Chapter 16 - BR Grinding 1/?

(Needs Editing)

While approaching the red dots, also known as mob monsters, I decided to check the use of my skills.

[Blood is Power - A skill bleeding yourself to grant might to your allies around you, and bleed your targets as well.]

A skill to bleed my self and my enemies. But my enemies will bleed more than me. However, it's not bad as it can also increase the might of my allies or minions.

[Corossive Poison Cloud - Weaken yourself and envelope the target area in a noxious cloud that blocks enemy projectiles and poisons foes while making them weakened.]

Another kind of skill that affects the user. But if my level is getting higher, these skills will be a nightmare to my enemies. If I use these two skills at the same time, the DPS will be higher but in the meantime, I need someone to tank for me.

Anyhow, with the new cosmetic I receive, my BR is ahead of most of the players. Not sure about the rest of the players though, to those who similarly bought the Limited Edition VR helmets. I think they were only 10 of it and We are lucky enough that Mamako was able to buy for both of us.

[Signet of Vampirism -  Steal health from nearby foes while in combat. A skill that will Heal yourself and mark a foe. Allied players will siphon life from the marked enemy.]

Now we're talking. Despite my skills having drawbacks in sacrificing my HP, I have the passive Ability to steal health from my enemies. It will work for a low-level monster because I'm still level 1.

Dark Mage class. A class that is accessible only to those who bought the L.E V.R, is a class that will prevail in the rankings if used properly. I can mix this class alongside with Necromancer or Elementalist if I reach level 50.

In World Online, you can have many skills as you want but the problem will be leveling them. So I have to equalize them carefully and choose the skills I will focus on leveling.

The way to level it up faster is by spamming the same skills to a high-level monster until it will kill them. It sounds easy but grinding is difficult.

Finally, I'm near the Transportation Portal. And I can now see what kind of monsters are here.

This should be familiar to everyone, as even those who don't play games have an idea of what these guys are. Green nasty little things skulking in tunnels brandishing knives and eating whatever wanders in.

Or, that's one interpretation of them. Goblins can be pretty much anything to anyone, a pack of nasty tunnel dwellers, an organized hit and run ambush force, or a clandestine group of city thieves.

I'm not overestimating them. However, they are versatile, have low HP, move in packs, and if I can think of it, they should be able to employ poisons, tactics, and traps and a supposedly low-level encounter can suddenly become a danger to even high-level players.

[Goblin Level 7]

They are 6 levels higher than me. Most of them are wearing random types of equipment with blunt weapons. I can take care of them even though they are one level ahead of me.

I should gather them in one place then use my skills in that area. Yes, I'm confident that it might work.

I'm hiding in a bush just a few meters away from three goblins who are walking together. I raised my staff while pointing at one of the goblins. I began visualizing a normal magic attack. A dark orb about the size of a basketball materialized for five seconds and launched towards my enemy.

'Phewww!'

"Argh!!!"

[Goblin Killed +100 XP]

An instant kill. My eyes went wide as I one-shot a monster six levels higher than me. This outfit I'm wearing certainly improved my status.

All the Goblins around me went alert as they heard a loud blast with the scream of their dead comrade. Looking at the map, they are coming towards my direction from different sides.

"The only way to gather them is to run at my left..."

Quickly, I ran to my left while the Goblins started to stampede while throwing spears and javelins towards me. Some of it hit me but this outfit help negating most of the damage and only decrease 10 of my HP.

Glancing at my back, I estimated about 30 Goblins will running rampant and don't stop chasing me. If already a few meters away from them so I can freely cast my skills.

"Blood is Power," I muttered, and my body began to bleed, it's as if someone invisible is attacking me because wounds started to open.

"Corrosive Poison Cloud." I shortly activated my second active skill. Poison clouds started to appear around me and the Goblins while I started to feel weak. But, they feel even weaker, and at the same time, bleeding.

Damage output started popping up above them.

While my passive skill Signet of Vampirism is regenerating my HP at a quick pace.

[Goblin Killed +100 XP]

[Goblin Killed +100 XP]

[Goblin Killed +100 XP]

[Congraulaions, you have level up!]

[Goblin Killed +100 XP]

...

The combination of Poison, Weakening, and Bleed is too fatal for low-level monsters like them. They are about 30 more of them but they started to die one by one. Their drops are also automatically transferred to my inventory. What a useful feature.

Thirty-plus monsters killed, and I'm currently level 17. I also learned two new active skills while my Battle Rating increase by 3900. Each level boosted my BR by 100 while learning new skills increased my BR by 1000. The two hundred additional BR I earned was using my two skills. Maybe it also leveled as well.

[Necrotic Grasp - Send out a grasping hand that damages foes in a line and grants you Hit Points.]

[Mark of Blood - Inscribe a mark that bleeds foes when they trigger it, and grants regeneration to you and your allies.

This time, my newly gained skills don't have any disadvantages and instead benefitted me. I think I'm going to like this new class. However, I still have to think again if I should focus to become a Necromancer or an Elementalist.

I honestly do love becoming a Necromancer but Elementalis is also a class that can summon creatures with different elements. These two classes have their own strength and weaknesses. I'll ask for advice from the rest of my guild members if we meet soon.

Before resuming, I checked my status.

[Shannah Leafwalker.]

Battle Rating: 8900

HP: 19000

MP: 24000

Dark Mage

Level: 17

Active Skills: Blood Is Power, Corrosive Poison Cloud, Necrotic Grasp, Mark of Blood.

Passive Skills: Signet of Vampirism.

And all I can say is that I think I'm the first player leading in the BR ranking board.
