HER BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

The ocean blue sky that can be looked up into is relaxing. The cold air that is hugging my body comforts my warm body. The tall green trees, the sound of water falling was audible as there is a waterfall near the area I am standing.

We are back… back from the place, back from the responsibilities. A royal ball will be held tonight, in celebration of my birthday yesterday. I told them not to do it, but with such ranking with had. I had no choice but to follow the royal protocol.

"My lady, the gown was already here" I took a deep breath, turning around to look at the person talking to me. Miguel, the son of my Dad's firsthand is casually wearing a midnight blue T-shirt pairing it up with black cargo pants.

"You know that it's still early in the morning, right?" I answered as I glared in his direction.

"HA HA HA" He sarcastically laughs towards me. I rolled my eyes and didn't mind him. I looked at my watch. It's just 7 in the morning, and usually, at this time my brain is still not working.

"Elizabeth…" he called me.

"What is it?" I asked softly, yet my eyes were not even bothering to take a glance in his direction.

"I forgot to greet you yesterday, so Happy Birthday,"

His words caught my attention. I smiled widely at what he said. "I thought you already forgot about it," I joked around and went closer to his side.

Miguel and I have been together since we were kids. He's 2 years older than me, that I already look up unto him as my own brother. His wavy blonde hair was neatly cleaned, even if it's just early in the morning. While his blue eyes were smiling widely, reflecting happiness in them.

"How can I forget such a thing?" I giggled at what he said, wrapping my arms around his waist.

"Thank you for everything, brother," Leaning my head towards his chest, the eerie sound of silence crept in around us.

"Your highness, his majesty is already waiting at the dining hall." I nodded at the servant who told me that, lifting my wrist to look at my watch, 7: 45 am it says. Just in time for our breakfast.

I'm still wearing my red silk nightgown, hiding it in a black robe that has a soft texture against my skin. My golden-brown hair is still in a messy bun, showing off little strands that are scattered all over my face.

"The Princess has arrived!" One royal guard announced before opening the huge mahogany double door for me, revealing the insides of our dining hall.

The 24-seater marbled table is in the middle of the room. The white leather seats are formally placed on each side. A row of similar-looking Egyptian chandeliers hanging from the ceiling adds to the extravagance the room is portraying. The walls were painted in white, to make the room look bright and neat.

"Good morning, Elizabeth." King Ismael, my dad said to me.

My Dad is already 2 years away from being 50. I chuckled at the thought that his hair is in good shape this morning. He is sitting at the head of the table, with his back leaning straightly against the leather chairs. And his fingers were entwined with each other, placing his wrists on the table.

"Good morning, Dad, Mom." I greeted them as I kissed both of their cheeks.

"Elizabeth, how's your day, sweetie" Queen Thalia, my mom asked me.

She's wearing an ocean blue, long-sleeved lace dress. Her light auburn hair was neatly combed on the back, showing off her light features. Despite her oldness, my mom knows how to take care of her body. Making it look younger than her age.

"Just the same Mom," I smiled at her while going into my designated seat.

"Did you enjoy the beach yesterday? And how is your cat?"

"I really did enjoy it, Mom. And Pharia is still sleeping on the bed," I answered honestly, giggling as a response.

"I already asked the servants to prepare food that would suit the cat's taste. Just ask one of them to bring it to your room," I nodded and said my thank you.

I'm glad that they're supporting me in every part of my life. I know that they are in doubt at first about me handling and taking care of the cat. But I am still in joy despite the fact that even though being in doubt, they choose to trust me.

"Your Majesty, the food is here,"

The door opened, and a crew of 10 people walked in wearing their specific uniforms. A white shirt with a penguin waistcoat matched with midnight blue trousers and black leather shoes for men. While a gray knee-length skirt paired with a white blouse and feminine gray waistcoat with white stockings and black formal heels for women. They were pushing trolleys, carrying the food for our breakfast.

The servants served the food. The menu carried a variety of soups, juices, and breakfast items. I gestured for a maid to serve me a whole wheat bread bun and a bowl of mushroom soup. Well, I probably can't be eating everything in here. A light and healthy breakfast to start off my day are already good enough.

"Elizabeth, I have something to ask you." I turn my gaze at my Dad, who had already finished eating and is waiting for us to finish.

"Can you check on the condition of those farmers tomorrow?"

"Sure, Dad," I answered with a smile, nodding at what he asked.

"Sweetheart, have you seen the gown that you will be wearing for tonight?" My gaze went towards my Mom who as well, had finished her food.

"I still haven't, Mom," I responded to her inquiries.

"Go see it after our breakfast. The celebration will start around 5 so you still can do whatever you want, but be sure to come back at lunchtime. Do you understand, Elizabeth?" It was the Queen, not my Mom who asked me.

And even though I don't want to attend my own birthday celebration, I nodded.

"I understand, Mom."
