New Power & Bella

Forgot the name in the 1st 2 chapters. Hadrian Swan.

By the time Bella showed up, I had started to take over the power market. For just $50 a month, whether it was winter in Alaska or summer in Texas, you could run everything in your house 24/7 and still not pay 1 cent more. And every five years a new device would replace the old one, and IF for some reason your device stopped working before that time, call the number on the side and a new device would be delivered and installed same day, free of charge. All this started pushing the power companies out of the market.

Was I petty? Sure. But everyone employed at my company was too. You don't mess with people's livelihood and expect anything less.

At the end of my fourth year, we had finally cracked the electric thruster. It was nothing compared to the Ironman tech, but hey, baby steps. The new spaceship was scheduled to take its first flight on the fourth of July. Everyone's family was invited to witness this occasion that we all worked so hard for.

Everything went off without a hitch, and some over celebrating may have been done. Luckily, Uncle Charlie was there to keep us all in line and out of trouble.

Then, I was growing tired of the daily grind. I built all this to enjoy myself, not work all the time. I decided to leave my employees in charge, telling them that they can always reach me in case of emergency. I am taking an extended vacation.

Later that year, Charlie showed up at my house.

"Bella is moving back to Forks. Will you keep an eye on my house until I get back with her? I know she'd be happy to see you." Charlie said.

"Sure. I missed having my little hellian around." I said, standing up.

"She was only like that with you. I always thought you two were as close as sibling when you were younger. From what I heard, she's shy and introverted." Charlie said in thought.

"So like you." I said, not asked.

"Ya, hehe. I didn't tell her I was picking her up in the new personal aircraft, I still don't know why it's not called a flying car. I hope she likes the suprise." Charlie rambled.

"Luckily she's not scared of heights. Maybe I should gift her one for her homecoming gift." I said.

"Make it an electric car. She's still only seventeen and she can't get the license for the aircraft til she's eighteen." Charlie reminded me.

"I forgot the government set it up that way. Very well. I'll have it delivered later today. Is anyone else going to be showing up to say hi?" I asked.

"Just Billy and Jacob. It's game day after all." Charlie said with some excitement in his voice.

"Ah. Aight, I'll stick around if it's just them." I said.

"Thanks, Hadrian. It means a lot to me. If you get drunk, your room is always open. You paid for my house upgrade anyway." Charlie said with a smirk.

"I'll grab some Jack and Coke. I haven't been able to enjoy myself in awhile anyway." I said.

"Alright. Don't get shit faced before I get back with Bella, please." Charlie begged.

"You got it." I said as we entered our separate vehicles.

Arriving at the liquor store, I realized there were eyes on me. Turning my head I noticed the rear end of a car turning a corner before shrugging and proceeding with my day.

Ten minutes later I was sitting on Charlie's couch trying not to take a nap before anyone could arrive.

Fourth minutes later, I was waking up to hear the front door opening.

"Didn't I ask you to NOT get drunk before I got back?" Charlie asked behind my back.

"I didn't. The Jack is still unopened in the freezer. I just fell asleep waiting." I said while stretching.

"Oh. Good. Bella, this is your cousin Hadrian. Do you remember him?" Charlie asked as I turned around.

"How can I forget my bro'sin? How have you been?" Bella asked me as she shrew herself into my arms.

"I've been good, Bells. How about you?" I asked, returning the hug.

"Better now. Why are you so tired? It's not like you do any hard work. What do you do for work?" Bella asked me.

Eyeing Charlie, I noticed the subtle head shake he gave me.

"Well, maybe I'll tell you later. Go on and take your stuff to your room. I have a present for you." I said while looking at my phone.

"Okay!" Bella said as she ran up the stairs.

"How long?" Charlie asked.

"About three minuites." I answered while watching the delivery live location.

"Perfect. Just enough time for me to grab a beer." Charlie said as he left for the kitchen.

Two minutes later, Charlie and I led Bella outside to await the delivery.

Looking around, Bella asked "Okay, what's the suprise?"

"That." I said pointing down the street.

"Did you buy my an electric car?!" Bella screamed, getting excited.

"Uncle Charlie and I both bought it." I said while she was crushing me in a hug.

"Well..." Charlie tried to object before also receiving a back breaking hug from Bella. Instead of finishing his sentence, he returned her hug while mouthing 'Thank you' to me.

"Tomorrow morning, we will both take you to go get it licensed and registered in your name before school." I said.

"Thank you both, so much." Bella said emotionally.

"You are very welcome, little sis." I said jokingly before I received another hug.

Nothing special happened that night. I couldn't even get drunk so I wouldn't even accidentally show off my powers.

The next morning, Charlie and I were both waving bye to Bella as she left the courthouse for school.

"Any plans for today?" Charlie asked me.

"I don't know. Maybe I'll go to work and start working on improving this cell phone." I said while holding up my touch screen phone that barely had internet access...and it was top of the line for its time.

"Dibs of product number one!" Charlie yelled out as he walked back into the station.

Laughing, I walked to my car feeling like I was being watched again. Looking around, I saw the back end of a Jeep going around the corner with a young man standing in the back.

"Hmm." I said to myself with a shrug as I left to start on my new project. I had plenty of power with my Psionic powers, but this would help with my control. 'Hopefully, I don't spend a fortune on parts being broken.' I jinxed myself.
