Onwards

Now that I'm finally able to settle into Yu Lan's body without any rejection I finally felt everything she felt. My throat was extremely parched and my body was heavy with every inch of me aching. It felt like tons of pins were pricking me and with every prick came a burning sensation. It really felt like I was gonna burn to death. Dont tell me that I'm about to die again!?

All of a sudden I felt something cold grabbed my wrist and I couldn't help but open my eyes. Next to me was an elderly man with a long white beard, it seems that he was taking my pulse.

"Lady Chen was poisoned, as for what kind of poison was used. I do not know. This is the first time I've seen this kind of poison." stated the elderly man.

"Will she be able to proceed with the wedding today?" said a icy stern voice

When that person came into view Shen Mu Lan couldn't help but contract her eyes a little afterall this person was none other than Yu Lan's father. Although it's said to be a known fact that Yu Lan was the beloved daughter of the Prime Minsister of the left but no one knows better than her that it was all a front that Yu Lan's father put up. Yu Lan was nothing but a tool for him to boost and solidify his position in court, her brother on the other hand was the prized jewel that her father cherished.

"I would suggest that Lady Chen wait, if she forces herself to go through with this wedding I'm afraid that the poison would spread through out her body causing her to die. Even if she does not die from the poison it would definitely consume her lifespan." Doctor Yun said as he stares at Chen Su Yang. Doctor Yun at this moment was trying to gauge Chen Su Yang's character afterall he was a physician who was involved with nobles and royal to know that most of acted out a certain facade. Of course as Doctor Yun expected Chen Su Yang did not disappoint.

"Doctor Yun can you give her remedy to temporary hold the poison back until after she completes the wedding ceremony?"Chen Su Yang stared at Shen Mu Lan as he made eye contact with her as if he was trying to convey a secret message to her.

I mean how can I disappoint him I obviously also need to proceed with this wedding to achieve my own goals. I quickly tried to sit up and grab Doctor Yun's arm. "Doctor Yun, pl... please hel.... help me make it tr.... through this wedding ceremony." I said while coughing and to gasping for air. It was so hard to talk!

Doctor Yun looked at me with extremely shocked wide eyes, as he said concerningly "Young lady do you not treasure yourself? How can you not value your own life?"

"Doctor Yun, it's not that I don't value my life it's just that this marriage is my life. Not to mention that this marriage is an imperial decree from his majesty." I solemnly said as I stated at Doctor Yun.

Sigh "Very well, this old man will go prepare the remedy." As Doctor Yun was leaving the room he made eye contact with Chen Su Yang and said under his breath "Don't think that I don't know what you're up to." as he quickly left the room.

"Hmph, even if you know what can you do as a measley doctor." Chen Su Yang snidely responded. He quickly turned back to face Shen Mu Lan and started at her maliciously. Before he left the room he said to her in a cold voice "You better remember what's at stake. If you don't listen to me you'll never see your mother again. And don't screw up the plan, just follow my orders for two years then you're free to go wherever you please. Hmph"

Hmph, does this old fool think that Yu Lan was as naive as he thought? Yu Lan already knew of his ambitions, the only thing stopping her was her mother. Once I find Yu Lan's mother I'll make sure to ruin all of his plans before ditching this place.

Doctor Yun quickly returned with the remedy and handed it to one of the servant girls. He stared at me for awhile, it looked like he was contemplating something before he finally decided to say something before taking off.

"Lady Chen, I will await you at the palace to treat you to the best if my abilities. Do not lose hope." he bowed then left.

Right after a Doctor Yun left one the servant girls stepped forward and handed me the remedy for the poison. This remedy was really..... Forget bitter it was so awful it left me speechless! Seriously I wonder how people of ancient times could drink this without making a face. I'm already thinking that I should get rid of the after taste by washing my mouth. I swear to the heavens on the name of Shen Mu Lan, the greatest medical expert of the 21st century that when I'm able to move again I'll cure my self of this poison so I won't be put through this torment ever again.

The wedding girls then approached Shen Mu Lan and quickly got her ready. They were already short on time since she passed out so everyone was in a rush to get everything done. She felt like she was in the middle of a storm, everyone just moved so fast.

Recalling her past life when she got married she remembered it wasn't this chaotic, was the ancient times always this crazy! Finally when they were all done and satisfied I looked up into the mirror. Yu Lan was really a really pretty girl, soft white skin, a natural soft pink blush along the cheeks, and the Phoenix shaped eyes with a pair of black pearls in the center. The servant girls really did a good job considering that I looked deathly pale a few minutes ago. It really left me speechless, I mean how can a girl be born with such good looks? I dare say that even if there were no make up applied she would still be a beauty. I can't believe this is going to be my face from now on.

Seeing Shen Mu Lan speechless all the servant girls couldn't help but feel extremely proud of their skills. They grabbed the red veil and put it over as they wait for the auspicious time.

It's time. I lifted my head up and looked straight at the red veil. Sigh, onward swith our plans. It's too late to regret now. Let the show begin!
