His heart flutters.

Nolan looked at his watch the seventh time in the last ten minutes. It had been twenty minutes past the scheduled time, yet there was no sign of the person he was eagerly wants to see.

He was waiting for Bonie in her consulting room.

"Sorry, I had an emergency patient" Bonie hurriedly came in.

Nolan's eyes glistened when his gaze landed at the beautiful intruder he had been waiting for. Bonie was so in hurry that she stumbled her foot. She closed her eyes, she had felt a hand reaching out to hold her up by the waist.

"Are you okay?" Nolan asked in his strong tone which kind of warmed her ears. She felt the fingers pressing against her skin as the person steadied her.

Her heart was suddenly racing fast. Her eyes was fully widened and she was staring at him unblinkingly.

"Yes. I am good" She cleared her throat slightly.

His palm was huge and it was effortless for him to support her. Their skin contact was like an electric current.

Stabilising herself, Bonie gave him a weak smile and said, "Thank you".

"Thank you, Dr Bonie"

After thanking her, Nolan stood up to leave but as soon as he reached the door Bonie voice stop him.

"Mr Carson, Please wait!"

Nolan maintained a faint smile and turned his head back to her, looking in her deep gray eyes, .

"I am sorry about your jacket. I left it in my home. I shall return it to you either tomorrow or the day after when I'm free. Is that okay?"

Nolan ran his hand in his hand and said in a deep voice calmly, "When are you going to end your duty?"

Bonie stayed silent for a while, then replied, "I think after one hour".

"That's great. Then I will wait for you. I will drop you off and you can give back my jacket"

Before Bonie replied, Nolan quickly left her consulting room with a smile appearing on his face.

Nolan was pacing before the hospital gate, hands resting in pockets. His broad shoulders and small waist gave his semi-casual fashion a charming appeal making the girls passing by only occasionally glanced at him.

Bonie ran to him with a guilty feeling, saying, "I am so sorry. Did I make you wait long?."

"No. I didn't wait long" Nolan replied. The smiling beautiful woman in front of him makes his heart beats rapidly and he could feel flutters in his stomach.

"Good evening Madam, Good evening sir" The chauffeur greeted as soon as they both got in the car.

"Get in" Nolan said holding his side of the door for her.

"Thank you" Bonie bent over to get into the car. There was a dead silence in the car. Bonie couldn't help but glance at the man sitting beside her. His handsome side profile seemed mysterious in the dim light of the parking lot. Looking straight ahead, Bonie closed her eyes to rest.

Nolan could tell she was no longer looking at him, so he turned to look at her. His eyes landing on the tired face of Bonie. He turned away without saying any words.

At an intersection, the driver hit the blinker and turned right. Bonie was unstable because of inertia, and her head fell on his shoulders.

Nolan's suddenly stiffened, he slowly looked down at the sleeping girl thrust against shoulder. His heart beat rapidly, Nolan could not help but conclude that he might have some heart problem when his heart beat increased rapidly as if it would jump out of his chest.

Bonie did not know how long she had slept, and then she opened her eyes. As soon as she opened her eyes, she realized that she had slept on the man's shoulders.

"Sorry! Mr Carson. I feel asleep as I am so tired" Bonie hastily said.

"Did you sleep well?" Nolan lifted his thin lips.

"Huh...?" Bonie slightly widened her eyes. "Yes. Thanks to you" Her long eyelashes trembling like a butterfly. In that moment, a growling sound coming from Bonie's stomach.

Bonie looked at the city lights before them, Bonie loss her words marveling the lights. She had a small blush on her face, the joy in her eyes evident as it reflected the happiness she has on her lips.

Bonie glanced up when Nolan's coat wrapped it around Bonie's shoulders.

"I am fine. You are patient" Bonie moved her hands but Nolan caught hold on her wrist making her stop.

Nolan shook his head and replied, "I only broke my ribs but I am very healthy".

Bonie couldn't help but chuckle. "Good for you" Bonie said, a sleek smile on her face.

"The night is beautiful. WoW....I feel alive" Bonie mumbled, Nolan, smiling as he watched Bonie beside him.
