BUTTERFLY

"Mom! Dada!" Quickly running, I hurriedly went inside our house to inform them what I saw.

They both looked shocked at my sudden coming. Looking at me with their widening eyes, I smiled and bit my lower lips. Seems like I went in, at the wrong time as it looks like they were discussing some important manners.

"Sweetheart, I thought you'll be back at lunch? It's only been an hour since you went away,"

"Mom, look at this!" I giggled as I showed them the cat lying down in my arms.

"Where did you find that Elizabeth?!" I was shocked by my Mom's hysterically loud voice.

They both stood up in shock after seeing the cat that I was holding in my arms. My mind was confused and at the same time curious about why are they acting this way. They both went in my direction, with their widened eyes, walking at such a slow pace.

'Mom, why are you acting this way? I don't understand a thing," My eyes squinted in doubt, looking at them curiously.

They both took a deep breath, calming themselves down. The cat shifted its position, gathering my attention. I patted her head as her blue eyes looked at me inwardly.

"Where did you get that cat?"

"In the forest Mom, the one I told you earlier. Why are you even acting like this?" I answered honestly. Looking at them both with curiosity reflecting in my eyes.

"It's just that… that was a special type of cat, Elizabeth. And there are only less than 10 cats that has the same species like this one." My Dad, Ismael has clean-cut dark golden brown hair. My dad's eyes were in the shade of light green.

"But… I can keep this cat, right, Mom?" I asked in a low voice, whispering it right through the air.

"Yes, you can, but be a careful sweetheart. It is said that these species of cats were once the guardians of our deities who firstly ruled the world." It was my mom's sweet voice that echoed through my ears.

"I do understand, Mom." Biting my lower lips, I nodded at her words looking straightly at her green eyes that have the same shade as my dad although her long and wavy hair is in the color of Light Auburn.

I greeted them with goodbyes and went into my room in a quick manner. Placing the cat in my bed, I took some cleaning tools in my bathroom. I took a deep breath, seeing my reflection in the mirror.

The white dress that was hugging my body was already dirty, because of the soil and the dust that came from where I have been to earlier. My golden-brown hair that I got from my dad was flowing softly, reaching my shoulders.

I decided to change my clothes into a light nude-colored one. It was hugging my body perfectly up onto my knees. I smiled as I felt my body lighten up a little bit. I went out, seeing her laying peacefully lying down the bed.

I giggled as she looks cute in her place. Going near, I went beside her little body, cleaning the small wound on the cat's arms. I carefully and gently patted the cotton on the cut that was caused by the fallen branch of a tree. I made a face when the cat whined in pain, making me somewhat nervous.

"Baby, are you okay now?" I asked worriedly seeing the pain reflecting in her eyes.

The cat seems to understand what I am trying to say as she licks my hand that was sitting on top of her head. I giggled and took a deep breath out of relief. I was thinking about what to feed her.

"Wait here, okay? I will just find something that you can eat," I smiled as I said my goodbye.

I slowly walked past the bed going through outside. The marbled floors were extravagant to look at, highlighting the white painted walls. Paintings that were passed from generation to generation.

The high windows, acting like the passageway for the sunlight to enter through the house. The long staircase on the right side was made out of oak woods, complimenting the marbled floors.

Walking down, my steps echoed through the whole place. I smiled, seeing my mom in the kitchen making our lunch. There were only the three of us in the whole place. I specially requested this for my birthday. To be away from the duties I know will be passed to me tomorrow morning, once we go back.

"Mom, do you know anything about cats? I haven't encountered one so this is my first time having one," I pouted my lips, and went closer to hug her back.

"I know you'll ask that, so here it is. I prepared one already," I chuckled, looking at the small bowl containing the raw food.

"Thanks, Mom!" I smiled widely and gave her a light kiss on the cheeks earning a light laugh from her.

I went up again, going into my room in order to find out the cat is walking in my bed. My eyes widened, remembering that the dog has a small cut on her arms. I realize that I haven't given her a name yet.

And In order to give appreciation to the black collar, I saw together with her. I smiled widely.

"Phiara… I'll call you Phiara now,"
