Chapter 13

-Time skipped, Half a year later-

A young man around the age of eight-nine could be seen on a training facility of the Pokemon Center found in Lumiose City.

He was with his Magby, shouting out commands that had the creature maneuver through lasers that were flying around it, occasional commanding Magby to release some huge fire from it's mouth and destroying rocks that were randomly thrown around with a blazing fist that was the move, Fire Punch.

The pokemon center had a wide range of equipment, although it wasn't cheap to rent a training facility Caleb's family gave him sufficient allowance.

Within this six months or so, Caleb and Magby were having a whirlwind of training and battle every single day, even in Saturdays and also while participating the training activity that is conducted once a week in Sundays in his school. By the way the first placed price that was awarded on the first training activity for the first years were given to Diantha since Caleb passed out halfway, the prize was still unknown to Caleb since it was given to Diantha privately and she had even kept it from him.

He was curious about what it was but he didn't inquired further, he'll know of it eventually.

While training, Caleb attempted to increase the flexibility, force and density of Magby's Ember attack in order to help him develop the move, Flamethrower.

Their training beared fruit somehow, by the form of a new move that was Fire Punch.

Caleb was puzzled how this came to be so he had asked his starter, according to him he was frustrated his fist weren't breaking rocks so easily so he concentrated hard for several hours and a few days in training his fire energy on his entire fist.

Nevertheless, Caleb was overjoyed that his starter managed to learn a new move. He was happy, but this increased their time on training with the addition of fire punch.

The original 3 hours of consistent training was upped to 4 hours. Although it was tiring, Caleb and his Magby persisted.

Morever, seeing their strength grow was very rewarding so that was that.

Caleb also joined in training by working on his body, just some simple exercises like push ups, sit ups, lifting some weights and cardio.

Anyways, Caleb's plan on Magby was a following of progression in power. Ember led to Flamethrower, which could help in the development of Fire Blast and Overheat.

On most nights after training, Caleb found himself studying different subject of books that consist of the geography of the world, different fruits and herb, Pokemons, History and mainly pokemon battling at the Library of his grandfather.

His grandfather willingly gave him permission to access his library, giving his grandson support since he was trying to improve himself.

His family members and Diantha were worried, not for the reason on his lack of social friends, ermmm maybe it was one of the reasons. But because of his overworking. They were happy seeing him work so hard when his condition was very special, but after seeing it for so long they began to worry for his health.

Overworking isn't good specially to a young child, but what they didn't know was that Caleb was shouldering something very heavy, they couldn't even imagine the weight.

....

After Caleb and Magby finished their training for today, they sat right beside each other and began to meditate.

Caleb entered his sea of conciousness. Before he couldn't willingly enter this state but after several times of trial and error, he was now used to it.

He floated on the black blank space and hovered forward to the seed that he discovered months ago.

"I don't know how or what reason you are inside my mind. I know that humans and Pokemons alike guarded you for a reason, but this doesn't mean I will..." Caleb grew silent for a moment while staring at the golden seed that was hovering in front of him.

"However, knowing that you are an important objective of those creatures that means I am also implicated on the danger if they found out you are within me. I can't just hide and cower without exploring this world on my journey, so while I don't like being your bodyguard but for the sake of keeping myself safe, I will take care of you and won't make us both fell into their hands." Caleb sighed, it was surprising seeing a young boy talked so maturely, but his mentally isn't that normal to begin with since he is a transmigrator.

He stared at the seed in a daze for who knows how long. Eventually, he snapped out of it.

"So please, take care of me also... See you next time."

His image faded away, returning the silence that encompasses the blank void. After several seconds, without Caleb witnessing it, the seed pumped like a heart glowing brilliantly for a second before calming down.

....

Caleb opened his eyes, his Magby also did.

He reached out and patted his head.

"Magby!" Magby patted his stomach that was growling in hunger.

"Hahaha, I'm hungry too budd. Let's go to the cafeteria and see what the menu for today has to offer." He laughed as he stood up, patting his clothes that had dust laying around.

*Boom!*

At that moment, a small explosion suddenly occured that reveberate around the facility he was in.

"What was that?"

A loudpeaked broke their walk towards the door as they glanced towards the screen that was displaying a heated battle between trainers.

It was one of the screens that displayed the battle that was ongoing on the training ground of the pokemon center.

When Caleb and Magby finally got a clear view as the dust settled, it let him know that the two combatants were at their last pokemon. The area was filled with tens of spectators that were clapping and cheering.

The field was very battle worn already. Pockmarks littered the dirt and he could see two exhausted looking pokemons opposing each other. A trainer's terrifying looking Noivern was floating above the field looking slightly worse for wear. It has a much difficult time trying to stay afloat but it still hold it in and remained majestic like the flying/dragon-type it was.

On the other side of the arena stood a mounstrous Avalugg. Avalugg is a massive Pokémon covered almost entirely in semi-transparent ice. He'd heared rumors of trainers venturing the snow mountains and cave taverns located north-east on Kalos but to never return to see the light of day because of this Pokemons, they weren't docile just by it's appearance.

The ice-type should have had a huge advantage over the opposing trainer's dragon-type, but it looked much more beaten and battered. Cracks were found all over it's icy body and had a limp on one of it's hind legs.

With what appeared to be the last of it's remaining energy, the Avalugg launched a powerful blizzard attack. The pokemon released a maelstrom of ice and snow from it's body, immediately cooling the field a few degrees lower.

Caleb could feel the chill even through the psychic barrier meant to protect the spectators.

Through the thick snow of the blizzard attack, the dragon pokemon that was hovering on air was obscured from view. When it cleared, the field was covered with several inches of snow, with the Avalugg laying down, panting with Noivern nowhere to be seen.

"Boomburst."

Suddenly the calm voice of the opposing trainer sounded out in the screen.

A burst of raging wind erupted from the Noivern's huge ears that suddenly dropped from the sky. Although it looked a bit sluggish, the dragon reared it's head and released the move, ending the battle.

All of that occured in less that ten seconds.

Caleb moved his gaze from the screen, only to see Magby all pumped up.

He smiled. "We will reach those heights eventually Magby, even surpassing them! So let's continue to work hard and defeat all the challenges we had to face."

Magby let out a roar of agreement while spitting out flames from it's mouth.

Caleb's smile further widened seeing his pokemon so enthusiastic.

*Grumble, Grumble, Grumble.*

The two quited down only to have their face turn red.

"Ehem but first we should solve the problem we have currently, hunger."

"Magby."
