Chapter 6

As Aaron was walking out of the inn next morning, he finally started to get jittery.

Like how someone get ahead of opening that admittance letter of a university or a college.

"Obey the rules of the aptitude testing center. Dont be rash and listen to what the mages there tell you."

Anderson went on and on about following the rules. It was apparent that he was nervous himself.

When Aaron finally reached the centre, he saw a two storied building standing on the spot. There was a trident symbol with lighting falling on it engraved near the entrance of the building. It seemed to be the emblem of the place. When he entered the building he saw a middle aged man wearing a medal with the same symbol on his chest. It was black in colour with the symbol painted in gold.

The man saw the child looking at his mage medal and said " this is an official medal only a mage is allowed to wear. Its a proof that we are official mages apointed by the mages association. "

That makes sense thought Aaron. It was like an ID issued on earth. Atleast something similar to it.

"We are here to take the magus aptitude test for this young boy." Anderson said to the middle aged man.

"8 years old eh? Sure. You just need to fill in the form and wait for your turn. "

Hearing that Aaron finally turned towards a group rather three groups of people already there.

The kids were dressed in much better clothes than Aaron and had a superior air about them. Seeing the number of people around them, it could be seen they were from a wealthy family at least.

"Looks like today is quite busy at the Mage association." Anderson remarked. Aaron felt as if Anderson talked a lot when he was nervous.

One of the servants from the group heard this. He seemed to point towards Anderson and said something to the man who looked like the one who lead a group. He came to Anderson and introduced himself.

"Hello there. I am Robert. I came over from Blackwood town. Which place are you from?"

Anderson had heard of that place and knew it was famous for its black wood which gave the name to the town.

"I am Anderson and the young one with me is Aaron. Pleased to meet you. We are from Willows den."

"Good, good. I hope each of us do well in the selection today"

Once the man knew they were from such a remote area, he was pretty sure they weren't anyone important. So he left in a hurry.

"You too. Best of luck."

Once all the formalities were done, the four youngsters were led to a different room.

It was a clean white room with a giant transparent glass sphere standing on a pedestal.

"When I call upon your name, you need to come towards this glass sphere and place both your hands on it. I will place my hands as well and circulate my magical force. If you are compatible to be a mage, the seal which stops you from circulating your magical force will be broken and the magical force would be circulated within your body lighting up the sphere. If you arent compatible, the sphere would have no reaction."

"Judging from the colour of light produced I can determine the basic attribute of your magical force. Attribute means what kind of mage you will be. I will explain it further when and if you pass the test."

All of this made sense to Aaron, two persons and the sphere made a closed circuit, if the wires didn't have too much resistance, current would flow and light up the bulb. It looked like even magic followed basic principles of science.

"Alright I will now start with you all."

Soon the three kids who arrived before Aaron were called one upon one. The kids hesitantly put there hands on the sphere but unfortunately it showed no reaction for each of them. And at last it was Aaron's turn.

"Aaron Rosil. Come forward" called the middle aged man.

Aaron moved towards the pedestial. His heart beating faster with each step. If he truly had the capability to be a mage, he would achieve something which no one in the official recorded history of earth was able to achieve.

"Alright, put your hands on the sphere."
