"Whoa, I should really cut my hair." Paul realized his sense of time is skewed when knowing you are immortal, good thing his soul is rock solid making him calm down and not have any panic attacks. He also had changed into simple peasant attire and he found a small land to farm himself.
It was very therapeutic for him since it was a great change of pace, so he spent most his time there reading up on the scrolls he got from the various loot and even arranged them on his spare time. He did try to practice those written inside some tomes but he found out he was so untalented in cultivation.
But maybe that would have been explained that the world he has barely have any energies similar to that last reality he had been. But it was then he found the Body cultivators branch, he did encounter some meatheads who just wanted to fight him before and it made him understand that this was their field of expertise.
And since he is not a walking bank of treasures he could probably try to practice these tomes with all the herbs and potions he has with him. But before he did he immersed himself in the Alchemist department as he should try to plant the herbs he has on the scroll world.
It has a very wide space in it that maybe could fit the whole of India in it. Paul could also see different seasons there and remembered he looted this from an old fossil that was supposed to have been a renowned Alchemist. But that guy has some serious pedo issues so Paul gave him a special edition Nut Cracking service courtesy of his telekinetic powers.
It already has a preexisting garden in it and even got some animals that seemed exotic but they were mostly medicinal in nature and almost gentle in manners. There was also a library with all the books related to being an Alchemist inside which Paul enjoyed very much. He also found a small building where lots of caged animals were found in small biomes, he learned that they were also useful because some body parts of theirs could be used as ingredients.
Nothing much happened in the medieval world other that war here and war there but Paul was mostly not interested since he was in a remote side of a mountain that is very hard to access. Him studying the herbology books did make him a great farmer thus gaining him a hermit status from the people on the nearest town.
It wasn't until ten years that he noticed the change of day within the Marvel Universe. Making him have forty more years to travel this world, also he found out just to be a regular medieval earth in the 2nd century. So he made a small trip around the world to get various precious metal he could find, and even if he sucked at cultivation he was still able to rise up to the third level the Golden Core/Bronze Skin stage out of nine stages.
Though it only raised his base strength to ten tons from his initial two tons it was still an exponential rise of you factor in his skills from Might Guy. Paul was happy as he progressed in his cultivation which was a snail's pace even with all the pills and potions he used. Good thing his body can process the so called impurities making his power more stable than any other cultivator.
Paul learned to even sail as he got some manuals about artifact building too which made him a great builder. But he still could not combine it with modern technology since the other practice has runes and formations in it that needed to be followed.
But sooner maybe Paul could understand how to make these storage rings because he liked the thought of making one of his own. Many crazy ideas were popping out but he knew he needed more data, one thing he learned that even with a great soul and godly processing talent in his mind, is that he still does not have that same creativity a real genius has.
Paul's mind was more of a rule stickler guy even if he himself couldn't explain why when his powers were not even following the rules in the first place. But for now he plans to make his Scroll garden into a great farmland while he transferred the building with different biomes in the Earring world which was just half the size of the scroll world.
But it was enough to house the thousands of animals inside which Paul does not know most of the names. His ship also was a convertible which he can transform into a carriage by taking out some parts and have ten water buffalos pull it.
He did actively avoid the human settlements he found as he even went somewhere no one would try to look for. He went mining under the sea as he exploited the various resources there. He even found many radioactive elements which he stored in different rings depending on what they are.
Paul had been busying himself in travelling all around as he felt free and alive, this was something he did not experience before and he wanted to do it right now as he felt very second counts. One thing he knows is that you don't get to have such powers without a price.
(A/N: He still does not know it's free since he has no idea what happened to his last home, so he still thinks he gained these powers with a purpose. Though it was just a coincidence from a miscalculation made by a young creation god in his last world.)
Paul spent two decades wandering the planet and even thought of trying to go outside the planet to harvest asteroids. This was because he found meteoric iron to be really tough which prompted him to gather every asteroid that fell on earth. Though some slipped since he did not notice it from far away or it was on the other side of the world.
Paul was even able to gather some Dodo birds and Thylacine which were almost extinct. This got him to realize he has developed a hoarder's mentality as he wandered and collected extinct animals back on the Marvel world.
