A Coffee Date

Thea’s POV

A soft knock echoes through the quiet cabin, and when I open the door, there stands Hudson, a warm smile on his face. "Hey, Thea. Want to go grab a coffee with me?" he asks a glimmer of anticipation in his eyes.

A smile tugs at the corners of my lips. "Absolutely. Just let me grab a jacket." I slip on a cozy jacket over my warm sweater, a shield against the steadily colder weather that blankets the forest as the wedding day draws near.

As we step outside, the crisp air bites at our cheeks and the scent of pine lingers around us. The forest, a silent companion to our shared moments, seems to welcome the respite from the constant wedding preparations.

As we walk towards the coffee shop, I can't help but ask, "What brought on the idea of going to get coffee together?"

Hudson's eyes meet mine, his expression is sincere. "Well, I thought you could use some time away from Emma's constant wedding planning. And, to be honest, I just want to spend some time with you. Just us."
