Thea’s POV
“Well, I must be on my way. While I have enjoyed this engaging conversation, I’m afraid my duties as Alpha require my attention,” The Alpha says, standing from the deep blue air chair.
As the Alpha finally takes his leave, the weight of his presence dissipates, leaving a palpable sense of relief in the room. Ms. Victoria gracefully escorts him to the door, exchanging pleasantries as she bids him farewell. She closes the living room door behind them, and with a soft click, the immediate threat seems to recede.
Hudson and I are left alone in the eclectic living room, the silence momentarily enveloping us. I exhale a breath I didn't realize I was holding, the tension of the encounter slowly easing from my shoulders. As I glance at Hudson, a nervous energy lingers in the air.
"Do you think he knows?" I ask, my voice barely above a whisper.