From Yangtze river dolphin, some extinct birds, Vaquita, Pinta Island Tortoise, Quaggas, Pyrenean Ibex, Golden Toad, Extinct and Endangered Tiger, Caribbean Monk Seal, different types of bears, Chinese Paddle Fish, hundreds of Giant Pandas, Blue Whales and other too, Mountain Gorillas and other extinct and endangered great apes, Extinct and Endangered Elephants, Extinct and endangered rhinoceroses, extinct and Endangered Lions and other big cats, Various species of wolves, other turtle species as well, Kakapos, Whale sharks, Chinese giant Salamanders, black footed ferrets and many small critters.
Paul made a special biomed building have more subspaces which he placed the various animals there to populate. He was able to create dozens of simple golems which were not a good as the robots he has because his skills in artifact making is still subpar at best.
He needed to give them present commands which made them routinely give food and harvest the farms he has. They can only follow few specific orders and that was it, he cannot program them to have initiative yet because that was a very delicate level to have to make one.
He did try to make a proto-type with a pseudo- technological golem but he still can't create one that'll work. He also got a lot of animals populate the rivers and seas within his three worlds, the Orb was the smallest which was a fifth of the Scroll world but it was more of a small round planet with a complete atmosphere in it.
The other two were flat earth kind of worlds which has a visible boundary. The one in the orb has artificial stars and sky in it with a working 24 hour rotation and adjustable gravity. It worked more like a training area but Paul did not use it like that at all, at least he has no shortage of food when he carries three whole continents in his person.
After is world tour Paul was bored and thought that maybe he should have go back home. So packing up everything he has as well as the various things he made he found himself alone in a mountain top and conjured a portal home. Paul then took a step forwards but what greeted him was a vast dried up desert with no signs of life and still riddled with signs of destruction.
Paul frowned at the sight as the smell of dry air made him realize where he was, he forgot to pinpoint to the marvel world and thought of home so he subconsciously brought himself here.
Looking around he felt sad as he found the whole place very depressing, taking a deep breath he started to float and flew to a direction flying aimlessly. But time went by all he could see was the scars of the world speaking of the amount of suffering the people went through.
Deep inside he still longs for someone, somewhere out there is still alive and tell him what happened but there was still silence. Deafening silence as he flew over the broken remains of civilizations, he stood above broken cities trying to see if there were people trapped inside but all he could receive is more silence.
As time goes by Paul looked more forlorn than ever as he felt that he would get no answers when every place is broken beyond repair. It wasn't until the night has come that Paul was just floating nowhere silently as he fully accepted there is no one left any more.
"AAARRGGHHHH!!!!!!!"
*BOOM!!!*
Paul screamed in frustration as he let out the full force of his anger towards the world, yet nothing answered his sadness but more silence. Landing down he sat on rubbles of what was left of his world, looking blankly forward as he realized him wandering with his powers was his way of running away from the cold truth.
His home is gone and he doesn't know why, so maybe when he thought of home he led himself here because one day he still needed to accept the fact that he is now a different person than he was ever before.
Looking up the sky Paul was silent as he stared at the stars, he does not know who to blame and what really happened so maybe the best thing to do is to leave a memory that there was a civilization that existed here.
Feeling that this might be a thing he must do, Paul stood up and spread his telekinesis power to the fullest of its abilities and covered the entire planet. He could see it all, the craters, dried up rivers, bare forest, blackened seas and torn up mountains. He could feel it all as he spread his powers, making him surer that nothing is left alive in this planet.
A tear left his eye as he willed his powers to gather various items from all over the world. He took all of the precious minerals, metals and stones with him as he started to make pyramids twice the height of Mt. Everest within each continent made of hard bedrock.
Though not knowing much of what happened after, he wrote the history of this planet level by level of the pyramid using wall carvings and statues. He wrote all he could remember as well as various knowledge he got from many history professors from the Marvel world. But he did not include the superhero stuff yet put in the various mythologies and things like that.
It was not all accurate but he got the details from the 15th century and forward as detailed as possible. It took about one day until Paul got everything he could find that were of indication of his last worlds civilization, he did find the underground laboratory which has many advanced medical equipment that might be restorable for him.
It was then the rays of the sun shining upon his face that Paul realized he has spent a day here making him think of his multiversal map in his head. Thankfully it was still January 21st on the Marvel world so he looked behind him and saw his creation, he then made one last mark on the top of every pyramids.
[Aliens built this…]
Maybe one day another species of sentient beings will live in this planet and they too will be confused about these pyramids as he did not leave any indication they were built block by block but more like carved from one gigantic stone.
"I wonder how long will this prank come to fruition?" Paul smiled and was about to open a portal when a small mental message appeared in his head.
'h-help…me…..'
