CHAPTER TWELVE - Found a clue 

Jumping a little, Lily reached for her phone. As she gave up, she sighed. All right, take it. He was left alone after she said something furiously. "Lily, why are you ignoring me?" James was approaching Alex, and he tightened his teeth and looked at him. After rolling his eyes, Lily prepared to leave. I say, "Well, look at you." James sneered at him. "Not right now." Alex's cold glare served as a warning to him. Why not?" After all, you are currently enjoying yourself with two women. James chuckled sarcastically, which made Alex close his eyes in rage. "WHAT-"

When Alex noticed his father close by, he halted. He exhaled an angry sigh before leaving James. James shook his head in satisfaction while chuckling.

Lily left the celebration to grab some fresh air. When she noticed a girl pointing a gun at her, her eyes grew wider. When the girl pulled the trigger on the gun, she let out a gasp. Lily closed her eyes as she was abruptly hauled toward a muscular chest by a strong jerk. He was badly panting as Lily gave him a hard hug. As she returned to reality, she broke the embrace.

Lily looked in the direction of the person who was anxiously observing her. "Are you alright?" She nodded in response to Alex's question, who was gasping. When Alex caught a glimpse of the girl, who was shaking in terror, his stare changed to one that was frightening. Alex caught her arm and pulled her back just as she was ready to run. WHO ARE YOU? WHO SENT YOU HERE? She fainted as a result of his yell at her.

Lily and Alex were waiting for the girl to awaken at the hospital after giving her a brief treatment. Lily caught Alex's occasional looks to see if she was alright. Lily was sitting in disbelief over what had transpired two hours prior, her body numb. Standing next to her and sighing, Alex seemed frightened. We'll figure out who was behind this, so don't worry. She started crying when he patted her on the head. Alex's expression grew softer as she sobbed more intensely. Hey, no problem. Lily grabbed his waist tightly as he stroked her head. "What's going on? I'm not sure why they're acting in this way. In between sobbing, Lily managed to get that out. To soothe her, Alex gave her a gentle head rub. He grinned and knelt down before speaking. "Avoid worrying. You are safe from harm. She gave him a nod.

"Let me get you some water." After saying this, Alex went to get her some water.

When Alex's eyes caught sight of his father figure, who was visibly perspiring while conversing with someone, he was taking a water bottle for Lily. After seeing him in such a state, Alex scowled. "What is he doing over here?" He murmured and turned to follow him when the doctor urged him to halt. The patient is now conscious, Mr Smith. Alex followed the doctor after nodding. Lily and Alex arrived at the ward. The young woman's head was lying on her bed. When Lily's dark eyes met hers, she winced. "L-let me explain," She stumbled out of terror.

Tell the truth to me, or you'll regret it. Alex yelled at her.

Lily, who was in pain in her foot, sat on the chair with Alex's assistance as the girl repeatedly nodded her head.

I was paid to kill Lily and asked to do it by someone. Their eyes widened as she said something under her breath. "Who?" Lily muttered something to herself. "Who requested that you do that?" The moment the door swung open to reveal Mr. Smith, the girl was going to respond to her but was stopped. The sight of him in front of the girl caused her eyes to widen in disbelief. Everyone's focus was drawn to Mr. Smith, who was panting loudly. "Dad?" Alex grunted. "Take her into custody." Mr. Smith gestured the girl with his index finger. Alex gasped in surprise as his father's abrupt outburst caused Lily to flinch. Lily and Alex follow the police as they bring her out of the hospital with them. While desperately staring at Lily, the girl was attempting to get free from their hold. The police were forced to leave the girl when Lily ran over to her and stared at them. When Mr. Smith showed her a photo of her child taken from behind, the girl was going to speak when she suddenly stopped. "Take care." The young woman requested the police to take her with them as she nodded. Lily hurriedly cast a brief peek in the direction of Mr. Smith, who was smirking menacingly.

As quickly as they can, Lily and Alex leave the hospital. They sighed as they noticed journalists covering the area everywhere. Holding Alex's coat was Lily. I'm not prepared to speak in front of them. He acknowledged her predicament by nodding. "Let's return home," Alex spoke while grinning at her. Lily gasped as he took her into his arms. Asking, "W-what are you doing?" When Alex suddenly moved, she stumbled. "Join in if you want to go home. She acknowledged his strategy with a nod.

She was shown to the reporter when she was sleeping by Alex.

She's weak, I'm sorry. Allow me to take her home, please. They nodded, giving them room to leave.

After fastening her seatbelt, Alex set her in the passenger seat and jumped inside the vehicle.

He started the car, sighed, and drove away from the hospital. Lily blinked her eyes wide and grinned. That was incredible. At her compliment, Alex chuckled. I never cease to amaze." Lily glared at Alex in contempt as he self-praised. "Yeah, whatever, whatever." In addition to glaring at her, Alex prodded his cheek. "You are terrible. I double-saved. You should give me credit. Her eyes rolled as she heard Alex whine.

In your sleep, please. She grunted.

As they entered the house, Emily leaped into Alex's arms, and Lily rolled her eyes in irritation. Say, "Give me my phone. "Lily motioned for him to put her phone on her palms while she demonstrated. He put the phone down while nodding. With a nod, Lily walked away from them. Alex laughed as a result of Emily kissing him all over his face. "I'm missing you." She bit into his lips. She was dumped off on the couch after Alex picked her up. "Let me get dressed." She gave a head nod. Alex grinned before departing. As she made her way to the closet, Lily threw her phone on the bed. She put on her comfy clothes and entered the restroom. She exited the shower after taking a lengthy, warm shower and dried her hair. Lily prepared the bed by putting on a moisturizing lotion.

She sighed in exhaustion and grabbed her phone. Something suddenly crossed her thoughts. I received messages.

She widened her eyes when she accessed the video in her manager's communications. When Lily saw all the movies her manager had provided her, her eyes grew wide. "I must learn the complete truth. What is his name? Why did Mr Smith feel threatened by him? When the police were taking the girl to jail, Lily recalled something the girl had said to her.

Lily got up from the bed and headed to her closet. She went to the table with her laptop in hand.

She turned it on and set it down on the table. Lily read the document that she had copied from the flash drive. She began examining all the evidence she had collected over the previous few days. Lily was fully engaged in her job when her phone abruptly rang, drawing her attention. She took the call after giving the caller ID a quick peek. James was there on the opposing side.

"Are you alright?" As soon as Lily heard his anxious voice, she grinned.

She answered coolly, "Yes, I am." It is impossible, no. James was shocked when he saw Lily's eyes expand as she glanced at the laptop's screen.
