"Matriarch, the sudden phenomenon that occurred in the Luminous state has ceased

according to my informants, the Luminous church is hiding something big because the barrier surrounding the Estate was reconstructed and reinforced ten times " spoke a handsome man with a tone filled with respect

"I see, if it's another weapon developed by the Luminous church analyze it and we'll decide the course of action we'll take based on the results" suggested a woman as she sliced a steak with precision and accuracy

The woman and the man were not alone as they were on a dining table with other family members of the Thanatos clan.

"There is another possibility of a new talent emerging from the shadows, send a few low-ranking apprentice warriors of the clan to assess and eliminate the threat" The Matriarch of the Thanatos clan implied to one of her male concubine

In Soleil, the concept of double standards towards men and women is almost non-existent due to a couple of factors

There are men who are stronger than women and women who are stronger than men therefore it is common for strong females to have a harem.

The Matriarch of the Thanatos family has 14 Male concubines and a few children who carry her high human bloodline.

The reason why she has so many mating partners is that high humans are almost extinct due to the repercussions of their path towards conquest.

High humans are similar to viltrumites in almost every way but while on steroids and without the weaknesses

The high human bloodline is dominant but it is very picky on the genes that it bonds with therefore one can not simply have children on demand, certain conditions must be met for an offspring to be born.

"If I may ask Matriarch, Why don't you just go to the Luminous state under diplomatic relations while exploring your hidden motive," Asked Cain one of the children of the Matriach

Cain unlike many children of the Matriach, he is a mistake born out of a fling that the Matriach had 13 years ago

Cain gritted his teeth as he heard the insulating statement, on his back an insignia similar to an exploding star began too slightly glow due to his rage

"My son do you know why we rarely interact with the Luminous church " The Matriarch looked at Cain with a cold gaze as she asked the question

"No I do not, please enlighten me " Cain replied as he shivered from her gaze

"The priestess of the Luminous church is well known to be racist towards humans as a whole but I once asked her a question out of curiosity to see how she feels about humans what do you think was her response "

Cain remained silent as he pondered deeply for an answer but nothing logical came to his mind

"Child, In this world, humans are the cattle, herded towards the slaughterhouse of fate. They scream in silence, their cries drowned out by the deafening roar of indifference. Like pigs to the butcher, they are led to the altar of destiny, their lives mere offerings to the gods of chance.

Their lives are mere flickers of candlelight, fragile and fleeting, extinguished by the whims of the universe.

And in the end, they are nothing but meat for the void, their existence reduced to a mere memory, a faint whisper in the winds of time." The Matriarch chuckled as she rephrased the words once spoken by Trinity

The family members in the dining hall halted their movements and remained silent as they heard the chuckle of the Matriach.

The members of the Thanatos did not remain silent because of being shocked by the speech of the Matriach but because of the battle intent that filled the air.

Killing intent is the desire to kill or imply that you can kill, on the other hand, battle intent is the desire to battle and dominate an opponent or field.

Cain silently observed the Matriach, the insignia on his back began to itch even more as he looked at the woman and all he felt was hatred and wrath.

Cain saw a status panel and felt his body growing stronger than before, unlike Aetheris his mark allows him to absorb emotions related to wrath to grow stronger.

"Cain is everything alright" The Matriarch asked as she noticed his odd silence.

"Yes, I was just surprised by your speech" replied Cain with a smile hiding his hatred towards the Matriach.

Cain does not simply hate the Matriach but he loathes her with every fibre of his being and the reason for that is simple.

Cain has a mystical ranked origin core therefore he is not as talented as the other children of the Thanatos clan.

The Thanatos clan thrives on the fact that the strong devourer and subdues the weak, and as a bastard who is not talented, he faces unending bullying and oppression to the point where he almost killed himself.

Others might say he's weak and pathetic but his desire to be loved as a child and receiving none of it from his mother is what truly broke him.

Unlike other children of the Thanatos family, Cain has no interest in growing stronger or fighting for the family heir position but his actions were described as being weak by the Matriach.

The mark of indignation appeared after the mark of intemperance, Cain was filled with the desire of vengeance and hatred towards the Matriach upon his awakening of the mark.

"I see" The Matriarch smiled inwardly while she observed Cain, what the Thanatos family doesn't know is that although Cain is a bastard... he's the only child of the Matriach born from love and happiness.
