ELIZABETH

It was a very alluring morning for Elizabeth. The sun was shining so brightly, standing greatly at heaven's skies. It blooms on the horizon while golden petals stretching ever outwards into the rich blue.

It is the brilliant flower of the sky that warms our days. It is the invitation to a new day, a symbol of new hope and a bright future ahead of us. In front of me was the vast of waters, waving forward my feet.

The cold breeze was sending chills towards my body as the white dress hugging my body go along with the wind flashing in.

"Elizabeth, sweetie, come here," It was my mom's voice that caught my attention.

"Yes, mom?" I asked curiously at her.

Smiling widely, she took a step in my direction and hugged me tightly. I felt my heart went in awe as she touched my cheeks softly.

"You're in legal age now. I'm so proud of you, my sweetheart," I giggled at what she said and hugged her back.

"Mom, it's not like I'm that old!" I joked as tears on her eyes were visibly looking at me with so much wonder.

"I know, sweetheart! I'm just saying that you're old enough to decide for yourself," I chuckled and guided my hand towards her back.

"Let's go inside, mom. I think Dada is already waiting for us." As she nodded her head, we moved towards the inside of our hall.

"Dada!" I waved my hands towards him and ran quickly to accept his warm embrace.

"Sweetheart, happy birthday to you," I smiled heartily and kissed his cheeks.

"What present do you want for your birthday,"

"All I want is to spend the time with you all, Dada," I pouted and clung to his arms.

Laughing at what I answered, he placed his hand towards my head, messing my well-done hair.

"Dada!" I whined and walked away from him.

Now, my straight hair was all messed up already! My eyes averted towards the clock's direction, which was hanging on the wall. It was already 7 in the morning, and breakfast was about to be served for the three of us.

We were staying in a 2-story beach house away from the royalty life that my parents and I have. Being the direct descendants of the Asa clan means responsibility that will be passed for me in the future.

"Sweetheart, honey, come here. Breakfast is already served," Mom's loud voice echoed through the whole place.

I smiled and nodded as my feet start to walk in her direction. Clinging unto her arms, I found myself unconsciously looking back at my father, who was smiling sweetly at us.

We proceeded towards the dining area, where a 6-seater dining hall was staying still. My eyes widened, inhaling the scent of the freshly cooked garlic fried rice on the table.

"Mom, my favorite!" Walking towards the table, my eyes glitter in excitement. Seeing my mom's own recipe of pork stew.

"Did you like it?" I immediately nodded my head and hugged them both as a thank you for all the things they have done for me.

"Sit now and let's eat,"

As we sat on the chair, my mom asked me about my plans throughout the day. Thinking to just go in swimming and rest, I smiled when I remembered that there was a small forest at the right part of the beach, which intrigued me yesterday when we got here.

"Mom, can I go towards the small forest we saw yesterday?? I promise to go back in here before lunchtime," Pouting my lips, I looked at them with pleading eyes, knowing that they can't resist me since it is my birthday.

"Sure, sweetie, but be careful, okay? We know you already are a big kid, but you are still not familiar with this place, so be sure to take care. Do you understand, Elizabeth?"

"Yes, Dad," The victorious smile on my lips was sweet as the food I'm eating.

I hurriedly finish eating my food just so I can go out towards the small forest faster. The smell of the woods was lingering in my nose as the sounds of crippling from the dried leaves echoed towards the whole place.

I was walking slowly, unaware of my surroundings. The abundance of nature was evident everywhere. Different heights of trees and the richness of soil were overwhelming.

I lifted my face, letting the light and the shadows dance across my skin. The birds humming was like a lullaby. I inhaled its minty smell and continued on, delighting in the sound of my feet sliding through. I took a deep breath out of relief, feeling the cold and the fresh air circulating around.

But my thoughts got interrupted by the sudden sound that caught my attention. My feet stop midway, looking around to find where it was coming first. The sound stop eventually, and I almost thought that I imagined things.

*Meow *Meow *Meow

My eyes widened, seeing a cute little kitten who was stuck on one of the fallen branches on the ground. I quickly took a step and helped the poor little kitten out. She was crying in pain as I removed the branches that were on top of her body.

"Oh no! Poor dear, are you okay?" The tone of my voice became worried sick, patting her head softly to comfort her fragile body.

I giggled as it closed her eyes, feeling the softness of my palm against her head. I looked around to find her possible mother, but without any traces, I found no one.

"Should we look for more, dear?" I asked softly, walking towards the huge tree on the right side.

"Baby, is this yours?" I asked, even though I know she wouldn't possibly answer me.

I giggled as she made a sound, seems like she agreed with me, so I picked it up. A black collar for kittens with the letter PH engraved in the middle. My eyes furrowed, thinking of the meaning behind the letters.

*Meow

"Hmm, what is it?" I asked as my eyes switched on her side.

Looking at the exit, I nodded my head. I should take her with me since we don't know what will happen to this poor kitten if we leave her alone in this forest.

"Let's go back, huh?" I giggled and started to walk my way towards the direction of the exit.

Deciding to look back, cold air flashed through me, seeing a quick shadow running through. The kitten in my arms shifted its place as my heart took a beat in anxiousness.
