The cloudy dark blue sky and the local store lights is open, it's a typical afternoon. The red and yellow checkerboard wall and customers busy chattering in the Grab N Eat Diner, I ordered nachos while waiting for Louie. Today is Xamantha's party and we are already an hour late.
I sighed and stared at my nachos, slowly chewing it.
I'm glad that I solved Cathlia's case because it was pretty easy to connect the dots with the evidences but about Felicia. It's vague and it's kind of hard for me to find some evidences. All I got from Felicia is that pinned ripped page from the board on the abandoned house. It's been also a while I haven't visit the abandoned house.
I quickly finished my nachos and went outside. I laid my back on the wall and stared at the distance, looking at Mrs. Foyer's house. The diner is near at Mrs. Foyer. I look at Mrs. Foyer's house, the house is empty and dark. No one is living there now after Mrs. Foyer died. I can imagine how her son struggle to cope of his mother's death. I was interrupted by my thoughts when someone poked me. It was Louie. I want to find some clothes for Louie to the party, as expected his style isn't great for a party.
I examine him head to toe, a white casual white dress shirt and a bow tie with suspenders and a plaid pants.
"I don't have any outfit" Louie said as he pushed his black thick rimmed glasses. I rubbed my forehead, knowing we are late, his outfit is not that great for a party.
"You should have told me of what you will wear so that I could find some clothes for you to wear for the party. Anyway, we are late. Come on"
Music blaring through the speakers and filled the house, girls and boys dancing and making out. Xamantha's house is huge and most of the people already occupied half of the living room. Long tables filled with red cups, food and bottles scattered and placed randomly on tables and couch. Some goes for skinny dipping and playing beer pongs. I smiled as I remember how good I am at beer pongs. I elbowed Louie, "let's play beer pong with them"
Louie looked at the guys playing beer pong, "No"
"Come on, Louie. It'll be fun" I said as I grabbed him and dragged him to where the guys played beer pong, "Hey, can we try?"
"Yeahh, sure!" the blonde guy said as hand me a ping pong ball. The blond guy along with his group move on the side as I took their place. I look at the red cups across the table and throw my ping pong and the ping pong ball plunged on one of the cups. The blonde guy and the other guys was amazed.
"Yooooo!" the blonde guy exclaimed in amazement. "You did that just in one shot like yooo!" another guy said from his group.
"You did that just in one shot." A brown haired guy said across the table as he handed me the cup with beer on it and chug it. "How about you try it?" A blonde guy said as he handed Louie a ping pong ball. Louie decline his offer.
"Come on, Louie. Try it" Louie took the ping pong ball from the blonde guy, walked towards me and took my place.
"I'm not good at this", Louie said as he looked at me before he throws the ping pong ball. "It'll be fine. Just throw it, this is just for fun."
Louie's hands were shaking as he throws the ping pong. It didn't get in. disappointed remarks is what Louie got from the blonde guy with his group. "Sorry" Louie said to the blonde guy with his group.
"Look, I'm not goo-" I patted Louie's shoulder. "It's fine. And you, guys." I said as I look at the blonde guy along with his group. "My friend here is not good at beer pong and I had my one shot sooo…"
"Try again and be on their team" a brown haired guy said across the table, crossing his arms.
"Yes, be on our team", the blonde guy said, looking at me.
"I can but…" I looked at the blonde guy. "But… apologize to my friend after giving him disappointed remarks" The blonde guy and his group look at Louie, and they apologize in unison.
Louie waved his hands and said that there is no need to apologize. The blonde guy and his group grabbed a chair and let Louie sit as I walked towards the table and took Louie's place. I smirked and look at the blonde guy, "You guys are lucky"
"Your one shot of beer pong is just luck" the brown haired guy said, his brows furrowed as he motions a guy to give me another ball. I smirked, "oh really?"
"Let the result do the talking" I said as I took the ping pong ball from one of the brown-haired guy's team. I I directed my ping pong ball, throw it, and it plunged again on one of the cups.
The blonde guy and his group exclaimed. "That is just luck" The brown haired guy said.
"Again"
The brown haired guy is frustrated as I got the ping pong balls in… again. Quite of a competitive guy.
"Let's have a 1 v 1" The brown haired guy said. "We should bet on it. I'll bet 20 dollars" he said as he placed his bet on the side of the table.
"Hey, it's okay." The blonde guy said, "you don't have to go that far, James"
I smiled at the blonde guy. "It's fine. This is easy for me." They look at me with a hesitated look. I looked at James.
"Okay, James. Just don't you cry later" I said as I placed 20 dollars on the side of the table. The blonde guy move to the side and they all look at me as I took turns with the brown-haired guy. but unluckily, he didn't get the ping pong balls in the cups.
"You are just fucking lucky!"
"Oh, I'm not. Hand it over" I said as I wait for him to hand me his 20 dollars. He handed me his 20 dollars. He grabbed his denim jacket. "You just got lucky!" and walked out and his group followed him behind.
"Why is he so mad at me?" I asked the blonde guy as I shoved my 20 dollars on my pocket.
"James is known to be the best when it comes to play beer pongs. I know beer pongs is for fun but to him, it's not. He is competitive. This is the first time he lost on a beer pong."
"I see. So, that's why he wanted me to try again and again. He presumably couldn't accept that the ping pong balls got in just in one shot."
"Presumably, yes. But heyyyyy, you are so awesome. I'm Jackson" he said as he reaches his hand out. "Lily" as I shake his hand.
"You are sooo cool like yooo" the other guy from his group said as they walked towards us and followed by Louie.
"Did you play beer pongs before?" another guy asked.
"Yeah. I went here for some excitement and saw you guys, playing beer pongs."
"Where are you from by the way?"
"From the city. Moved here because of my parent's decision"
"Ohhhhh!" they replied in unison.
"We should play beer pong sometime. Erick's birthday is coming soon and will hold a party", Jackson said, looking at his light brown haired friend.
"Thanks but I'm not sure. I'm pretty busy" I said as I pulled Louie.
"Oh…"
"And. I had fun, bye" I said, dragging Louie out of the group. Luckily, the music that blares through the speaker I can pretend that I didn't hear Jackson. I just don't like to associate with tons of people and be their friend. And I know where the conversation is going, he wants to ask for my email to what? To just chat? Don't have time for that.
"Chug! Chug!" I overheard as we walked through the crowd and saw Ivy drinking the red cup. Along with her friends, Ivy is drinking another cup. "Chug it, girlll!"
Ivy raised her cup as she finished and our eyes met each other.
