Chance Encounter

The matter with Frank was over, at least it had nothing to do with her.

Unbeknownst to her, Frank had been discreetly observing Daisy throughout the "car wash" and subsequent interactions. He meticulously took note of her age, appearance, height, and mannerisms. Once she departed, Frank made a phone call.

After Daisy left, Frank made a phone call.

On the other end was a deep voice, "Old buddy, I've heard about your situation. I'm sorry, there was no warning in advance. Whatever you need, just let me know."

Frank remained expressionless and after a long time, he hoarsely said, "Don't bother about my affairs."

His words had multiple meanings. He was not only refusing the other person's help but also didn't want any interference from the authorities.

The person on the other end understood his meaning, "Okay, I promise."

Both parties fell into silence. Just as the other person was about to hang up, Frank spoke again, "Nick, I saw a woman who fits the criteria for your deputy."

"I've already found candidates." The other person's tone was firm, rejecting him.

"I'm giving you the information, whether you use it or not is up to you." Frank quickly rattled off a lot of identity information and then hung up the phone, looking at the white clouds, and feeling the infinite sadness in his heart for his family.

Little did Daisy know that her information was being diligently recorded on someone's desk. She was poor and didn't know where to go, so she reluctantly decided to return to school.

After school, she packed her things and headed to her rented house.

Walking on the street, she checked her wallet again. Did she really need to find a job?

Facing the bustling streets of Manhattan and seeing the people coming and going, she didn't know where she should go for a while.

She decide to visit the convenience store where her friend Alice worked and planned to treat her to lunch and enjoy a good meal together.

As she passed a street corner, she saw four women rushing out of a Japanese restaurant, followed by more men carrying knives and sticks chasing after them.

Coincidentally, she was on the path of the escaping woman.

The leading woman desperately gestured to her, urging her to run.

Is this the Hand? That was Daisy's first thought, but they didn't seem like it. The men didn't appear to be rigorously trained, their steps were unsteady, and their breathing was chaotic. They looked more like people who had been emptied out by indulging in vice.

As the leading woman ran past her, Daisy saw her dishevelled clothes and a slap mark on her face, blood at the corner of her mouth, yet she still persisted in running. The other women were equally messy.

Daisy saw a crew-cut man grab the hair of the woman at the back and violently pulled her down, raising the baseball bat in his hand to strike.

Daisy intervened quickly, kicking the man away, and picked up the baseball bat from the ground. While she didn't have any fighting skills, it was easy for her with her enhanced physical abilities to handle a few untrained men.

After a few punches and kicks, the men were no match for her, and they lay all over the ground.

"Run!" Daisy saw that someone was about to rush out again and heard the sound of a gun being loaded, so she quickly called the women to follow her.

As a native of Hell's Kitchen, she was familiar with the terrain. She led the Japanese women through various twists and turns, evading their pursuers, and finally stopped when they were temporarily safe.

"We're safe for now." She could run non-stop through the underground city, so this level of exercise was nothing for her. However, for the women, it was quite intense.

The women hugged each other, still finding it hard to believe that they were rescued.

The leading woman looked at Daisy with a hint of admiration in her eyes. She stuttered in English, trying to express her thanks and even bowed deeply.

Daisy could only nod and return the gesture. The woman's English was not great, and she communicated with a mix of words and gestures. Daisy finally understood the whole story.

A group of Japanese college students, who had dreams of achieving the American dream, were deceived and ended up in this situation.

When they realized something was wrong, they panicked and ran towards the gate. However, the gate was blocked by obstacles, and it took them some time to struggle and remove the obstructions. By the time they managed to run out through the gate, their pursuers were already close behind them.

If it weren't for Daisy, they would undoubtedly be caught and beaten up today, and even worse things might happen afterwards.

The leader of the group introduced herself as Maki Matsumoto and expressed her gratitude in broken English. She bowed deeply once again, showing her utmost respect.

Daisy was a little curious and asked again, "Your name is Maki? Maki Matsumoto?"

"Yes, my previous name was too embarrassing to mention, so I go by this name now. Please take care of me," Maki Matsumoto explained, bowing respectfully once again.

"What's your major? Have you graduated?" Daisy was a bit surprised; this girl was a future celebrity.

"Law major."

Daisy was a little surprised. This woman was also a little famous in the original timeline.

Maki Matsumoto, a lawyer, was not someone to be trifled with. If there were no Daisy today, the young girl, who would eventually become Lady Bullseye, would have been imprisoned by the Yakuza. The Yakuza had sinister plans to sell her and many others into sexual slavery. However, Bullseye, who happened to be there for an unrelated reason, arrived and swiftly eliminated the mobsters.

The sight of Bullseye effortlessly killing her captors inspired the girl to escape and become a killer. After that, she was trained by Izo to become a skilled fighter, and he promised she would one day lead the Hand.

However, now that she hadn't gone through that experience, whether she would become a cold-blooded killer was still unknown.

Daisy escorted the women to the Japanese embassy. The remaining three Japanese women bowed and thanked her, leaving their addresses with her, hoping that if she went to Japan someday, she would give them a chance to thank her.

Only Maki Matsumoto stayed where she was, bowing deeply to Daisy.

"Do you need something?" Daisy was afraid that she would ask to borrow money, which would be awkward.

"Miss Johnson, I am willing to stay here and become your retainer!" Her resolute voice echoed, and the other Japanese women, as well as the consul who hadn't gone far, had expressions that conveyed their lack of surprise.

Daisy was taken aback, In this day and age, someone was still proposing to be her retainer.

Daisy waved her hands in protest, saying, "I'm just an ordinary person, there's nothing special about me that you should follow. You should go back as per the arrangements made by the Consul. Your parents are probably worried about you."

Maki Matsumoto bowed deeply again and said, "I am a disgrace to my family, I lack insight, and I'm just a fool who can only daydream. Please take me in!"

Yet another ninety-degree bow followed, and then she didn't raise up again.
