Chapter 2_ Jinxed 1

Racheal returned home in frustration, why was all these happening to her. She was really happy when she was called for an interview because she heard that the company pays a huge amount to their employees.

She unlocked the door and went in and breathed out. She was tired of staying at home all day.

Only lyra pay all the bills and she has been feeling really bad wondering why she was jinxed.

Her phone rang for some time before she decided to pick it up it was a video call.

She stared at the caller and smiled it was Marcus, her friend."hi" she smiled

Marcus noticed her sullen expression behind that smile" what is wrong? are you alright?" He asked worriedly.

Racheal narrated her plight and he sighed in relief. "Come on you will get another opportunity" he tried to ease her stress they both spoke for a while before they ended the call.

Later that day........

It was very windy in the city, dusts filled the air, parents calling after their children because if the strong winds, this reminded her of her parents.

Racheal smiled widely knowing it will rain soon, her smile was innocent and beautiful that it showed her cute dimples at the side of her face.

She rubbed her arm slightly, her black long hair was swaying on her pretty face that she could barely see.

Days like these always made her happy, she smiled as she reminisced on those beautiful memories.

On a windy afternoon, everyone was running in different directions but little Racheal sneaked out from her room and went out, this sneaky act did not miss her mum's eyes who was busy on the phone.

Nancy called after Racheal but she was long gone, she ran after her mischievous daughter who was making her run in circles.

"Racheal don't stress mummy, come to me sweetie" Nancy pleaded panting slightly, her daughter has always loved rainy days, she worries about catching a cold but this daughter of hers was something else.

"Mummy I want to stay out for a few minutes, please".

The seven year old girl pleaded with pouted lips and puppy dog eyes which she knew her mum couldn't resist.

Nancy sighed and smiled, she caught up with Racheal and twirled her around.

Soon it began to pour heavily. Racheal's happy laughter synced with the thunderbolts.

She spread her arms looking up to the sky while her mum continued twirling her.

Racheal frowned when the rain stopped pouring on her, she looked up to see an umbrella over their head.

"Nancy you both will catch a cold, come inside" Andrew scolded.

Racheal slipped out of her mum's hand and took off, leaving her parents to run after her.

The three has a blissful moment under the rain.

Lyra stared at Racheal's back, it has started raining but she just stood there smiling not daring to make a move.

She knew rainy days were attached to her childhood but she could still get a cold.

So she pulled Racheal in, drying her hair with a white neat towel.

"So how was the interview" lyra asked worriedly, she knew Racheal was trying really hard to get a job even though she told her not to worry herself.

"He threw me out before I could even sit or begin" she grumpily stated.

Lyra smiled and patted Racheal's head "is that why you are feeling down, look I got takeouts for us" lyra brought out a brown paper bag.

Racheal smiled revealing her dimples as she opened the bag to devour the contents in the bag.
