Cave and New Monsters!

BANG!

Barely managing to make it out into the cave that the giant cave alligator had entered before her, Scaly could not help fearfully looking back towards the tunnel that had collapsed behind her. Blocking any way back to the slime filled tunnels.

Only after a short moment of looking around did Scaly realize just how large the cave that she now found herself inside of was. Stretching farther than she could see.

The cave had several small streams of water running through it before ending up in a large lake in the distance.

Not only that, but Scaly also managed to spot the giant cave alligator entering the large lake in question... Luckily for her, it seemed like the cave alligator did not stay around waiting for her to reach the cave and had instead rushed to enter the large lake the moment it had entered the cave.

Other than the lake, the cave was covered in several small crystals, that all gave off light and helped light the cave up and at the same time also allowing a few plants to grow in the areas where the bigger crystals were located.

In turn, this source of light also revealed several different monsters roaming around the cave before her. Most of which had just begun to come out again. Having been scared away by the sudden appearance of the cave alligator.

Among the different monsters that showed up after the giant cave alligator had hidden away inside the lake in the distance, Scaly was the most surprised over the appearance of a fellow lizard. Since coming to this world and becoming a lizard, this was Scaly's first time seeing a lizard her own size!

Compared to the giant lizard from the first floor of the dungeon, Scaly felt that there was a chance that the cave lizards might be friendly towards her and with this in mind Scaly cautiously began moving towards a cave lizard only a few meters in front of her. Wanting to know if smaller lizards were friendly or not…

Swish!

Not too surprisingly, the other party launched an attack the moment Scaly got too close. Brandishing its deadly claws to swipe down towards her!

Whoosh~

Not feeling the slightest bit surprised or taken aback by the sudden attack, Scaly quickly moved back and mustered up her last remaining mana to launch a small water spear towards the cave lizard.

Ptch~

Easily piercing through it and killing it before its attack managed to reach her.

Not feeling anything when she killed the cave lizard that had attacked her, Scaly began looking around the cave for somewhere to stay.

Now that her former home had been destroyed and she found herself in a brand-new location. The first thing she had to do was find a safe place to stay and recover the mana she had used during the process of dealing with the humans and the cave lizard.

Focusing mostly on the craggy walls of the cave filled with several small and big cracks, some of which had water flowing out of them that formed the small streams leading towards the large lake where the cave alligator had gone.

There!

Spotting a small crack just big enough for her to enter through around half a meter off the ground right next to one of the cracks with water coming out of it, Scaly decided to try her luck and see if there was enough space for her to make the crack in the cave wall her new home.

Even if she had water magic to cover her need for water, it was not a bad thing to have water flowing just next to her in case she had no mana to cast magic after a fight… Like her current situation…

Having almost fully decided on the crack if there was space enough for her inside of it, Scaly carefully began climbing up the craggy cave wall. Something that was not too hard given the state of the cave wall.

Whoosh~

Thud!

However, Scaly was forced to jump back down on the ground. Dodging a pair of sharp fangs coming towards her the moment she reached the crack in the wall that she had decided to make her future home during her time in the cave.

Barely managing to inspect the creature before it hid away inside the crack that was already occupied, Scaly could not help feeling lucky that she had managed to dodge the pair of fangs in time…

Reading the description of the monster hiding away inside the crack that she had decided to make her home, Scaly could not help feeling unwilling thinking about the fact that she had to give up such a great place to a mere spider…

No! I will recover my mana and take it by force!

Thinking about how she would easily be able to deal with such a small spider with her water magic, Scaly decided to find a temporary safe place to recover her mana before coming back to take the venom cave spider's home away by force!

Something that ended up taking her way longer time than expected, as she had to avoid the higher-level monsters wandering around on the ground, while also avoiding any crack in the wall big enough for her with a venom cave spider inside of it due to her current lack of mana…

Luckily, not everything was bad, as she soon managed to find a small unoccupied crack close to one of the crystals that lit up the underground cave.
