Katie... a friend?

Merry had been waiting for her friends since forever and the sun had been down for a long time. But, there was no sign of them coming back.

She had never felt a brief span or to say a day like eternity. Her eyes were getting heavy, she was finally feeling the exhaustion of all those unexpected happenings.

She was laying down on the couch uncomfortably, one small movement and she would fall from the couch.

Just then, she heard someone opening the door. It was Katie.

"Hey, you are back," Merry said getting up.

""Yeah, it got over for the day," Katie replied sitting next to Merry.

"What did you do today?"

"Was it the same as every day or did you do something new?"

Even though Merry had lots of mixed feelings about these trainings and tests, she was at the same time curious about those.

"Yeah, it was a little bit different today. The instructor was constantly hovering around me."

"For the training sessions, we had exercises in the morning and rest of the classes were for finance, psychology, law and ehm... I don't know. I was so bored."

"Ah.. okay, it was your first day, you will get used to it."

"Yeah, I really hope that I get used to it, otherwise I have no idea how I'm gonna study all those lessons."

"Is there something to eat? I'm starving."

"You haven't eaten anything?"

"No, I had some sandwiches. There's a canteen in the building."

"I didn't know that, really!"

"Yeah, I saw it in the morning. Then, after class I asked my instructor if I could get anything from the canteen. I was allowed to go there in the break between the lessons."

"Let's go there someday together. What do you say?"

"Yes, but I am not even allowed to leave the dorm on my own. I don't think I will be able to go there with you."

"Oh Merry, don't be disheartened. Everybody is getting a little more freedom day by day, I am sure same thing will happen to you too," Katie said while hugging her trying to comfort Merry.

They had almost lived together for a week in the same dorm, but it was the first time they had such a talk between them. It surely made them feel more closer to each other.

As she was hungry, Katie brought some food that was delivered to them in the afternoon, out in the living room and started to eat.

"Do you want some?" she asked Merry.

"No, I'm not hungry. You have it."

"It's no good waiting for them."

"What?"

"Aren't you waiting for Cole?"

"Yes, and.. also for Henry and William," Merry replied hurriedly.

"Hehe!" Katie gave a little chuckle and said,"I know but there's no say on when they will be able to return so, you should probably have something and go to sleep."

"Yeah."

"Ooh! I almost forgot to ask, weren't you guys together in the sessions? So, how come they haven't finished yet?" Merry asked Katie while following her in the kitchen.

Katie had finished her food and was walking towards the kitchen. She stopped in her tracks which nearly caused Merry to bump with her.

She answered,"We weren't together except in the morning. I haven't seen them after that."
