The Army was getting closer and closer, and it was only then that the rest of the crew began to notice them.
"W-who are they?" Pato asked nervously.
"Judging from the weapons that they're holding, maybe soldiers?" Stussy replied.
"How'd they know that we were here? We just got here, do they know Observation haki?" Ken asked thoughtfully.
Many others kept asking more questions and commenting over the army's sudden appearance, but they all were immediately on guard when they finally arrived in front of us and stopped. The leader immediately walked right in front of us before stopping right in front of me. He was smaller than me, so he had to look up, but that didn't stop him from looking at me with arrogance.
"We have no place for outsiders, leave now while we're asking peacefully," the leader ordered.
"I'm simply here to collect something, I have no intention of staying here for a long time," I replied to him calmly.
"That isn't any of our concern, leave or we will resort to violence," the leader ordered.
"There won't be any violence, if you just give me what I want," I responded indifferently.
The air was slowly getting tense by the second, and the Birkan's had already raised their weapons and started pointing them at us, and the crew had their weapons out ready for action at any point of time.
I continued to stare at the leader of the Birkan army as he slowly pulled out his sword. The blade slowly darkened as he covered it with Armament haki, and he was more than ready to swing at me.
"This isn't a fight you're going to win, you know," I stated calmly.
"Likewise."
It was then, someone from the crowd let out a cannon fire that aimed right at the ship. One of the crewmembers immediately used Moonwalk and Soru to appear in front of the ship, and kick the cannonball out of the way. Leading it to explode a little bit over the ship. However, that was all that was needed for the fight to start.
The leader immediately jumped to my height and swung his Armament haki clad blade, aiming right at my throat. However, I immediately coated my neck with Armament haki, leading to a sound of metal clashing when he landed the swing.
I immediately took that oppurtunity to grab him by the neck. He tried to avoid my hand, but it wasn't like he could move perfectly midair. So it wasn't hard for me to grab him by the neck and hold him like that. The attacking Birkans, upon seeing that I had already incapacitated their leader, immediately stopped their assult and turned their weapons to aim at me.
"You bastard! Let him go!" One of the soldiers said.
My crewmembers immediately were about to attack, but someone's voice immediately rung out throughout the entire scene.
"I'd put him down if I were you."
I immediately spread my Observation haki to detect the source of the voice. It rang out like it had been everywhere, but the source of the voice had actually been quite high in the sky. He had somehow managed to bypass my Observation haki, but the irregularity had already caught my attention.
I immediately looked right at the irregularity with a frown on my face. I could sense a lot of lightning converging in that area, and that only meant one thing.
"He's the previous Rumble-Rumble fruit user," I immediately concluded.
The original plot had never really mentioned who was the previous user of that Devil Fruit, it only mentioned that it had always been in the island of Birka before Enel decided to destroy it.
Slowly, a man emerged from the lightning convergance, and slowly made his way down towards the scene. All the Birkan soldiers immediately bowed down to the man and kept on chanting the same thing.
"Glory to Birka's Lord!!!"
"Glory to Birka's Lord!!!"
They kept chanting that even after he had landed, giving me the oppurtunity to fully analyze this man's appearance.
He was as tall as I was, standing at a proud 10 feet tall, his long brown hair messily fell on his shoulders partially covering a chiseled face that had a pointed nose and a sharp jawline. His eyes, were pitch black, but his ears had been stretched out partially, just like Enel's. It must have been tradition to do that to your ears, but it didn't matter.
In his hands, he held a large spear that nearly rivaled us in height, it was covered partially in gold and seastone. His small wings partially stretching out to assert his dominance, he gave out an air of confidence, almost as if just him appearing had immediately resolved the situation.
"Tresspassing in Birkan Territory is a punishment that is corrected only by death," the man said calmly, yet confidently, "We have done nothing more but show you mercy, so why do you spit on our faces like so?"
I looked at him before sighing completely in defeat, this situation had just gotten ten times more annoying for me.
"I had something I needed to do here, but now things just got complicated."
"It doesn't matter what you came here to do, an undeniable fact is that you have refused to leave peacefully, and now you will suffer the wrath of those who dare tresspass into Birka," the man laughed as he pointed his spear towards the heavens.
Slowly, a storm began to form right on top of our heads, the man continued smiling as he kept pointing his spear at the sky. Blue lightning immediately began to slither and strike about, partially surprising my crewmembers as they all looked at the man cautiously.
"You should consider this an honor," the man chuckled causually after lightning immediately struck his spear, giving it a malevolent blue glow as he lowered it, "to have personally antagonized a god like me, not many have lived this long."
"Do all Rumble fruit users have a God complex?" I retorted.
It was then that he raised his free hand and stretched his palm towards us.
"100 million volt damnation!"
A large blast of blue lightning immediately emerged from his hand and was about to quickly engulf the crew and I with lightning.
I quickly summoned two of my dragon heads on both of my shoulders before releasing a lightning blast of my own. The two blasts, immediately collided together, and it became a desparate struggle between blue and silver. The immediate shockwave that the collision had produced had sent nearly all the crewmates and soldiers flying away as we started to compete for dominance in that collision.
The collision went on for a while before we simultaneosly broke the collision, releasing the lightning from both ends. When the dust and smoke cleared, the two of us remained standing, unscathed.
"You're pretty strong, to be able to survive that," the man responded.
"We're just getting started, Birkan," I replied.
"Do you actually think you can go against me?! A God?!!" the man exclaimed, surprised.
"I really don't care what you are, I just have to kill you so that I can get what I want," I replied.
"Insolence! I won't tolerate your arrogance any more!"
With that, he lunged at me, spear in hand.
I got visitors this week. So I'll be dropping a chapter a day.
Just like last time.
Love y'all!!!
