"Hey" I said to the wavy, browned haired girl as I saw her sitting on the bench. It's the director from the play, I saw her at the cafeteria this morning and asked her to meet me up this afternoon. I told her that I watched her musical play yesterday and want to ask something about the musical play. She agreed on it. The skies were orange and the campus is quiet, it's already afternoon and students already went home.
She stood up and smile, "Hey" and reach her hand out for a handshake.
"So, what do yo-"
"Your musical play is amazing like it's so awesome. I've seen a lot of school musical play but watching yours is so awesome and just unique. I just want to say that you are amazing directo-" I stopped as I notice her face went red as she stared at me, open-mouthed.
"T-Thank you" She said and glanced down. I smile as a reply, "But too bad the principal interrupted your school musical play, your musical play is awesome but why the principal interrupted though?" She sighs and still glancing down.
"Because it's explicit"
"Your school musical play is awesome and the part where the girl where she sang about to find the truth. She reminds me of me. So brave. It makes me wonder of what is the musical play is trying to convey to the audience."
"It makes me wonder what the story is about" I said as I laid my back on the bench, looking at her.
"On the play, the shadows depicts as a person's insecurities and if they gave into that insecurity of theirs, they'll die. I made that play it is because a lot of girls and boys easily give into their insecurity. I want them to listen to themselves and not to their insecurity. That just it. Not i-" As the director
"That's...woah. Like, really? Director, may i have the copy of your play, pleaseeee? I like it"
The director gave me an apologetical look. "I'm sorry but I burnt it. We had the agreement on the school principal but I did it against our agreement. And it's also explicit that's also the reason why I burn it"
"So, aside of explicit?"
The director avoids my gaze. Her phone suddenly rings, she pulled it out from her pocket and she looked at me, "Sorry. I gotta go. My mother is looking for me and it's also getting late, you should go home. Thanks by the way for coming to the musical play."
I'm about to ask her but she didn't wait for my reply and leave me with questions. I stood up and scratches my head. I sigh and looked at the director went her way, maybe the principal is too scary that she couldn't even present the play since the principal is against but why? A scaredy cat? I turned around, and went my way. I looked at my phone and texted Louie that he better prepare for Monday's party at Xamantha. I grabbed my bag and went outside the campus.
As I waited for the bus, I felt something after I went outside of the campus. The feeling is bugging me, I notice something. I forgot my textbook, it's on my locker.
I decided not to get it but I remember that Mrs. Potter nags me to catch up the Math lessons that I've skipped. I sighed out of defeat and went back to the campus. The campus is already quiet inside. The hallway is empty and quiet. It's almost 6 pm but no one turn the lights on in the hallways. It is strange to see a place that usually contains so much energy in such a quiet time of night. The reverb and echos from my footsteps made me feel uneasy.
I opened my locker and grabbed my text book and shut it, I automatically look at the side and a silhouette of a person, standing on the hallways. I'm stunned, the silhouette isn't moving.
"H-Hi, sorry. I was about to go home, I just forgot my textbook" I said as I briskly walk, avoiding the person's gaze by glancing down. As I walk, I saw her feet covered in blood. I stop on my tracks and slowly look up at her. It was Felicia.
Her long black haired that covered half of her face and her complete black eyes is visible. Her wide smile at me, I slowly walk backwards while still staring at her complete black eyes.
"Hi." Her voice almost fragile. "Help... the... others."
My textbooks fell to the ground as by the sight of her black Japanese uniform that is drenched in blood. Her hands are covered in blood. My heart beats faster as I walked backwards. I lost my balance as I stumbled on my textbooks and immediately closed my eyes and told myself that it is just another hallucination. Heavy breathing, I felt her colds hands touch me. I slowly opened my eyes and no wide creepy smile is seen nor complete black eyes.
"Hi."
I blinked and it's Felicia but no complete black eyes. I slowly stood up and she stood up as well. "You drop this" she said as she hands me my textbook.
"Thanks…" I said, still staring at her.
"No, I should thank you. Thank you for helping my sister, solving her case." She said glancing down and slowly walked back where I saw her earlier, her back in front of me. "And I thank you too for bravely helping me too. You are doing it for the others", she said, looking over her shoulder.
"Wai-" My sentence is cut off when the lights of the hallway suddenly turn on.
"What are you doing here? The campus is already closed", an old janitor on the east side of the other hallway asked as he drenched his mop on the bucket.
"I'm sorry, I forgot my textbook on my locker and I sa-" I said as I looked back in the hallway but to my surprise, she was nowhere to be found.
"What, kid?" the old janitor asked as he continues, mopping the floor. "Uh… nothing. Anyway, I'll go now. Bye" I said as I run towards the exit. Felicia's sentence invades on my mind.
Doing it for the others?
