VRMMORPG: World Online.

(AN: Most of the story is focused on the gaming world but I am slowly introducing the characters in the early chapters. Please bear with it :) )

My name is Shannah LeafWalker. Weird name right? I was adopted by a female gamer. Till now, in my 16 years of life, I still don't know the name of my father. My foster mother told me that my father left my mother when she got pregnant.

What a scum. A true scum of a man that didn't take his responsibility to his supposed to be wife and son. However, why did she know about the relationship with my parents? I don't want to ask. I'm interested but maybe she will just tell me one day.

"Shannah! Are you awake?"

"Yes. Just don't open the door yet... Nevermind."

Mamako Oosuki, my foster mother. She is a slender woman with a prominent bust, slender waist, and stands just a bit shorter than me. She has long wavy brown hair that is braided around her head and tied with a blue and red bow around the back. Overall, she is a beautiful woman.

My 26 years old foster mother adopted me when I was still in an orphanage. She's a gamer and a streamer. Mamako is also famous, that is why we don't have any financial problems. She's also single and I have never seen her with a man, I don't know about online though, maybe she's dating someone online.

"Oh?" Mamako got surprised. "You didn't tell me that you're still naked..."

I sighed. "I told you not to enter yet..."

"Ara ara... Acting ashamed in front of your mother?" She teased me with a smile. "Remember? We are always together taking a bath? And naked." She corrected me by swaying her index finger.

I answered. "I'm already 16. I should be. And that was already six years ago."

By the way, she changed my name using her money. Because of how a gamer she was, Mamako told me my name was related to Dark Elves from the game she played, World of Warcraft.

The reason why she thought of it was crazy because my face truly resembled an elf, but my ears were normal. However, I certainly look like one. Matched by my dark skin and natural white hair. Yes, my hair turned white completely when I turned 14. Or maybe Mamako dyed it secretly because she didn't ask a doctor to check me. She is sometimes crafty.

"Okay, now give your mother a morning kiss." She said and walk in front of me, pulling me into a hug.

"Really? We are still doing this..."

"You want to play the newly released game right? If you will not kiss me, I won't give it to you."

I have no choice, do I? Internally sighing, I looked at her face and kissed her cheeks. This woman.

In truth, I haven't been to a real school and today is my first time. I have only been studying online with a private teacher paid by Mamako. But now, I told her that I want to experience what school is. It's already 2nd term today but the school doesn't have any problems accepting me because of my grades.

"Now then, Nanako's daughter is waiting for you at their shop. She will be your guide and your classmate as well." Mamako said and tied my necktie properly.

"What was her name again? Kosaki Onodera?"

I asked. I honestly don't know who our neighbors are. And Nanako is the owner of a sweet shop, she's also a close friend of Mamako. Their shop is only a few minutes away from our house. I rarely go out and only play games, exercise, or study.

"Yes. She's an adorable girl, and I treat her like my daughter so you should treat her well okay?"

"Aye Captain..." I nonchalantly answered.

Both of us went to the kitchen and eat breakfasts lately does cook very delicious. Maybe she learned it online.

"Your creepy, Mother. Stop staring at me when I'm eating."

Mamako chuckled "I just thought about how will girls react when you arrive at school. You do know that you are handsome or maybe beautiful? Of a young man, right?"

"Well? Maybe my real mother is also beautiful? That is why I look like this." What I said made her cheerful expression turned a little bit sad. Still, she is trying her best to smile.

"But you know? I love you, mother. And I thank you for taking care of a worrisome creature like me." I stopped eating and looked at her face. Why are her cheeks turning pink? This is the first time...

"I... I also love you, Shannah, and I'm also happy to have you as my son." A tiny amount of tears dripped down from her eyes. This woman certainly is sometimes soft despite having a very cheerful personality.

Finished eating, I then proceed outside. Mamako hugged me for three minutes before letting me go. I understand why she is acting like this as this is also my first time leaving the house for 8 hours.

"Don't forget to eat lunch okay? If you're hungry, just eat your snacks and don't mind the teachers."

"I'm not a baby anymore... I'm going now. Bye, mother, Love you."

"I love you too sweetie!!!"

Gosh, this is so embarrassing. People are looking at me. I hastened my walk so that people will not recognize who she is trying to say goodbye with.

"This is the shop... right?"

Onodera sweet shop. A simple name but mother said it's the most famous sweet shop in this city.

"Is that you? Little Shannah?"

I heard a woman's voice. It's aunt Nanako and She is waving at me. I know her because she often visits our house to deliver the sweets ordered by my mother.

"Look how beautiful. I mean handsome you have become!" She complimented me while pinching my cheeks, she usually does this every time we meet.

"It's a miracle that your mother allowed you to leave your house." She awkwardly smiled.

"I'm already 16 aunt Nanako. She should allow me... And I told her that I want to experience what school is."

She nodded her head. "Your right!" Then, she grabbed my hand and dragged me inside her sweet shop. "Sit here and I will bring you your favorite sweets. Kosaki will be done soon. You know how women take their time when preparing, right?"

"I understand. My mother takes an hour to even prepare her pajamas."

Nanako laughed. "Haha! That's Mamako for you!"
