[[Back Area of the Facilities]]

"Alright, Regina, let's do this. I'll infiltrate the facilities and take control of the first-floor command room." Regina crossed her arms and listened attentively.

"I should have access to all the security systems from there. I'll contact you as soon as I clear the room." Patrick proceeded to move into the facilities.

Seeing Patrick had left, Regina approached Gail, who was inspecting some bloodstains near a broken fence.

Looking at the broken fence and the many bloodstains, Regina focused on Gail and sarcastically said, "Let me guess... This is your handiwork, isn't it?"

Taking a bullet from one of the bloodstains, Gail curiously commented, "Hmm... the bullet is still hot. These guards must have shot at something not too long ago."

"And who were they fighting against?"

Shaking his head, Gail explained, "It wasn't a fight; I don't think they hit anything before they were torn apart and disemboweled. Whatever they were shooting at came through here, tearing down the steel fence."

With a playful tone, Regina responded, "Well, it's all neat and pretty, but I'd still say you could have done this."

"Very funny. We still need to figure out what happened here. Keep searching the area." Giving his orders, Gail continued to inspect the broken fence.

Nodding, Regina decided to enter the door right in front of her.

Inside, she realized it was a storage room. Inspecting the room, she noticed a key near a forklift. Approaching it and picking it up, she saw the words "Generator Area/Lower Level" engraved on the key.

Not finding anything else of interest, she decided to leave. As she walked towards the back door that would lead to the generator, her communicator rang.

She brought it to her ear and heard, "This is Rick. I'm inside, but even though it's deserted, I have a bad feeling..."

"How's the security system?"

"I don't know what happened, but it seems like all power in the facility has been cut."

"The same here."

"As long as this continues, I can't do much. Why don't you try to access the security generators nearby?"

"Alright, I'm on it," Regina replied as she ended the communication. It was then that she saw Gail approaching her. "What are you doing here?"

"I overheard the last part of your conversation."

"Whatever. By the way, I found a key." She proceeded to show it to him, giving him a smug smile.

"Give it to me." Gail took it from her hands. "Let's go." He opened the back door and exited.

Raising her eyebrows at his behavior, Regina stared at Gail moving towards the generator room. She huffed in annoyance and decided to follow him.

[Passage to the Backup Generator]

As Regina followed gail, the desolate and eerie path, with only emergency lights briefly illuminating the way, she couldn't help but feel that this particular night was especially cold and tense. The world seemed unnaturally calm, as if all the whispers of nature had been silenced, and the only sound was the echo of her boots as she walked.

Reaching Gail, she noticed him looking at a guard's body, torn in two, with its entrails spilling out. It was a gruesome scene, and Regina couldn't help but exclaim, "How disgusting!"

Glancing at her, Gail spoke, "They've torn this man apart... Something ripped out his guts."

Bending down to examine the body, Regina said with a touch of surprise, "Look at those bite marks; it had to be some kind of animal."

Shaking his head, Gail stood up. "Come on, we need to keep moving."

Getting up as well, Regina followed him to the door leading to the generators, and as he opened it, he turned to her. "You go in; I'll guard the entrance."

"Sure, ladies first, right?" Regina replied sarcastically, but Gail ignored her and continued to keep watch.

[[Standby generator room 1F]]

Entering, regina noticed the huge engine that was silent, proceeding to move she found an empty battery charger, following the path, she observed four levers with the colors "Red, blue, green, white" looking at the panel containing the batteries, she noticed that the batteries were badly positioned.

He proceeded to arrange the batteries in the established order that he saw in the colored levers, successfully arranging the batteries with their respective color, he went to the levers and one by one lowered them, thus successfully getting the engine to start.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Auugh!

Regina heard gunshots. Quickly, she hurried to the door and opened it, noticing that Gail was gone. She drew her weapon and followed the small traces of blood on the floor.

A few meters ahead, she found the blood leading to a broken fence, which led to a deep ravine with no visible bottom. "Gail! Are you there, Gail?"

Getting no response, she shook her head, fearing the worst. She got up, still with her gun drawn, and didn't realize that her shouts had attracted a creature. It quickly advanced and jumped in front of her, blocking her path.

Hissing and growling, the creature bared its teeth. "What is that?" she exclaimed in surprise.

In front of her was a bipedal creature with a slender body, long, powerful legs, massive curved claws, a long tail, serrated and sharp teeth, a large head, and malicious yellow eyes. It was a velociraptor, one of the predators from the Jurassic era.

Regina remained calm when facing the velociraptor, despite the adrenaline pumping through her veins. She raised her weapon and aimed it at the creature.

Bang! Bang!

She managed to wound the velociraptor in one of its eyes. As it writhed in pain, she began to run towards the back door of the facility. The wounded velociraptor tried to jump over the fence to follow her, but being blinded in one eye and low on energy, it couldn't make the jump. It eventually gave up and turned away.

Sighing with relief, Regina's communicator rang again. "Good news! I've fixed the control system. What's the situation over there?"

Breathing heavily, Regina urgently replied, "It's Gail. I've lost him!"

"Ha! Ha! What's the bad news then? Did you encounter some guards?"

"You won't believe this. A kind of dinosaur attacked him!"

"Ohoou! That's a good one! And who was it? Barney?"

"This isn't a joke idiot! We were attacked by a giant lizard!"

"Oh, really? What's going on there? Okay... Regina, head to the control room, and we'll sort this out." That was the last thing Rick said before hanging up.

Moving quickly toward the door where Rick had entered a few minutes ago.

[Office Lobby]

Entering a deserted hallway with broken glass and moonlight illuminating it, Regina turned the corner at an intersection, and she heard a growl from outside the facility, in the wooded area. She hurriedly examined the laser-activated barriers at the door and realized she couldn't pass through them.

Seeing no other option, she spotted an open ventilation shaft. She attached a rope and climbed up. Advancing through the ventilation, she eventually reached the control room's vestibule.

[Control Room]

Entering the control room, Regina saw Rick on a monitor, typing some codes. She approached him and asked, "What's our status?"

With arrogance in his voice, Rick replied without looking away from the monitor, "This security system is a piece of cake for me, child's play." He stopped typing and turned to look at her.

"What exactly happened to Gail? You said he was attacked by a dinosaur?"

"Yes, I couldn't believe it myself. I just hope he's still alive. Anyway, our priority is to complete the mission." Regina explained as she moved towards the monitor behind her.

"No, Regina, what we should do is call the helicopter and get out of this death trap."

With a sarcastic tone, Regina responded, "That would be a great idea, but Cooper has the radio, and he's missing." She looked at the unresponsive monitor and then back at Rick. "Hey, what's wrong with this monitor?"

"That's the security monitor for the underground area. The cameras are offline."

"So, there's still no power in the lower area, right?"

"Exactly. They must have that area connected to a separate power system."

"We can investigate that area after we examine this level," Regina said, despite her expression showing she wanted to get out of there.

"Alright, then I'll take care of the locks blocking the way. Make your way over there, grab the doctor, and come back here."

Turning back to his work, Rick didn't say anything more.

"First the ladies, huh? What kind of guys am I dealing with?" With a final comment, Regina left the control room.

Seeing Regina had left, Rick sighed. "Fortunately, she's tough and not afraid of risks." "Now I want to find out where those things came from," Rick mumbled to himself.