Paul paused as he spread his telepathic powers in full mode trying to find this mental signature. Soon he found it to be at the North Pole so he flew there as fast as he could that he left sonic booms from where he stood. Paul arrived at the broken ice caps and looked around as he followed where the voice came from.
"WHERE ARE YOU?!" Paul shouted as well as give out an earth wide mental message.
'I-I'm here…. C-co-come to me...'
Paul was able to find a tunnel under an undersea volcano which he followed some tunnels but the longer he goes on made Paul skeptical because from what he could tell with his senses, he is already supposed to be in the Mantle.
'My ch-child…come….'
He heard the voice again which made Paul try to see what was making the mental thought. It wasn't until he was greeted by some light that he found himself in an underground cavern filled with glowing moss, but there were nothing else in sight.
"I a-am here…" a weak voice sounded out which made Paul look at the middle of the cavern where there was a pond. Flying closer he saw a silhouette of someone making him hasten his approach but when he reached there he was shocked.
He found a woman with leaves as her hair and moss all over her body but that was not what shocked Paul at all. It was her various wounds and the weird feeling of closeness that made him halt in his way.
"Wh-who are you?" Paul asked in concern which made him shocked as to why he felt such feelings.
"*sigh* I was losing hope-*cough*- when my champion has died but t-to think a ch-*cough*-child of mine still lives…" The woman full of motherly grace reached out to Paul's face as he kneeled nearer. Paul does not know why but he felt safe and cared for when her fingers touched his face.
"I don't have-*cough*-time left but it… gladdens me that one still survives… I am hap-happy you are here.." said the woman as she slowly seemed to lose consciousness.
"Wait wait wait! What do you mean you don't have time? Who are you and why are you here? Tell why the world is destroyed please!" Paul panicked as he looked at the weakening woman.
"It- it is no use… my source has already been broken by those-*cough*- people…I am the spirit of…of the planet…*cough*. I tried to prote-tect you all but i…I am too weak to fend of the inevitable…*cough* So please live my child… live and remember that you….you are one of my children…" the woman was somehow holding on until now as felt relaxed knowing one of the people she cared for survived.
"No no no, you haven't answered my question yet. What can I do to save you?" Paul was feeling that if he does not save her he would have no idea who did this to his world. Hearing that somebody might be responsible made him want to get back at these 'people' the woman was talking about.
"There is nothing y-you can't…do for me, only connecting to a healthy world would save me…but the closest is not even in…this solar s-system." The woman smiled as she saw the care Paul has in his eyes. She does not know how he survived as she was unconscious due to the amount of damage that she has.
She only woke up when she felt the planet changed a bit, though she could not see what happened as she was weakened greatly. She still sent out a mental call which gladly worked, she could somewhat feel what power Paul has with him because he is one of the people that was born on her planet.
But sadly he has no reality bending powers that could enable him to make a temporary host for her. But she did not know her words made Paul's eyes shine as an orb came out of his chest making her shocked at how she did not notice that.
One thing Paul learned before was to hide the energies given out of the various artifacts that he has with him. This includes the artifacts like world scroll, earring and orb.
"W-where did you ge-*cough*- get a sealed planet?!" the woman was confused as she looked at Paul who did not waste time and pulled her into the small planetoid. Taking her to a underground pond somewhat similar to the one she got making her shocked as she found out the planet was unclaimed, though there is a slight aura similar to Paul radiating within.
"So can you use this one instead?" Paul looked expectantly at the woman who was shocked as she looked around but she still nodded nonetheless as she was being placed down carefully by Paul.
"Y-yes…I can recover in this world…but I'll be asleep for a long time." The woman looked at Paul waiting for him to give the signal as this was not her world to claim unless she got the go from the owner. She was surprised as she had been asleep for hundreds of years since her champion died.
"Go ahead, I can wait." Paul said as he kneeled beside the lady holding her hand as she nodded back to Paul giving him on last look.
"My name is many…but you can call me Gaia…" said the woman as she slowly closed her eyes while roots came out of the ground to form a bed where she lay peacefully. The cave somehow turned into a peaceful place where green lights come from the ceiling and fall towards the sleeping woman.
"I see…"Paul said as he looked at the woman, understanding why he felt a strong motherly presence on her. And she was the first who he could not read as her mind was not something he could get through even in her weakened state. She did feel Paul's probe but she did not mind, she even wanted to give him access but then she could not go into recovery if her mind is open before sleeping, maybe when she wakes up she'll let Paul take a peek.
