legendary Witch?

"Uhm... Sorry to ask such a rude question but... Are you that evil witch in the legend of this town?" Sky asked after a short hesitation.

"I see... So that's what everyone had been addressing me all these years huh?" said the lady spirit, a bit upset.

"Hmm... I guess this is the right place after all. But of course, I would not purely listen to a single party, I am interested to know your version of the whole incident instead of just some legends that had been passed down for a few generations." said Sky, in a polite tone and manner.

Hearing Sky's words, the lady seems to be a bit reluctant and questioning about Sky's intention of asking such a question.

A few thousand years ago, when the sinkhole town was still on the surface. It was a small undeveloped town just the same as the present. In the town, there was an orphanage home, in the orphanage home, there is a little girl... Ah... Had gone a bit too far away.

Through a detailed analysis, she found out that those people had indeed been infected by that dangerous disease she was afraid of. But as a talented newbie healer, the lady knows the exact way to prevent it effectively, the only problem is that the town people once again don't believe her words at all which caused her no choice but to secretly mix in the disease prevention medicine into the water source of the town.

Unfortunately, that deed of her didn't make her a hero of the town, and instead, they paid her back with an open execution. Due to the side effects of the medicine, many of the town people experience some mild diarrhea and vomit, while there was someone who witnessed the moment when the lady mixed the medicine into the town water source, so naturally, the town people would think that she is the one that caused that 'disease' while the deaths of the first batch of infected town people worsen the matters. No matter how hard she tried to explain and defend herself, no one believes her anymore including those who used to believe her words. And thus, she was put up for an execution for spreading contagious disease in the town despite she is the one that tried to prevent the real deadly contagious disease.

During the day of execution, the people dug out her eyes, plug out her tongue, and chopped off her fingers before putting up fire on her semi-dying body. Before she die and totally lost all of her senses, she clearly heard the sound of earth cracking and rumbling...
