Vergil POV

The Auction had ended a few minutes ago, and May and I were waiting for the purchased items to arrive. All the items that were bought were sent through special channels. They did not disclose the exact method, so I wasn't sure how they were being transported. If I had to guess, it would probably be through matter transportation using two contact points. Objects can be easily transported using this method, forming a relay system. It's quite an innovative idea if this is indeed what they are using.

"young master do you want me to find about that guy" May asked

"it wont be necessary someone would tell us about him" I said as I closed my eyes and was secretly training my mana flow

"what do you mean?" May asked confused about the situation

"Wait and see" I said with a mysterious smile

"But master aren't you worried, looked to me that guy had some background" May asked she was a little concerned

" May lemme ask you this, why was that arrogant fool so adamant on buying that ancient tome despite increasing the price above 100000 G " I asked her instead

"Because he is a magician and he needed it" May said as she thought for a moment

"True, but that also means he did not have access to such resources" I said as I added

"Young master you mean that arrogant fool's family was not strong enough to have such treasures" May said as she understood what I meant

"Exactly, you see not every noble family has such treasures, I asked father why once about this, he told me that high noble rank does not necessarily means strong background, meaning that maybe his family is higher in rank but in terms of background our family may not loose to him" I said although something still confuses me why is my father still a baron I asked him once but he brushed off

"and also on the off chance I am wrong, even then do you believe I will loose to insignificant trash like him" I said as I smiled at May

"Of course not May, how could you loose" May said as she was embarrassed at her previous question

I just chuckled at her, at the same time

Knock knock

"come in" I said, the door opened I thought it was Simon but I was surprised it was Akane the auction host, she seem to be carrying a box probably with my item

"Good Evening Young noble Winchester, please allow me introduce my self my name is Akane Scarlet " she said as she bowed, truly befitting of her name flaming red hair, ruby eyes, and a beautiful red dress with scarlet high heels

"Yeah, good evening. I think you already know me so I will skip the introduction's" I said although she is beautiful but recently I have a lot of contact with beautiful girls making me somewhat immune. Simon must have already told her

"This your item also since its young nobles first time here, the guild has decided to give a ten percent discount" She said as she gave me the box

"No need for that I can still afford this little money " I said as I took the box and placed in my space pocket

Akane eyes dimmed a bit seeing me either not opening the petroglyph or me refusing discount, may be both

"So be it Young noble, than will you accept this" she said as she took out a Gold card with 'sorcerer society' engraved on it

"This is A VIP card of our establishment in future you can directly avail twenty percent off on any items from our house" She explained as she passed me the card

I looked at the card pondering for the reason they gave me this card but still I accepted it

"Then I will thankyou in advance" I said with a smile as I held the card

"Also young master, as thanks for your earlier help we would also like you an extra gift" she said as she smiled like a little fox

She approached closer to me, May wanted to stop her but I held her back because I could not feel any sinister intentions

She put her knees near my legs as she leaned forward and said something in my ears, I could smell the pleasant smell of rose my face heating up a little

"The identity of the person in room 19 is Marcus Addercrest, the youngest son of Count Addercrest" she said as she whispered in my ear

I panicked a little at her action, but than calm down , Marcus Addercrest seemed like my guess was right

May could not take it any more as she pulled her off me as she stood in front of me

"Miss Scarlet please maintain distance from my lord" Her voice cold and full of killing intent

"Fufu... I was merely joking Miss maid please calm yourself" Unfazed by her killing intent, it would seem this lady is not as simple as she seemed

"Than young master would you like anything else for today" she said as she looked at me and winked

May eyes getting even more dangerous, But I held her hand and pulled her away

"I do have something that I require but I don't know if the guild can accomplish that" I asked as I played with the card trying to calm my emotion's

"Please ask young noble we will try our best " she said as a smile formed on her face

"I would like....." I told them the other things I would like to buy

As she listened to me the smile on her face brightened, clearly she knew what was the use of these items

"At once young noble" she said as she bowed

Third POV

It was nighttime outside as we had stayed for quite a long time in the Auction. Most of the stalls were closed, and only a few shops remained open. The lights in the street were maintained by magical inscriptions, forming a sharp contrast to its previously lively self.

May and Vergil left the Auction house as they made their way back to their ride to go home.

"It's been fun today, May," Vergil said as he smiled.

"Yeah, it would be really fun for you," May said in a muffled voice.

"Are you still angry from before?" Vergil teased.

"Of course not, young master. How could I be angry at you for being so interested in that vixen?" May said, pouting.

"Okay, I am sorry, May. I really did not expect her to do that," Vergil sighed helplessly.

"Humph," May still seemed a bit angry.

"If you want, I can also do that," May said in a small voice, her face red.

"What do you say?" Vergil turned towards her, not having heard properly.

"Nothing... Anyways, young master, you are still young. Please refrain yourself from these... these things," she said, brushing off her hair.

"Yes, yes, I will try not to let the same thing happen again," Vergil replied sheepishly.

As they were both walking towards their ride, suddenly both May and Vergil stopped, with May nearing Vergil.

"Young master," May said, her voice a little serious.

"I know... we are surrounded," Vergil said as he looked around.

"Come out, I know you are there," Vergil said, looking towards his left.

"Hehe... Young master, I must say I'm impressed by your instincts," a middle-aged man emerged from the darkness behind him, followed by a few other people in black cloaks. he had a thin lean appearance with a scar running across his eyes

"Good evening, young master. I am Squall, the second in command of 'Dark Night,'" he said, showing a fake smile, as he bowed

"And what pleasure do I owe this visit?" Vergil said with a calm face.

"We would like to invite young master to our establishment, I believe my boss would love to meet you " he said, making a gesture of invitation.

"And if I refuse?" Vergil asked, looking straight at Squall.

"Then we would probably have to use some forceful measures," he said, his smile becoming a little sinister, he waved his hands and there was movement in the darkness

Vergil and May observed a few more cloaked persons appearing from multiple sides, some of whom could also be seen on the roof.

"Young master, a total of 20 people, only 3 high-level 4-star warriors," she said in a low voice that only Vergil could hear.

Vergil also looked around, his eyes gleaming with unknown intentions. after a few seconds of silence

"Sure why not, I am also a little curious about your boss" Vergil said as he smiled

"hehe.... You will surely like it" Squall said as he maliciously laughed
