After having their fill in the cafeteria, Caleb returned Magby to his PokeBall.
That's right, Caleb was now authorized to access a pokeBall for his starter. It was with the help of his grandfather's Class 7 authority that made this happened.
Since after the incident 6 months ago, Cesar was noticeably more biased towards Caleb than his other cousins.
His cousins envy him, especially Christian since they have been rivals regarding pokemon battling since young.
Caleb shrunk the PokeBall and hang it on the necklace hanging on his neck.
It was a costumized one that a pokeBall could cling onto.
He hailed a bus and stopped on his family's breeding center.
He made a beeline towards his grandfather's library on the third floor after waving at the familiar reception lady.
When he got inside the room, he noticed someone's presence. It was an old man and old woman with a lab coat on.
It was his grandfather and grandmother, Cesar and Cecilia.
"Grandma, Grandpa. What are you guys doing here?" He respectfully regarded his grandparents as he asked.
"Hays, Caleb we knew you would immediately come here after your training at the pokemon center. It has been months since you worked so hard in training yourself and your Magby. I think you should rest for a few days, and your family and grandpa too are worried. Overworking won't do you any good when you are still so young." Cecilia's warm and soothing voice answered him, she slowly walked near Caleb with her cane and rubbed his palms that were developing calluses.
"Hmph! Who said I'm worried? I'm just afraid your mind would explode, son. Even though exercising is good, doing it over the top would only stress your body and mind. Take this advice and stop training for a few days." Cesar also answered him in a strict tone, but one could notice the concern in his words.
Caleb smiled. "Grandpa, Grandma I'm fine. Really I am. But if it makes you guys so worried I'll rest for a day, how does that sound?"
"A day is good." Cecilia smiled.
"Sometimes I thought you are already an adult Caleb. Seeing you act so mature from your age really makes me question if you are really just an nine year old." Cesar shook his head in puzzlement. He patted Caleb's shoulder and said. "We just wanted to say this things since your mom kept nagging about how you are so persistent in training that even your father can't stop you. It's good that you listened to us. Stop making your parents worry boy, don't make it a habit."
"I understand, grandpa." Caleb dipped his head and accepted the scolding.
"Order some food if you felt hungry okay son?" Cecilia and Cesar left the room shortly after some talks.
Caleb sighed exhaustedly, then sat down on a table. He felt desperate for strength since he was scared for what would come to him when someone would find out about the mysterious seed in him. He was afraid of the unknown life any individual would, and he had been working so hard too.
"I think I'm being too skeptical about this." After a moment of silence, Caleb smiled bitterly. He realized that since this golden seed was inside his mind, it would be very difficult for people to know of it unless they would pry open his secrets after torturing him and that was very unlikely too since he wasn't a criminal or someone important for such.
If anything else, it could only be integration phase master trainers that could know of it since according to the knowledge he gained from reading books and at the academia they possess the ability of psychic powers. Morever, it is more unlikely for him to stumble upon this experts since they are very few in every region since they have jobs to take care of and are usually very busy.
"Damn, now I don't have the mood to read some books today. They are right, I need to take a break and I should take it easy." Caleb rubbed his temple and stood up.
He left the room and bade his grandparents farewell when he visited their office.
....
The next day was Tuesday, so Caleb had to attend classes.
"Caleb!"
After the last class had ended a person with a stylish light brown hair called his name.
"What is it, Eusine?" Caleb turned around, recognizing it was his friend.
"Caleb, do you want to go to the park with us?" Diantha came to his view, it was Eusine and Diantha now standing in front of him outside their classroom door.
"Sure."
"Well, it can't be help. We knew you are gonna train today too anywa-" Eusine stopped the words that were coming out of his mouth.
He blinked comically and stared at Caleb who was looking back at him amusingly. "What?"
"I said sure, I don't have anything to do today anyways." Caleb replied. "Or am I not welcomed to?"
Diantha and Eusine looked at each other for a second. Then they exclaimed happily.
"That's awesome dude!"
"Finally, you agreed Caleb!"
Both of them kept asking this version of question to him almost daily for the past few months, and Caleb felt apologetic for it. He knew they felt concern about him, so he decided to spent some time with his friends today.
"How about we invite Eclairisse too, since the more the merrier, right?" Caleb suggested noticing that a girl was by herself still inside their classroom sitting on his desk, lonely.
"I'll ask her!" Diantha volunteered to do it, she skipped her way towards her and conversed with their class president.
Both the girls looked towards the two boys waiting at the door, after a while of Diantha's persuation she seemed to have agreed as she nodded her head and stood up after organizing her stuff.
After grouping up and getting ready, all of them came out of the campus and got outside the gate, heading towards the park.
They decided to just walk since it wasn't that far away.
"Anyways, what's the plan for today? We won't just be feeding the local birds there with bread crumbs right? If so it would be boring." Caleb asked, he was resting his head with his hands up, his palm supporting the back side of his head.
"Ermm... We actually, don't have any agenda hehehe. We just came to ask you, we didn't expect for you to agree since you are always busy training your pokemon."
"Agreed."
Those words from Diantha and Eusine stabbed Caleb's guilt that he was feeling. "I'm sorry, okay? I know I've been ignoring you guys lately, but I promise I would hang out with you guys occasionally from now on."
"Well, it's good that you at least showed some regret." Diantha laughed mischievously. She then though for a moment before looking at Eclairisse. "How about you, Ms. President. Do you have anything you want to do particularly?"
Eclairisse showed a surprise expression fro a moment from the sudden question, she then noticed both of the boys were also looking at her, awaiting for her suggestion. She smiled and said. "I don't know, I'm happy as long as I'm with you guys."
"Shesh, that sounds so warm that it soothed my heart, Eclairisse. Unlike that cold muscle head over there." Eusine joked.
All of them laughed as they kept their stroll towards the park. It was a very good thing to see for four young children hanging out with each other. Oh yeah, not to mention the three Pokemons that were with them, a Ralts, Drowzee and Eclairisse's starter, an adorable Fletchling that was perched on her shoulder.
"Seriously though, what should we do for today?"
"Hmmm, how about let's do some pokemon battling and play around with our Pokemons?" Caleb suggested.
"Would you look at this guy, always thinking about battle, train and battle, is there anything inside your brain beside that?" Diantha nagged at him immediately after hearing him utter those words.
"Well... What better suggestion do you have?"
The four young people brainstormed, and after a while decided to have a picnic in the park after buying some food and games that would entertain them.
After deciding so, they headed towards the Pokemart that was coincidentally a place where they could stop by on their way.
(A/N: See? I told you, this is a development arc where Caleb would be developing his character with his friends and family. Also, hehehehe who among you could anticipate what would happen in the park while they would just be having fun? Who knows, stay tuned.)
